    Chelsea Handler Moves On To Netflix, Chuy Bravo Gets Left Out

    Followers of Chelsea Lately and Chelsea Handler’s comedic wit on late night TV will surely miss her and her cheeky sidekick Chuy Bravo, after the show airs its final episode on Tuesday, 26 Aug.

    When Chelsea Lately first aired on E! in 2007, reports said Handler was unsure she could hold her own show. The show became popular with a mostly female audience with the capable Handler, coupled with Bravo’s one-liners, and was signed to an extended run until 2014.

    “I myself am more surprised than anyone that I was able to hold down a job for seven years, and it was a fantastic seven years,” the comedienne said. “I will always look back at my time on E! as most people look back at their time in college. I’m glad I went.”

    Handler is also very happy to be moving on. In June, Netflix announced they made a deal with Handler that includes four documentary features and a talk show.

    Earlier this year, Handler suggested that she would like to move on to an outfit like Netflix. ‘If I was going to continue working in this industry, I knew I had to do something outside the box to keep myself interested,’ Handler said.

    The online TV network said it will update the format of Chelsea Lately to include Handler’s unfiltered opinions on topics of the day, but retain the comedic focus on entertainment and pop-culture.

    According to Ted Sarandos of Netflix: “The Internet has disrupted many of the conventions of traditional television and together with Chelsea Handler, Netflix is looking forward to reimagining the late night talk show for the on-demand generation, starting with the late night part….”

    Sarandos added that the network is excited to have her on-board. “Chelsea has built a huge following on tour, on nightly TV and through her bestselling books, and we can’t wait to introduce her breathtakingly honest and irreverent voice to our global membership.”

    On the other hand, Handler’s “assistant” Bravo has not received an offer to join her at Netflix –not yet. TMZ reports that he is currently looking at other options.

  • Beyonce And Jay-Z Cleared Of Charges They Violated US Sanctions With Trip To Cuba

    One year and four months after they took a trip to Cuba to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary, Beyonce and Jay-Z have been cleared by the US Treasury Department of charges that they violated US sanctions on the country. On Wednesday the Treasury Department’s Office of Inspector General issued a report that said the superstar couple’s trip to the Communist-run country did not violate US sanctions against Cuba, which includes the ban of US citizens from traveling to the island as tourists unless the trip is under a special license.

    A formal investigation into the reasons behind the visit of Beyonce and Jay-Z to Cuba was declined by the Office of Foreign Assets Control, which grants special licenses to people or organizations traveling to Cuba to sponsor educational exchange programs. The Treasury Department’s Inspector General then concluded that this was “reasonable.”

    The report went on to say that Beyonce and Jay-Z were licensed to visit Cuba under the “people-to-people” educational exchange program and that there was no evidence that the couple abused it. Beyonce and Jay-Z’s activities in Cuba, as reported by the media, were reviewed by federal investigators. These activities included walking tours of Havana’s neighborhoods and Cuba’s top art school as well as dinners in private homes and stops at dance clubs, where they listened to live music and danced.

    The report concluded that, “All of these activities serve the US foreign policy goal of helping the Cuban people by facilitating exchanges with them and supporting the development of independent activity and civil society.”

    It was in April 2013 when three Cuban-American Republicans, Sen. Marco Rubio and Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart, raised an outcry over Beyonce and Jay-Z’s trip to Cuba. They contended that the US Government was becoming lax on restrictions for travel to the Communist country.

  • Oil Rig Explosion Movie: Mark Wahlberg To Star In ‘Deepwater Horizon’

    If all goes well, Mark Wahlberg will be Manager Number Two in the film adaptation of one of the worst oil spills in history.

    The actor is currently in talks to star in the movie based on the true-life story of the 2010 oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico as reported in the New York Times article Deepwater Horizon’s Final Hour.

    The storyline for Deepwater Horizon will center on the events of the last 48 hours leading up to the disaster as well as the heroic acts of the rescuers who responded to the emergency. Eleven workers died in the explosion and sixteen others were injured. The blast itself ignited a fireball visible from 40 miles away.

    The movie rights to the article recounting the events of this catastrophe were granted to Summit and Participant after a heavy bidding battle. The film will be produced by the duo behind Transformers, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian, and will be directed by J.C. Chandor, who also directed the 2013 survival film, All is Lost. Matthew Sand wrote the first draft of the script, which Matthew Michael Carnahan, who wrote World War Z, has adapted into the latest draft.

    It is reported that the movie will start production in the late spring or early summer of 2015 although it is still unclear where the project will shoot.

    Wahlberg is being considered for this movie after having worked with Di Bonaventura in Transformers: Age Of Extinction. Before Transformers, he starred in Lone Survivor, another movie drama based on the true story of war hero Marcus Luttrell. Wahlberg played Luttrell, who led a Navy Seals team in a covert operation to track a high-value Taliban leader. He is now set to start filming a comedy movie titled Daddy’s Home, which will co-star Will Ferrell.

    Wahlberg is most admired for his ability to effectively and easily switch between serious dramatic roles and lighthearted comedic ones. Wahlberg is also one of the creative minds behind Boardwalk Empire and Entourage, the successful HBO series that will likewise soon be a movie.

    Anna Nicole Smith’s Estate Is Not Entitled To Late Husband’s Money, Final Ruling

    The long-running court case that Anna Nicole Smith first filed in 1996 for a portion of the Marshall wealth has finally come to an end in federal court. The final ruling maintained that Smith –more precisely, her estate– is not entitled to the estate of her former husband, Texas billionaire, J. Howard Marshall II.

    When 89-year-old Marshall died, he left his entire estate to his son, E. Pierce Marshall.  This was in 1995, fourteen months after being married to then 26-year-old, former Playboy model, Smith.

    Smith, whose legal name is Vickie Lynn Marshall, claimed that she was promised by her late husband more than $300million in inheritance, and took the matter to court.

    Due to Smith’s filing for bankruptcy, among other complications, the case was heard in various local and federal courts. It had gone on to outlive both Smith, who died in 2007 because of a drug overdose, and the Marshall son, E. Pierce, who passed on in 2006.

    Smith’s estate pursued the case on behalf of her daughter, eight-year-old Dannielynn Birkhead.  Birkhead’s lawyers have attempted to win sanctions from the Marshall family for delays and obfuscation tactics of the deceased heir and his lawyers. As Smith’s only living heir, she would have been about $44 million richer had the courts ruled in her favor.

    On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge David O. Carter dismissed their attempts as moot since Birkhead’s lawyers failed to provide sufficient evidence of actual damages.

    “The Court also must consider the very real concerns attendant in sanctioning Pierce Marshall, who is deceased and therefore cannot be present, cannot attend the hearing, and cannot answer for himself the allegations against him.” said Carter.

    Carter added that too much time and energy had been spent on the case and ought to be ended.   “Time spent litigating the relationship between Vickie Lynn and J. Howard has extended for nearly five times the length of their relationship and nearly twenty times the length of their marriage. It is neither reasonable nor practical to go forward.”

    To celebrate the first anniversary of her wedding to rapper Wiz Khalifa, model Amber Rose took to Instagram to post never-before-seen photos of their ceremony. The couple officially married last year in a Los Angeles courthouse on July 8, but held another ceremony on August 18, 2013 for their friends and family.

    On Monday, August 18 of this year, Rose posted a couple of photos from her wedding that included a snapshot of the happy couple with their son Sebastian Taylor Thomaz, who was nearly five months old at the time. Rose and Khalifa were beaming, while Sebastian looked curiously at the camera. Rose added a sweet message for her husband to the caption of the photo, writing, “Today was the day we said our vows before God and our Family. I knew as soon as I met u, u were the one for me sweetheart. Happy 1 year anniversary @mistercap and many more to come.”

    The other photo she posted was of her and her mother, with the caption, “My beautiful Mommy and I on my wedding day.”

    Fans can now piece together the details of how Rose and Khalifa spent their special day by looking at the photos. Rose looked stunning on her wedding day, wearing a white strapless Pnina Tornai for Kleinfeld lace gown with a billowing skirt of lace and ruffles. She donned a simple white headpiece and diamond stud earrings, and wore a light pink lip to show off her ecstatic smiles. Meanwhile, Khalifa wore a fuschia and black tuxedo and looked happy as he posed next to his bride while she was carrying their son.

    Khalifa responded to his wife’s anniversary posts by sharing a photo of her with the caption, “Happy Anniversary beautiful. @muvarosebud.” They became engaged after a year of dating when Khalifa proposed to her in March 2012.

    It’s been 10 years since the controversy around the performance erupted, but it seems that Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” at the 2004 Super Bowl Halftime Show might have put her on the National Football League’s (NFL) blacklist for a lifetime. TMZ Sports recently approached the NFL to discuss possible acts lined up to perform at the Super Bowl XLIX next year in Arizona and were reportedly told by them that Jackson was definitely not going to be invited in 2015.

    “As for potential acts—we have only ruled out Janet Jackson,” stated the NFL.

    Jackson became embroiled in media controversy when she performed at the halftime show for Super Bowl XXXVIII. In an incident widely known as “Nipplegate,” the pop superstar shocked fans and viewers when as part of her act, she had co-performer Justin Timberlake rip off part of her clothing, which exposed her right breast. Meanwhile, Timberlake has not been blacklisted by the NFL despite being part of the performance.

    The NFL did not discuss potential acts for Super Bowl XLIX with TMZ Sports, but rumors are circulating that those acts include Rihanna, Katy Perry and Coldplay. The rumors concern artists that are currently raking in millions from concert sales, unlike Jackson, who last toured was in 2011.

    However, the NFL is also rumored to have asked the artists they invited for Super Bowl XLIX to pay for the chance to play, although there is no information on how much the league asked for and no confirmation from the NFL itself.

    The Wall Street Journal reported that the acts who were asked to pay for a spot at next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show gave the request a “chilly” reception. One reason cited for why the NFL is asking for money from artists says that the Super Bowl bumps up their popularity and sales, but musical performances also promote the event on social media and draw viewers who aren’t regular fans of football. An NFL spokesperson told The Wall Street Journal that when they have something to announce, “we’ll announce it.”

    In an interview with Hello, former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt has revealed that she and her husband, model Max Rogers, are expecting their first baby, and it’s a girl! The couple reportedly found out that Wyatt was pregnant in April when they were in New York City for their honeymoon.

    Wyatt said that one of the first people to know about the great baby news was her fellow Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, who immediately guessed what was up when she saw her friend. “We are like sisters,” said Wyatt. “Ashley knows everything about me, so she only looked at me and guessed right away. When I told her, it was so emotional, she was thrilled for us, which was lovely.”

    Meanwhile, Rogers is also thrilled at the prospect of being a father, expressing his joy and admiration for his wife over Twitter. “Kim and I are delighted to be able to share the news that we are having a baby!” he tweeted. Rogers further said that he was delighted and that his “amazing” wife was embracing the process and “breezing through” it.

    He spoke to Hello about learning that he and Wyatt were having a baby girl. “We went for the second scan, at 20 weeks, and they said, ‘You’re going to have a daughter,’ and then when I felt her kick, it really connected with me,” he said.

    Wyatt is set on raising her daughter in the UK after giving birth to her in December. “I love the life Max and I have built here. England is home for me now. And there is nothing cuter than having a baby growing up with a British accent,” she said.

    The excited soon-to-be-parents dated for two years before becoming engaged in September 2013. Wyatt and Rogers then wed in February 2014 and immediately got to work on expanding their family.

    After being brutally assaulted, Christy Mack is still recovering from the severe injuries she sustained, allegedly inflicted by her boyfriend, MMA fighter War Machine. She has been getting messages of support from all over the world, but on Saturday she shared how she was also being comforted by her dogs Swayzee and Cleo.

    On Saturday, Mack posted on Twitter a side-by-side photo of her two pitbulls with notes around their necks. Each note said, “Hi Mom! Love u,” and was signed with the dogs’ names. The caption of the photo read, “Just received a wonderful message from my babies, I can’t wait to see my little sugars again.”

    Mack is a big lover of dogs and pitbulls, and she told Dirty Diablos in a July 2012 interview how she has two to five pitbulls at her house at any given time.

    The porn star needs all the help she can get to recover from her injuries, which include 18 broken bones in her face, missing and broken teeth, a fractured rib and severely ruptured liver. Gruesome details from the Las Vegas Police report of the attack have surfaced and reveal that War Machine had allegedly arrived at Mack’s residence at 1:30 AM, where he proceeded to beat up the person he found sleeping in bed with his ex-girlfriend. The report recounts that Mack had been asleep at the time next to former reality TV star Corey Thomas, who escaped the attack and called 911.

    The report continues to allege that War Machine turned on Mack after Thomas left, forcing her to strip naked and repeatedly punching her. He then reportedly scanned her Instagram and Twitter accounts and punched her every time he “found something he did not like.” It also states that War Machine sexually abused her before she escaped through a back door while he was searching for a knife to “finish the job”.

    War Machine was captured by police on Friday, August 15.

    On Monday, back-up dancer Casper Smart was spotted driving a BMW in Los Angeles with his famous ex, pop superstar Jennifer Lopez, in the front seat. The sighting is sparking rumors that Smart is trying to win J.Lo back since they broke up in June after he allegedly cheated on her with a transsexual, which Smart denied.

    Smart was seen hanging out with Lopez and driving around in a white BMW convertible. However, when the couple arrived at Lopez’s house, photographers were waiting to snap pictures, causing her to duck out of view.

    A source told Hollywoodlife.com that Smart is doing what he can to win J.Lo back. “Casper is aware of his mistakes and is doing everything to make it up to J.Lo. He is being the same guy he’s always been to her, which she is happy with. The way things are working out is currently so far so good,” they said.

    According to the source, Lopez hasn’t gotten over Smart, preferring to return things to how they once were with him and not start a new relationship. Her six-year-old twins with Marc Anthony, Emme and Max, supposedly keep asking about Smart, and the former couple stayed in touch after the split and “remained friendly.” The source further revealed that the two were “working out their differences to hopefully rekindle their romance, or to at least work together again.”

    E! News reported, however, that Smart and Lopez were just friends with “nothing romantic going on between the two of them.”

    “He still loves her and cares about the kids. Nothing has really changed since they split regarding their relationship and nothing romantic is going on,” a source told E! News.

    Lopez has been rumored to be dating Maksim Chmerkovskiy of Dancing With The Stars, who was seen by the singer’s side as she celebrated her 45th birthday in the Hamptons.

On Saturday, Banderas was seen dancing with different women at the French restaurant L’Opera in the coastal town.

    Banderas, making the most of his newly single status, reportedly danced with a woman in a form-fitting white dress and chatted intimately with another lady who was wearing a black sleeveless dress. He was seen being affectionate to the women he spoke and danced with, smiling and wrapping his arms around them. Daily Mail reported that other women in the restaurant seemed thrilled to be in his presence even though he didn’t personally address them.

    At the end of the night, the Expendables 3 actor was seen leaving the club with a woman wearing a sexy jumpsuit. According to People En Espanol, this wasn’t the first time that Banderas had been seen with the woman as they had been spotted together in Cannes, France in May. Previously considered one of the longest-running partnerships in Hollywood, Banderas and Griffith’s marriage came to an end when they announce that they were getting divorced. On June 6, Griffith filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. However, the couple made a joint statement, saying, “We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost 20 years of marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together.”

    According to a source that spoke to Us, there was no cheating on either side of the pair, and they had simply fallen out of love a while back. Griffiths reportedly asked for spousal support, child support and sole physical and joint legal custody of their daughter Stella.

    Reality TV star Kate Gosselin was recently spotted in the company of her former bodyguard Steve Neild, who is also rumored to be her boyfriend, while on vacation with her family. An eyewitness saw Gosselin and her children, twins Mady and Cara plus sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel, getting lessons in history at the Plimoth Plantation museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Neild was on the scene to keep prying eyes away from the family as they checked out the historical attraction.

    Witness Jennifer Kelly told RadarOnline that she was about to snap the family’s picture as they came up to the entrance when Neild suddenly appeared. “I was a bit shocked as he bolted around the corner. I said, ‘Hey, I know who you are.’ He said, ‘Who’s that?’ And I said, ‘You’re Kate’s bodyguard, Steve.’ He replied, ‘Yup,’” Kelly narrated.

    Eyebrows are raised as the news comes fast on the heels of reports in July that Neild had quit working for Gosselin and returned to his wife Gina to spend more time with her and her kids. Gina at the time had even posted a photo of her, Neild and their two sons on Facebook. However, it seems that Neild is back in Gosselin’s life.

    Kelly also noticed that a camera crew was following Gosselin and the kids around the museum, which supports the news that the Kate Plus 8 star is continuing her relationship with TLC. Gosselin’s two-part Kate Plus 8 special aired in June and averaged 2.1 million viewers, and TLC has ordered more episodes of the show to be aired in December. TLC has announced that the show will be following the family around during their vacation in Boston and as they explore other parts of New England, as well as document the final days of summer of the Gosselin kids before Mady and Cara enter the eighth grade and the sextuplets go into fourth grade.

  • Celestina Warbeck: ‘Harry Potter’ Character Gets Her Own Story

    Fans of the Harry Potter series will be happy to know that J.K. Rowling has brought to life another lesser-known character from the Harry Potter world of wizardry.

    On Monday, Rowling published a piece about the story behind Celestina Warbeck, the character who Rowling describes as a ‘Singing Sorceress’.

    The character of Warbeck, was never really mentioned in the Harry Potter books, except as Ron Weasley’s mom’s favorite singer. In the Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince, Mrs. Weasley would get her radio out for the Christmas broadcast while waiting for Warbeck to come on air to sing:

    ‘Oh, come and stir my couldron

    And if you do it right

    I’ll boil you up some hot strong love

    To keep you warm tonight.’

    The published piece in Pottermore.com gives insight to the personal life of Warbeck, her humble half-Muggle origins and her blockbuster music career.     Celebrity couple, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi, celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary this weekend.  The couple, whose relationship has been an inspiration to many, recently had to face ugly rumors and assaults on their personal affairs.

    Despite rumors, the couple is intent on showing the world –or at the very least each other– that they are ready to stick it out with their relationship.

    De Rossi did so in a grand way by skywriting the word ‘six’ in the clear blue sky last weekend.

    DeGeneres, who is known for the extravagant surprises she springs on both her celebrity guests and the audience of her talk-variety show, was clearly delighted to be on the receiving end of the surprise.

    She proudly shared a photo on Twitter with the caption: “Look what my wife did for our wedding anniversary. Six!”

    The photo showed the happy couple cheek to cheek with the big letters spelling S-i-x in the background.

    This is certainly one way to dispel rumors about the troubles they have been facing.

    The couple has actually admitted to going through tough times in the past –no different from most other couples. But those close to them say that DeGeneres is willing to do anything to make the marriage work.

    “Ellen is very supportive of Portia and has no intentions of leaving her,” a source close to DeGeneres told Radar.

    DeGeneres certainly knows not to give weight to false rumors. She even joked about it on an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live: “I read that we were getting divorced, and I went and told [De Rossi], and she was sad. We both were so sad.”

    The talk show host also told People: “The truth is, and this is corny, I fall more in love with Portia all the time.”

    DeGeneres and De Rossi also bought an upscale Beverly Hills condo earlier this month. However, they may flip it over for a profit. It has been reported that the couple now enjoys doing home improvement projects together after the success of another real-estate venture earlier this year.

    Star of The Shining and countless other award-winning films Jack Nicholson attended an Apollo Theater benefit in East Hampton on Saturday with his youngest son, Ray Nicholson. Nicholson is 77 while his son is 22, which is the same age Nicholson was when he got his break in the 1959 film The Cry Baby Killer, and onlookers couldn’t help noticing how the son was the spitting image of his famous father, down to the pointed eyebrows and devilish grin.

    Ray is Nicholson’s son with Rebecca Broussard, 51, with whom he had two children. Nicholson and Broussard were in a relationship from 1989 to 1994. Their son has not only inherited his father’s good looks but his love for film as well. Ray had previously appeared in The Benchwarmers in 2006 but has since moved behind the scenes, unlike his celebrity father. Ray to date has two assistant director credits to his name, for Boots (2013) and A Reunion (2014).

    Last weekend, the Nicholsons stayed with Jack’s friends, Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels and Tommy Barratta, owner of Marylou’s on West Ninth Street in New York. He attended the benefit with celebrities such as Paul McCartney, Senator John McCain, Sting and Bon Jovi. Page Six reported that Nicholson looked “fit and feisty” at the event, countering recent tabloid rumors that he has health problems.

    Besides his children with Broussard, Lorraine and Ray, Nicholson has two other children. He has daughter Jennifer Nicholson, 50, with his ex-wife Sandra Knight, and Honey Hollman, 33, whom he had with Danish model Winnie Hollman. He has spoken about his role as a father, revealing, “I didn’t see enough of my eldest daughter because I was trying to make a career. I have a daughter, Lorraine, and a son, Raymond, with whom I was able to spend much more time.”

  • Farrah Abraham Is A Stripper Now, Doing It For Research

    Former Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham is now keeping busy doing research on how to run an adult establishment — at least that’s how she explains her new job as a stripper at the Palazio Gentlemen’s Club in Austin.

    “A friend of mine works there and I’m researching,” she said. “I’ve been trying out all the roles that make up a gentleman’s club, including cocktailing and dancing. There’s management and there’s cooking too.”

    She says her work there can be likened to how Jennifer Aniston prepared for her role as a stripper in the film We’re the Millers, the big budget comedy in which Aniston starred with Jason Sudeikis.

    “It’s how I get the information to write my books and do my movies. Unfortunately, I’m not free to talk about what those future projects may be.     According to Abraham, this research has even allowed her to learn more than she initially expected:

    “I’ve learned that this industry has class, strength, and has taught me life skills to better myself for my daughter’s future. I’m thankful and shocked that my job shadowing has lead me to another amazing opportunity. Palazio Gentlemen’s Club has shown me and other women how we should be respected, treated, and cared for and not to settle for less.”

    Abraham was initially hired to wait tables, and was later offered to work as a stripper. “The club loved how hardworking and focused I was,” said the 23-year-old mother of one. “So they offered me a $544,000 agreement to be a celebrity house feature.”

    Palazio, through their manager BeBe Montgomery, also said: “It benefits everybody. It’s really fun. I hired Farrah as a waitress about a month ago and then we talked about it. She decided to switch to dancing. And then we talked again and came to an agreement for six figures. We’re really happy and excited.”

    The agreement will have Abraham work do research at the club two nights a week, Wednesdays and Fridays, through the end of the year.

  • Brad Pitt To Star In New Movie Directed By Angelina Jolie

    Hollywood’s ultimate power couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, are going to work together again for the first time since 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, the film that many believe sparked their relationship. The film By The Sea is written and will be directed by Jolie, who will also be directing her partner Pitt who will stars in the movie with her. By The Sea will be shot on Gonzo, Malta’s second largest island, and Mgarr ix-Xini beach was closed to the public on Sunday to start filming, which will run through November 10 of this year.

    Jolie revealed to the Inquirer that the decision to work closely with Pitt on the film wasn’t easy. “We have been shy of it for quite a few years because it’s very heavy, about a relationship, people going through and surviving a lot together. It’s not easy. So we were nervous about being able to handle the material as actors and to take it on together,” she said.

    She has described Pitt as “extremely supportive,” saying he was willing to have her direct him in the film and that they were both interested in different aspects of making it. Pitt will also be joining Jolie as a producer of the film.

    By The Sea is an intimate, character-driven film that sources say will have Jolie and Pitt’s characters getting married at one point in the story. Universal has already bought the rights to it, trusting in Jolie’s experience with directing the Golden Globe-nominated In The Land Of Blood And Honey in 2011 and her current project Unbroken, which features the life story of Olympian and war hero Louis Zamperini.

    The Malta Independent has reported that construction of the set on Gonzo is underway, with one structure on the beach nearing completion. Pitt has also had experience filming in Malta before for 2004’s Troy and last year’s World War Z.

  • Jackie Chan’s Son, Jaycee Chan, Busted For Illegal Drugs In Beijing

    On Thursday, kung-fu star Jackie Chan’s son, Jaycee Chan, 32, was caught in a drug bust in Beijing that was part of a huge anti-drug crackdown on celebrities. The younger Chan was found with more than 3.5 ounces of marijuana in his home in Beijing’s Dongcheng district and tested positive for the drug. Arrested with him was Taiwanese actor Kai Ko Chen-tung, 23, famous among younger audiences for his roles in You Are The Apple Of My Eye and the Tiny Times franchise.

    A string of high profile arrests on drug-related charges were made by Chinese police, involving several Chinese, Hong Kong and Taiwanese actors. Last week, 42 entertainment companies and performance agencies signed an agreement organized by the Beijing Trade Association for Performances to boycott celebrities who use illegal drugs. Deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Anti-Drug Office Jin Zhihai has said that stars need to be good role models for juveniles and society since they are public figures.

    Shanghai Entertainment News reported that Jaycee Chan’s father had advised him not to hang out with the younger Ko, who publicly promised that he would not lead his friend to harm. Father and son have had an estranged relationship throughout the years, and at one point the elder Chan announced that he had written his son out of his will. It’s unclear how Jaycee Chan’s arrest will affect his father’s standing with the Chinese government, especially since five years ago the latter signed up to be Narcotics Control Ambassador for the Chinese police.

    However, while he was promoting his film Chinese Zodiac in the UK, Jackie Chan revealed to The Guardian that he recently converted to a more responsible form of parenting. Jaycee Chan grew up in Los Angeles and has starred in several films which flopped. He also attempted to launch a music career, but has not achieved the same level of success as his father.

  • Elin Nordegren Breaks Up With Billionaire Beau Chris Cline

    Tiger Woods’ Swedish ex-wife Elin Nordegren, 34, has reportedly split from her billionaire boyfriend, Chris Cline, 56, after dating for a little over a year because they “drifted apart”. Nordegren and Cline own homes next to each other on North Palm Beach and started dating in March 2013.  A source told Page Six, “They didn’t spend enough time together. He has a thriving business and has been traveling a lot.”

    Cline owns Foresight Energy, a company that has mines in Illinois and northern Appalachia. Forbes has estimated his worth at $1.4 billion. Earlier this year, Nordegren reportedly introduced him to her family while they were vacationing in Sweden, and the couple even went on double dates with Nordegren’s ex-husband Woods and his girlfriend, Lindsey Vonn. Nordegren and Cline were last seen together in public at a bell ceremony for Foresight Energy at the New York Stock Exchange in June.

    Meanwhile, Nordegren was spotted on Friday in the Hamptons, where she spent a weekend with girlfriends. She was seen walking around Bridgehampton with friends and described as “single again and hotter than ever” by an insider.

    Despite her recent split, Nordegren has many reasons to smile. She graduated from Rollins College after nine years of studying psychology, earning a degree and an Outstanding Senior Award with her 3.96 GPA, for which she was asked to give a speech to her class. She also opened up to People that same month about her relationship with her ex-husband post-divorce.

    “My relationship with Tiger is centered around our children and we are doing really good—we really are—and I am so happy that this is the case. He is a great father,” she revealed.

    When asked about Woods’ new girlfriend, Nordegren said she was happy that there was one more person loving her children.

  • Milla Jovovich Is Having A Second Baby, Resident Evil Movie Pushed Back

    Congratulations are in order for action star Milla Jovovich and her husband, producer and director Paul W.S. Anderson, who are expecting their second child. The Resident Evil actor recently made an announcement on Facebook that the couple had just found out that they were pregnant.

    “Happy Monday everyone! This was originally going to be a post to tell you how excited I am about flying to Cape Town, South Africa to begin working on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. But… My husband Paul and I just discovered that we are expecting another baby!!!” Jovovich wrote on August 18.

    She went on to tell fans that filming of the next Resident Evil movie would be pushed back due to her pregnancy. Expressing concerns over the grueling stunts that she would have to perform, she revealed that she and her husband had made the decision to wait for the baby to be born before shipping Jovovich off to South Africa for filming. “Between the stunt work and what will become my ever-expanding belly, we didn’t think pregnancy and zombie killing are the best combo! Lol! I imagine the only thing I’ll be killing in the near future is an endless supply of cupcakes. Yikes…” Jovovich joked.

    Anderson is the producer of the Resident Evil franchise, and he met Jovovich on set when they filmed the first movie together in 2002. They married in 2009, two years after having their first child, Ever Gabo Anderson, in 2007. Jovovich is no doubt happy that she is making her six-year-old daughter Ever a big sister, as she previously told Hello! Magazine, “I want to have a baby and that is my number one priority. If I don’t do it now, it will get more difficult the older I get. I have to do it before [Ever] is too old to enjoy it. I don’t have all the time in the world to think about it.”

    Following her split with her husband of 18 years, Melanie Griffith is enjoying life and taking on new projects. She recently went on a trip to Switzerland with her daughter, Stella Banderas, for the Locarno International Film Festival and was seen at LAX on August 11 upon their return. Mother and daughter were both sporting cateye sunglasses, with Griffith looking stylish in a cream leather jacket, white top and blue bell-bottomed jeans.

    “My kids are almost grown. I’m getting divorced. I’m just happy. I’m really joyful. Life is good,” she told IndieWire.

    In June, Griffith and her husband, actor Antonio Banderas, shocked the world by announcing that they were getting divorced. Their papers cited the cause as “irreconcilable differences” but the one thing both actors are agreeing on is not talking about their split. Banderas told The Times, “We (have) got an agreement together that we’re not going to talk about it and I don’t want to break it. Probably in the near to mid-future we will be able to talk. But not now.”

    Griffith is jumpstarting her career with a slew of new projects, including a new comedy she’s working on with Bob Saget and performing on Broadway in the show Pippin in January. “It’s not about my career now. It’s just about finding great work and having a good time,” she added.

    The Milk Money star is also promoting a short film called Thirst, in which she plays the role of an alcoholic prostitute. She claims that the role has been cathartic for her, saying, “I had a reputation with people in my industry as being a wild child, being a drug addict and an alcoholic. After being sober for five years, this part comes along and felt like if I could act it out and do it — not for anyone else, just for me — to do that harsh of a life of an alcoholic, I would be able to get it out.”

  • Hailey Baldwin Denies Having Plastic Surgery, Disrespecting Waitress

    Daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin, Hailey Baldwin, has been fighting off rumors lately about body issues and bad behavior. The 17-year-old has been upset about rumors circulating that she had plastic surgery, so she took to Twitter to defend herself.

    “I’m writing this because this is an issue that has been bothering me for a long time now, there have been multiple comments made to me over social media (specifically Instagram) about my looks not being natural or altered by surgery. It’s quite hurtful for a 17-year-old who already has insecurities and is growing up and changing in the public eye to have these things said constantly,” she tweeted.

    Baldwin claims that the changes in her body are due to puberty. “Everybody grows up, your face changes and you mature and that’s what is happening to me. It makes me feel quite horrible to think that people think I look so unnatural. I ignore it every time but it’s gotten to be a bit much for me. So for the last time, I have never touched my face surgically,” she further tweeted, in the hopes of ending all rumors that she’s had work done on her body.

    Recently, Baldwin also faced accusations that she and best friend Kendall Jenner had tried to escape paying for dinner and thrown money at the waitress who pursued them after they left the restaurant. Baldwin and Jenner claim that the story is untrue, saying that they forgot to pay but didn’t throw money at waitress Blaine Morris. Jenner is currently considering suing Morris for the defamatory story.

    Baldwin and her best friend went out to dinner last Tuesday and didn’t forget to pay for it that time. The two had their credit cards ready to pay the $550 bill and added a generous $160 tip. They were joined by Baldwin’s father, Stephen, and had raw oysters, lollipop lamb chops and lobster ravioli.
