  • Rob Kardashian Is Fat, And He’s Embarrassed; Kanye West Reaches Out

In the season finale of hit reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the shocking reason behind Rob Kardashian’s absence at his sister’s wedding is finally revealed. The male Kardashian skipped out on sister Kim’s wedding to rapper Kanye West after reading rude comments about himself online.

In the episode that aired yesterday, Scott Disick broke the news that Rob wouldn’t be attending the wedding, a fact that upset Kim. However, she said that she wanted to deal with the issue after the wedding was over. Apparently, Rob had flown to Paris with the intention of attending the wedding, but he didn’t get on the flight that would take him to Florence, where the actual wedding took place. Instead, Rob took a flight all the way back to Los Angeles because he supposedly felt self-conscious about his weight gain and didn’t want to face all the wedding guests.

“When Rob flew to Paris, he read some nasty comments about himself and he just didn’t feel comfortable. He didn’t want to see all my guests. It makes me so sad for him. It’s heartbreaking. It really is. I don’t want to think about it. I don’t want to talk about it,” said Kim in the episode.

Rob has supposedly been battling depression over the past year, and his family is rallying around him to support him through it, including his brother-in-law Kanye West. “Even [Kanye West] has been reaching out to him more and showing he cares. They are all his biggest cheerleaders right now,” a source told E! Online.

Another source told E! News that Rob was on a mission to lose 50 lbs., attributing Rob’s recent weight gain to depression. However, since missing out on Kim’s wedding in May, Rob has been keeping away from the spotlight and focusing on getting healthy. The source revealed that Rob has been attending therapy sessions, working out and adopting a healthier diet. He is also supposedly now living with sister Khloe, who has been very supportive of him throughout the years.

  • Vanessa Hudgens Hangs Out With ‘High School Musical’ Castmates

Vanessa Hudgens Hangs Out With ‘High School Musical’ Castmates

On Friday, actress Vanessa Hudgens was seen attending an intimate reunion of High School Musical cast members with the film’s director Kenny Ortega and choreographer Chucky Klapow. Hudgens, who played the character of Gabriella Montez in the film, posted a picture of the gathering on her Instagram account, showing herself and co-star Ashley Tisdale grinning for the camera with Ortega. The caption read, “Such a wonderful little Hsm reunion last night. @ashleytisdale and KO laughing our a**es off.”

Hudgens, Tisdale, Klapow and Ortega were joined by High School Musical actors Monique Coleman and Corbin Bleu as they had dinner under the stars in Los Angeles. The dinner and mini-reunion was held in honor of superfan Camilla Simon, who had won the chance to meet her idols after joining a contest at Prizeo.

The stars of the well-loved Disney original movie were seen laughing, chatting and hamming it up for their cameras, evidently enjoying the chance to catch up and hang out with the Prizeo winner. Hudgens is often seen hanging out with her best friend, Tisdale, but the gathering was a great opportunity for her to be reunited with Bleu and Coleman, who had played love interests for each other in the movie series.

Meanwhile, Hudgens’ own love interest in High School Musical—and former flame—Zac Efron could not attend the party. He was caught up in the filming of his upcoming flick, We Are Your Friends. The actor, however, is open to being reunited with his former castmates and doing another installment of the successful Disney movie. He told E! News, “We’re all thinking about it. I continue to see all the guys from High School. Every time we do…there’s just this look between us. It’s so cool because we never forget a single moment of that experience.”

  • Kendall Jenner Drops Her Last Name To Boost Modeling Career

Kendall Jenner Drops Her Last Name To Boost Modeling Career

In what others are saying is a bid to move away from her reality TV show persona, Kendall Jenner has dropped her last name to be known just by her first in the modeling world. The half-sister of Kim Kardashian is now known simply as Kendall, and her parents are reportedly supportive of her career move.

A source close to the Kardashian family told HollywoodLife.com that Kendall’s parents aren’t bothered by the name change. “Bruce isn’t upset at all and Kris doesn’t care — she’s just thrilled at how successful she’s become in the modeling industry. She’s very proud of her,” said the source.

Kendall’s modeling agency, The Society Management, first announced the name change on their website when they posted a profile for her titled “Kendall”.

“She just wants some independence from her family. Everyone in the business refers to her on a first-name basis, anyway,” said another source to HollywoodLife.com. The source likened Kendall’s first-name move to that of legendary models Twiggy and Giselle, adding that it helps Kendall with her goal of making a name independently from her famous relatives.

Kendall reportedly said that she had been using the single name for months and that she first tried it when she debuted in the fashion world by walking for designers Marc Jacobs and Giles. “I did it last year at all the castings, too! I only go by my first name,” she told Us Weekly.

The 18-year-old model also revealed to Teen Vogue recently that her famous last name has hindered her, not helped her in her modeling career, despite people thinking the opposite was true. “People didn’t want to take a chance on me, I think because I was sort of known. They were a little bit on the fence about it. Some people might think that what I’ve done before made it easier for me to get jobs, but it was actually a disadvantage. I had to work even harder,” she said.

  • Japanese Porn Queens Raise Their Shirts And Raise Money For AIDS Prevention

In order to raise funds for the prevention of AIDS, a group of Japanese porn stars allowed their breasts to be fondled at a charity event called “Boob Aid” on August 30 and 31 in Tokyo. The women raised tens of thousands of dollars by raising their shirts and having their breasts touched for 1,000 yen (roughly $10) or more.

The event was part of a 24-hours “Stop AIDS!” campaign in Tokyo that was streamed live on a Japanese adult cable channel and backed by the Japan Foundation for AIDS Prevention. It was launched in 2003 and is now on its 12th year of raising funds for AIDS prevention.

The Japanese women all wore identical yellow shirts, which they rolled up as people lined up to touch the revealed breasts. The porn queens flashed big smiles and were evidently happy to support an important cause. “It’s for charity. Squeeze them, donate money — let’s be happy,” said 21-year-old Iku Sakuragi.

Fans who wanted to take part in the charity event were required to use hand sanitizer before touching the porn actresses’ breasts. As of Sunday evening, almost 6,000 pairs of hands had participated over a period of 15 hours, and about $50,000 was raised for the charity one hour before closing.

One fan was seen putting his hands together in prayer before and after touching breasts. There were also some women seen lining up for Boob Aid, causing one of the porn queens to remark, “Wow, I’m happy. I want her to touch my breasts!”

Before the event, porn queen Rina Serina was optimistic about Boob Aids’ success. “I’m really looking forward to lots of people fondling my boobs. But I would be very happy if you would please be delicate,” she told Tokyo Sports. “I never thought my boobs could contribute to society.”

  • Amber Portwood: ‘Teen Mom’ Star Releases New Tell-All Book About Her Life Struggles

Amber Portwood, star of the hit reality TV show Teen Mom on MTV, has recently launched her memoir Never Too Late on Amazon.com. The book discusses some very difficult points in her life, including her stints on the MTV shows 16 And Pregnant and Teen Mom as well as her struggle with drug addiction and her 17 months in prison.

Portwood revealed in an interview with MTV News that she wrote the book because she thought it was an important step to connecting more closely with her fans. “I had been thinking about writing a book since my stay in prison. I felt it was time when I got out to actually do it. I think my book is able to give strength and determination to those who are struggling,” she said.

Her five-year-old daughter, Leah is reportedly impressed that her mother had written the book. “She thinks it’s neat. She said, ‘I’m in a story like the books I read!’ She’s adorable,” Portwood said.

The 24-year-old reality TV star is also receiving kudos and support from an unlikely source: her Teen Mom co-star Farrah Abraham. Although Portwood and Abraham sometimes did not get along on the show, Abraham recently told RadarOnline that she was confident that her co-star would achieve sobriety. “I have faith in the strength Amber has to overcome all of her past habits. Sobriety should be easy for her,” she said.

The porn star and aspiring singer has also expressed interest in reconnecting with Portwood, saying, “We are older and have been through so much for the better and will always be able to catch up with each other like it was yesterday.”

Abraham was reportedly fired from the show by MTV because her co-stars couldn’t stand her return. Portwood, along with Catelynn Lowell and Maci Bookout, allegedly threatened to leave the show if Abraham was allowed to come back because they didn’t like Abraham’s bad behavior.

  • Katie Couric: Did She Say Diane Sawyer Traded Sexual Favors For Stories?

In a book coming out in September titled The News Sorority, author Sheila Weller claims that CBS News anchor Katie Couric once made a snide remark about rival Diane Sawyer’s technique in getting stories. The incident involved Sawyer landing an interview with a 54-year-old woman who had just given birth to twins. When Couric heard about it, she allegedly remarked, “I wonder who she blew this time to get it.”

The book is a tell-all about three of the most powerful female newscasters in television today: Couric, Sawyer and CNN’s Christiane Amanpour. It details the careers of these women and the bitter rivalries that some of them encountered in their rise to the top. None of the respected newscasters end up blemish-free in the book, but several stories were revealed about Couric’s career that painted her in unfavorable light.

Her controversial move to CBS News after years on NBC’s TODAY was also discussed in the book. Couric earned $15 million when she made the switch, but was also much talked about when she did so. Couric reportedly reacted to the controversy by comparing herself to Hillary Clinton. “Katie deeply related to Hillary; she felt she was being pummeled as the first female anchor just like Clinton was being pummeled as the first major female presidential candidate,” Weller wrote.

She also claimed in the book that Couric had bullied co-host Ann Curry while they were both on TODAY. She described one tactic of Couric’s to throw Curry “off balance,” which was to criticize “Ann’s clothing choices just before they went on air.”

Couric, Sawyer and Amanpour as well as their representatives declined to make a comment about the book. However, a source close to Couric reportedly told The Hollywood Reporter, “It’s sad that‎ the author and her PR team continue to alienate their target audience by relying on classic anti-feminist caricatures, tabloid-like misrepresentations and outright falsehoods about these three extraordinary women.”

  • Joan Rivers Still In A Coma, Family Remains Hopeful

Fashion Police host and veteran comedienne Joan Rivers is still under a medically induced coma, but her family remains optimistic that she will wake up. According to The Associated Press, Rivers’ daughter Melissa gave a statement on her mother’s condition on Sunday, saying, “We are keeping our fingers crossed.”

The younger Rivers also thanked fans and well-wishers for their “continued love and support” in the statement, which was posted on her mother’s website. “My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world,” she wrote. “Her condition remains serious but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery.”

The comedy legend was reportedly undergoing a procedure on her vocal chords at a clinic in New York when she suddenly went into cardiac arrest last Thursday. She was reported to have stopped breathing during the procedure and was then rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital. The incident happened just one day after Rivers appeared at an employee event for Time Inc., where witnesses said she appeared well. The news of her condition has affected fans and colleagues of Rivers, many of whom expressed their support for her recovery on social media sites. Rivers’ Fashion Police co-host, Giuliana Rancic, tweeted on Saturday, “Praying for @Joan_Rivers and @MelRivers. Even though Joan’s the strongest woman I know, every single prayer counts. I love you, Joan.”

The third host of E!’s fashion series also tweeted about praying for Rivers’ recuperation. “4 the first time in years I got down on my knees & prayed tonight! I encourage U 2 do the same 4 @Joan_Rivers my grandma! #inconsolable,” wrote Kelly Osbourne.

Melissa Rivers will reportedly be making a decision in the following days on whether she will be taking her mother off life support.

  • Mariah Carey Is Reportedly Finalizing Her Split With Nick Cannon

The marriage of singer Mariah Carey, 45, and TV host Nick Cannon, 33, may be coming to an end. The two have reportedly met over details of the divorce. The couple reportedly held a meeting on Tuesday at Carey’s New York City apartment to talk about their divorce agreement.

According to a source that spoke to E! News, one of the stipulations that the couple discussed was that only one announcement for the divorce would be made, and it would be made by Carey’s team. “Nick said he was fine with this. He knows he really upset her by speaking out of turn last week and has apologized for it,” the source said.

Cannon told The Insider on August 21 that he and Carey had not been sleeping in the same house in recent months. “There is trouble in paradise,” he said.

A source told HollywoodLife.com that the marriage had suffered because of the increasing number of fights between Carey and her husband. “They both didn’t want to live under the same roof if they’d be fighting. They didn’t want the staff to know and of course they kept that away from the kids,” said the source.

However, it is clear that the couple is putting aside their differences in order to give top priority to their children, three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe. E! News’s source said, “She told him she needed to get out of town and she was taking the kids with her. Nick was fine with it.” The source went on to reveal that Cannon “thinks [Carey’s] a good mom,” and that he isn’t worried about their children’s welfare when they are with her.

Carey was spotted on Friday with the twins, having lunch at Da Mikele in Tribeca and without her wedding ring. A witness told People that the singer and her children “seemed happy and like they were having a good time.” Meanwhile, Cannon was also seen not wearing his wedding ring while he hosted the August 26 episode of America’s Got Talent.

  • Jay Z and Beyonce May Have Pulled ‘A Jedi Mind Trick’ On Us

Matthew Knowles, father and former manager of Beyonce, recently revealed his theory that the divorce rumors of the singer and her rapper husband Jay Z were “a Jedi mind trick.” Knowles claims that the rumors were orchestrated to drive sales up for the couple’s joint On The Run world tour.

As a guest on The Roula & Ryan Show on 104.1 KRBE in Houston, Knowles was asked by host Roula Christie how to deal in public relations with controversies such as the elevator incident between Solange Knowles and Jay Z or the divorce rumors surrounding his daughter and her husband. The elder Knowles replied, “I know—because we’ve done this, from experience—there’s a tour going on. So you have to sometimes ignite that tour. It’s called a Jedi mind trick. And the Jedi mind trick fools you a lot of times.”

One of the hosts then asked Knowles if it could be true that Beyonce, her sister and Jay Z staged and leaked the video of their fight in the elevator at an after-party of the Met Ball in New York. “All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everybody’s talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200 percent,” Knowles replied.

TMZ reported that Knowles had also tried to spark rumors about a Destiny’s Child reunion during the interview, since he claimed to still be their manager. However, he has not managed Beyonce’s career for years, although he said that he and his daughter talk every Sunday. “She’s still the humble, generous person that she’s always been,” he said.

Knowles’ interview happened days after Beyonce performed at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 24, where she was presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award by her husband Jay Z. He was carrying their daughter, Blue Ivy, when he joined Beyonce onstage and called her the “greatest living entertainer”. Beyonce kissed both Jay Z and Blue Ivy and called her husband “my beloved” in her acceptance speech.

  • Charlize Theron Bashes Beauty Industry’s Preference For Younger Women

Charlize Theron was recently interviewed by Women’s Wear Daily, where she bashed the beauty industry’s preference for women in their twenties.

Theron thinks women come into their prime in their forties – after learning from life’s challenges that would have made them wiser and much more beautiful in and out.

“It’s ironic that we’ve built the beauty world around 20-year-olds, when they have no f–kin’ concept about wisdom, what life is about, having a few relationships below [their] belt and feeling hardships, to grow into [their] skin and feel confident within [themselves] and to feel the value of who [they] are, not because of a man or because of something like that. And I think that’s such a beautiful thing,” she continued.

“I can say this now, since I’m almost 40 and I’ve worked with a lot of design houses and a lot of people within that world. There are very, very few brands that will be brave enough to really, completely take a step back and not to try and control what is considered beautiful,” said Theron, who has been the face of the J’Adore Dior fragrance for a decade. It is believed she is planning to tie the knot with boyfriend actor Sean Penn next year.

The 39-year-old South African native added that these reasons are why she feels women really come into their own later in life.

“And that’s why I think people say women come into their prime in their forties. And then for some reason our society just wants to go… It’s such a misconception, and it’s such a lost opportunity because that’s when I think women are really in the true moment of their sensuality…”

On being a mother to two-year-old son Jackson, the actress says she wants to be an example of someone who has truly lived life. “I want him to grow up with a mom that he could see and look at her life with all the mistakes and with all the failures and all the flaws and say, ‘My mom lived an authentic life. That was the life she wanted to live.’”

  • Sarah Silverman: Barefoot And Stoned At The Emmys?

Comedienne Sarah Sliverman looked stunning as she walked the red carpet of the Emmy Awards held last Monday, wearing a cleavage-revealing green gown. However, it was the contents of her elegant clutch that got people buzzing.

While being interviewed by E! News’s Giuliana Rancic during the channel’s coverage of the Emmys red carpet, Silverman was asked by the host to show what was in her clutch bag. She complied with the request and brought out a vaporizer pen that she said was filled with “liquid pot”.

Her odd behavior when she won and accepted an Emmy for writing the HBO comedy special Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles only encouraged speculation that she had used her vape pen during the show. First, she ran up the stage barefoot to accept her award, then gave a speech that contained the statement, “We’re all just made of molecules and we’re hurtling through space right now.”

However, Silverman denied that she had a few puffs before the show. Backstage, after winning her Emmy, she was asked by reporters about her vape pen. “I had pot for later in my purse. It’s legal and I don’t drink. I like to have a puff as a treat at appropriate times,” she explained.

She confirmed this later in the night for TMZ when she said, “I like to have a little pop-a-roonie end of night, when all is said and done, because I’m a grown woman.”

Despite Silverman’s insistence that she was sober during her speech, other actors enjoyed her antics. Anna Kendrick showed her support for Silverman by tweeting, “Live your life girl!” She also tweeted, “Girl, you might be drunk but you look FLY” #JRoberts.

Vaporizer pens work by heating up a concentrated marijuana oil enough so that it vaporizes and can be inhaled directly. They are said to be less harmful on the lungs and are discreet ways of consuming marijuana. Silverman reportedly has a prescription for marijuana in California, making her consumption of it legal.

  • Gwen Stefani Made A Flub At The Emmys, But What Happened To Her Face?

Rocker Gwen Stefani of No Doubt made a mess when she presented an award to Stephen Colbert at the 2014 Emmy Awards last Monday, but the star is joining in the fun made at her expense.

On the final episode of Chelsea Lately on Tuesday, Stefani made fun of her Emmys mistake when she introduced the show’s last musical number. She introduced talk show host Chelsea Handler as “Chelsea Hammer,” which got the audience laughing in their seats. The joke was in reference to her mispronunciation of Colbert’s name as “Col-bort” at the Emmys.

Colbert didn’t seem to be bothered by the flub, and even joked about it himself. “(She’s) evidently not a huge fan of the show. But I’m a huge fan of hers. I want to get her abs. That’s what I aspire to,” he said. When the Emmy-winning show The Colbert Report aired on Tuesday night, he and show runners displayed a sense of humor when they spelled Colbert’s name as “Colbore” in the show’s opening credits.

The subtle joke was a nod to Stefani’s name flub. After she made her mistake on Monday night, her co-presenter Adam Levine reportedly teased her onstage. Jimmy Fallon also couldn’t resist using the incident as an excuse to interrupt Colbert’s acceptance speech to joke about their impending late night talk show rivalry.

Voices on the Internet are reportedly likening Stefani’s mistake to John Travolta’s flub at the Oscars earlier this year when he mispronounced Idina Menzel’s name as “Adele Dazeem”.

But Stefani’s mistake wasn’t the only thing on netizens’ minds during the Emmys. Tweets speculating on whether the 44-year-old rocker had work done on her face have cropped up online, saying she was “unrecognizable”. Stefani had also attended the MTV Video Music Awards for the first time since 2005 the night before the Emmys, and her looks elicited the same reaction.

  • Sarah Hyland And Boyfriend Matt Prokop Break Up, Shows Up To Emmys Solo

Sarah Hyland was seen at the Emmys without longtime boyfriend Matt Prokop. Reports confirm that the two are no longer a couple, after being together for over five years.

Hyland’s rep told ABC News: They broke up.

Hyland and Prokop first met in 2008, during an audition for Disney’s High School Musical. They later starred together in Disney Channel’s Original Movie Geek Charming and have been together since.

“We had our first formal date at Casa Vega, this little Mexican place. We got to talking and I think it was on the date that we realized we didn’t have to work to impress each other,” Prokop reportedly told Seventeen in 2012, when asked about how they got together. “We were both there for the right reasons. It just felt so natural.”

The twosome started living together in 2011. The Vampire Academy star then said she and her then-beau were raising a pet dog and were “practically married.”

“Pros: It’s cheaper,” Hyland has said about their moving in. “Cons: We’re both really lazy. So, laundry and dishes, we complain about that.”

When the actress was hospitalized for a kidney transplant in 2012, she even told Seventeen magazine that she was grateful to have Prokop’s attentive support:

“He helps me with my medication and takes me to doctor appointments and all the stuff that I need to do to take care of myself,” Hyland said. “Any other 21-year-old guy would not be there, I guarantee it. I am one of the luckiest people in the world to have him be there for me.”

On Tuesday, E! News reported that the break-up has not been unpleasant for the couple. “She is having a good time right now. They thought they would be better off as friends,” according to their source “It was amicable.”

There are no reports about the cause of the break up, although judging from the recent Emmys, it looks as though Hyland is not very sad about it. She was seen all smiles celebrating the night away with the rest of the Modern Family cast.

  • James Earl Jones Is Back On Broadway In “You Can’t Take It With You”

An eminent actor and the one who gave a distinct voice to the character of Darth Vader, James Earl Jones is making a big comeback on Broadway, where he debuted in 1957. Jones is headlining the Broadway revival of the comedic play You Can’t Take It With You, where he plays the eccentric patriarch of an equally quirky family in Manhattan. The play opens on September 28, but preview performances at the Longacre Theatre began on August 26.

The legendary actor is joined by a powerhouse cast that includes Golden Globe nominee Rose Byrne (making her Broadway debut), Tony Award nominee Kristine Nielsen, Tony Award nominee Annaleigh Ashford, and Tony Award winner Elizabeth Ashley. Byrne plays the role of Alice, the daughter who seems the most normal in the family.

You Can’t Take It With You won the Pulitzer Prize for drama after it premiered on Broadway at the Booth Theatre in 1936. Written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, the play was also adapted to film in 1938, and won an Academy Award. It portrays how the eccentric and freethinking Sycamore family acts when the daughter brings her fiancé’s conservative parents over to dinner on the wrong night. The play was last staged on Broadway in 1983 and returns this year helmed by six-time Tony Award nominated director Scott Ellis.

The production featuring Jones has teamed up with the Humane Society for the kittens who will be featured in the show. In the play, Jones’ character is constantly surrounded by kittens. These kittens will be replaced as they age and offered for adoption to interested audience members.

Ellis has enlisted the services of scenic designer David Rockwell, costume designer Jane Greenwood and composer Jason Robert Brown to round out the revival production of You Can’t Take It With You.

  • Julia Louis-Dreyfus Engages In 11-Second Lip-Lock Before Accepting Emmy Award

For the third year in a row, Julia Louis-Dreyfus brought home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. This is no surprise to most of us who have loved her since Elaine Benes in Seinfeld, or those who remember her from SNL before that.

Officially America’s new queen of television comedy, Louis-Dreyfus now broke the record previously held by -none other than- Lucille Ball, by being nominated 15 times for acting in comedies. (JLD has three other nominations as a producer). She also made history for being the first actress to ever win five Emmys for three different series.

More surprising than her Emmy award for her role as Veep’s Selina Meyer was the gag she and her co-presenter Bryan Cranston planned, and executed, which concluded in an intensely passionate kiss.

The Breaking Bad actor was co-presenting with Louis-Dreyfus earlier in the telecast where he mentioned the time he played her love interest in an episode of Seinfeld. He guest starred as a joke-loving dentist who once kissed her character Elaine. Louis-Dreyfus claimed not to remember the episode.

As a reminder, he later cut the actress off on her way up to receive her Emmy with an 11-second kiss.

“Well, I think it’s not a question of why, but more a question of why not?” Cranston later jokingly remarked.

Reporters backstage also learned how Louis-Dreyfus carefully planned the gag:

“…I asked my husband if he was OK with that and he said sure and Bryan checked with his wife and she said sure. … Obviously, I might not have won. That was very stiff competition. So we worked it so that the presenting stuff would hopefully have worked on its own.”

Elsewhere on Twitter, VP Joe Biden was quick to send his congratulations for Louis-Dreyfus’ win too:

“Congrats @OfficialJLD. A fellow Veep with a great sense of humor, and a good friend. #Emmys,”

The comedianne however, was quick to correct his slip. “Actually I’m the president now. But thx!” she tweetted back, as a reminder that Meyer has been promoted to the Oval Office at the close of this latest season.

  • Miley Cyrus Lets Homeless Man Accept Her VMA Award; He’s Also Wanted By Police

After moving the world by letting a homeless man accept her award for Video of The Year at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, Miley Cyrus is now facing controversy. Reports say that the man who went on stage is wanted in Oregon. Jesse Helt, 22, was the homeless man who represented one of Cyrus’ causes, the drop-in center for homeless youth, My Friend’s Place. He accepted the award on Cyrus’ behalf for her “Wrecking Ball” video.

Helt was arrested on charges of criminal mischief and criminal trespass when he was 18 years old in 2010, according to court reports. He allegedly broke into the apartment of a man who had sold him “bad marijuana”. He was sentenced in November 2010 to 30 days in county jail, fined and ordered to pay restitution, as well as placed on probation for a year.

A warrant of arrest was issued for him in 2011 when he violated probation by repeatedly failing to meet with his probation officer. Helt will be arrested by Oregon police when they catch up with him, said Polk County Director of Community Corrections Martin Silbernagel on Tuesday.

When asked for a reaction to the reports on Helt, Cyrus’ representative pointed at the tweets of the singer on Monday. Cyrus tweeted, “People who are homeless have lived very hard lives. Jesse included. I hope that this can be the start of a national conversation about youth homelessness and how to end it. Does looking down upon the homeless help people excuse their inaction?”

Cyrus had given Helt some money to fly back to his hometown in Salem, Oregon, to visit his family, according to Helt’s mother. Authorities visited Helt’s family home on Tuesday but didn’t find him there. Detective John Williams spoke with the family and notified them that he was looking for Helt.

  • Katt Williams Says “Nobody” Shot Suge Knight [VIDEO]

In an interview with TMZ on the street, comedian Katt Williams appears sober and solemn. He claims that Suge Knight was not the intended target of the shooting that happened at Chris Brown’s pre-VMAs bash at 1OAK nightclub in Los Angeles last Sunday. Williams claimed that he was with Knight at the party when the Death Row Records founder was reportedly shot six times.

Williams was asked by TMZ if he knew who shot Knight, and he replied, “I’m pretty sure Suge knows who shot Suge.” He said that Knight had taken the bullet for the real target of the shooting, although he stopped short of identifying the intended target for reporters.

“Now if you’re an idiot you can believe this was about Suge Knight … Suge Knight has been accessible every day of his life for 20 years. We know who it was aimed at. We know whose life he saved. And we know why they won’t talk about it,” Williams said.

He also maintained that the shooting was not gang-related, citing the fact that no shots were fired back at the perpetrators by supposed gang members. “If it was gang-related then why didn’t it happen thoroughly? You see there’s parts of this story that just don’t seem to make sense. You’re saying it was gang-related. So, that means somebody’s gang was shooting at somebody’s gang and somebody’s gang didn’t shoot back. That’s your story? That’s not really how gang stuff works, is it?”

He also expressed skepticism for the police’s ability to find the shooters in a long rant about “nobody” having shot Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X, likening this to “nobody” shooting Knight.

Knight recently underwent surgery at Cedars-Sinai Hospital for his injuries and is currently recovering. His family released a statement asking for privacy, saying, “Suge is currently resting and has lost a lot of blood, he’s human. He’s done a lot of things for the community and the culture as a whole so we ask that you respect that.”

  • Julia Roberts Surprises In Beaded Cocktail Dress At Emmys

Pretty Woman Julia Roberts was definitely among the best dressed on the 2014 Primetime Emmy red carpet in her Elie Saab Haute Couture frock. Judging by how she held her own among many actresses half her age, we are not surprised that she has been listed for a record of eleven times as one of  People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People in the World”.

There were initial rumors that the 46-year-old A-lister would don menswear or that she’d go for a simple black ensemble, but she surprised everyone –and turned heads– with this un-expected ruffled winner.

Embellished with oversized yet classy statement beading, the short cocktail dress shows plenty of leg and features a plunging neckline, which Roberts was able to carry off in style with peep toe stilettoes.

She kept her hairstyle simple, opting for flowing bright blonde locks and her make-up was very subdued. Her smile shone with barely-there color on her lips, as did her eyes in fresh mascara. To complete the look, the actress wore drop earrings and a statement ring.

E! News reports that Roberts chose a short dress to avoid any potential falling. “It’s nerve-wracking to wear long. There’s the tripping factor.” said the Erin Brockovich actress.

E! News further asked what the actress planned to do with the dress after the awards night. Roberts answered: “I’ll just pack it up for my daughter when she’s tall enough to wear it. That’s the whole point, isn’t it?”

Roberts was tasked to present an award and was in fact among the very first presenters to be chosen for the 2014 Primetime Emmys. She was also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a TV Miniseries or a Movie for HBO’s The Normal Heart. The Normal Heart is a made for TV drama directed by Ryan Murphy and written by Larry Kramer. It was based on Kramer’s own 1985 play of same name. The film also stars Mark Ruffalo, Jonathan Groff and Matt Bomer among others.

  • Paula Patton Finally Shows Her Face In Public After Split With Robin Thicke

After months of keeping a low profile in the aftermath of her split with husband Robin Thicke, Paula Patton stepped out to attend the Emmys HBO Party on Monday. The 38-year-old actor was seen smiling and laughing as she spoke to fellow celebrities and industry insiders at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, apparently in good spirits. She looked stylish in a see-through black mini dress and black pumps, and ready to mingle after staying out of the Hollywood spotlight for months.

The last time that Patton was at a red carpet event was on March 2 at the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, which happened days after she and singer Thicke announced their separation. Before that, she had also attended the Independent Spirit Awards, which was her first red carpet event since the breakup.

At the time, Patton and Thicke released a statement that said, “We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.” The couple had been high-school sweethearts and married for nine years before Patton allegedly decided to leave Thicke because she could no longer handle the rumors of him cheating on her.

Soon after that, Thicke launched a campaign to win her back by releasing his album Paula. He was reportedly making shoutouts to her during his promotional tour for the album, but Patton’s retreat from the public eye during this time indicated that she wasn’t responding to his efforts. Thicke admitted in a Hot 97 interview in July that he had not seen Patton in four months. The prospect of a reunion for the two is also made bleak by the fact that they recently put their Los Angeles home on sale.

Patton and Thicke have one child together, Julian Fuego, who is four years old.

  • Duck Dynasty Clan Supports Relative Zach Dasher In Election Bid

On Thursday, Zack Dasher launched his campaign to become the next representative of Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District in Baton Rouge. Dasher is the nephew of Phil Robertson, star of famed reality TV series Duck Dynasty. Robertson is backing his relative in the race.

When Dasher qualified on Thursday, his Duck Dynasty relatives were nowhere in sight, and only his immediate family was beside him as he filed his paperwork. But in May, at the Republican Leadership Conference, Dasher introduced Robertson, showing that he had his uncle and his family’s support for his campaign.

“[The Robertsons] have maxed out in contributions, and they’ll be on the campaign trail as well. They’re going to be involved as much as they possibly can,” said Dasher. The Republican candidate joked about his famous relatives, saying, “I’m going to bring in Si my chief strategy consultant, and Phil will obviously be my PR consultant since he’s so good with the press.”

The support of the Robertsons for Dasher’s campaign will be very real, though, as they did it before when they previously campaigned for Rep. Vance McAllister when he ran in a special election last year. The Duck Dynasty stars will not be supporting McAllister this year after he became embroiled in controversy surrounding the release of a surveillance tape that showed him giving a passionate kiss to a female aid.

McAllister in turn said he harbored no hard feelings for the Robertson clan, since they were supporting a family member. “They wouldn’t be the family I know them to be if they didn’t support a family member,” he said.

Dasher revealed that his uncle Phil will be heavily involved in his campaign, which centers on bringing Christian values back to Washington D.C. “But being related to Phil doesn’t make me qualified to be the next congressman. What it does is it gives me this platform to promote that our rights do not come from man, they come from God… I’m someone who will fight to dismantle the federal takeover of state rights and restore God back to government,” he said.

  • Foley Execution Video: Forensics Experts Believe Beheading Was Staged

The horrific footage of the beheading of American journalist James Foley is being analyzed by federal investigators, who have identified the social media account that originally posted the video. The person who posted the video is part of a group of Islamic extremists that are close to the leadership of the Islamic State group, formerly known as ISIS.

Fox News reported that a counterterrorism source revealed that the information suggests that top Islamic State leaders such as Abu Omar al Baghdadi gave their blessing to the operation to kill Foley.

Foley was kidnapped in 2012 while he was reporting on the uprising that took place in Syria. His captors reportedly demanded $132.5 million from his parents and concessions from Washington, but Islamic State posted the video online last week to show his execution.

Meanwhile, the UK Times reported that forensics experts have suggested that the Foley execution video was staged to look like the journalist was killed during filming. The experts said that it was likely that Foley was executed off-camera.

“After enhancements, the knife can be seen to be drawn across the upper neck at least six times, with no blood evidence to the point the picture fades to black,” said a forensic analyst to the British newspaper. He also cited blips in Foley’s speech that suggested that the journalist may have had to repeat a line.

The British forensics company, however, clarified that were not disputing the fact that an execution of Foley had happened at some point.

Foley’s parents, Diane and John Foley, believe that their son’s death poses a challenge to people to raise awareness on what is happening in the Middle East. “So many people are suffering in the Middle East right now, and there are many hostages being held captive, so this is a mass for all of those who are hoping for peace, and also in Jim’s memory,” said Diane at a healing mass held for Foley.
