Idina Menzel Clears Rumors About Frozen Sequel

Idina Menzel who voiced Princess Elsa in last year’s hit Disney pic Frozen remains unsure about the status of the sequel to the original film. In an interview with Here & Now, the 43-year-old singer-actress backtracked her claims that a sequel is in the works. “I said ‘I’m sure something’s in the works,’” she explained her Telegraph interview that was made headlines last week.

“I just assume that because it’s so successful that that’s what they’re up to.”

The former Broadway star reiterated that it’s up to Disney if they want to create a follow-up to the massively successful 3-D animated film. Frozen captured the hearts of children everywhere and ended up earning more than $1.2 billion dollars at the box office, making it the highest grossing animated film of all time.

Even if there’s no confirmation about the sequel yet, Menzel expressed her interest in returning for the sequel to voice one of the princesses featured in the film. “We’ll see. I’m just going along for the ride,” she said during her appearance on The Today Show.

The Academy Award winning film will be translated into a Broadway show next year. Analysts from the House of Mouse reported that the film is now considered as one of the company’s top 5 franchises. Disney Chairman and Chief Executive Robert Iger said that fans should expect that Disney would take advantage of the popularity status of the series.

Menzel performed the hit song “Let It Go” at the CMA Country Christmas show that aired on ABC. She shared the stage with Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles who also hosted the program. Menzel is busy promoting her new Christmas album called “Holiday Wishes” which she had dedicated to her lovely five-year old son. “The holidays were always a weird time for me, so now that I have a little boy, it’s sort of an opportunity to rewrite that.”

  • Lauren Hill’s Cancer Worsens, Now In Hospice

Lauren Hill, the 19-year-old freshman from Cincinnati who inspired millions when she played in a Division III basketball game with Mount St. Joseph despite her ongoing bouts against cancer, was entered into hospice care due to complications related to her brain tumor.

On the Lauren’s Fight for Cure Facebook page, Hill’s family posted an entry last Monday that shed light on the current condition of the young basketballer. “We are excited to have additional resources coming to our home. We have already been able to get supplies to help make things easier here at home,” the post read.

The family said that Hill has been “in good spirits” during the week and that she keeps busy by getting involved in special projects. The teenager was previously spotted at a game against Bethany College last Nov. 21 where the player received a rousing cheer from the crowd after she scored a layup against the competing team.

“Today is another battle,” said the teen in the opening moments of her recent short documentary on ESPN.com. “Sometimes I’m winning, sometimes I won’t admit that I’m losing, but it’s a constant struggle.” Hill’s family reports that she’s experiencing severe symptoms from her inoperable cancer. Hill continues to endure headaches, dizziness, and general lack of energy, but the teenager works hard to be in a “funny, goofy mood.”

Hill made headlines after raising more than $324,000 for cancer research and treatment. Fans of the inspiring basketball player are hopeful that she stays alive and healthy even after the doctors told her that she is not expected to live beyond December. November 2 was a monumental day for the teen as she hit the court to play for her college team. Despite her serious condition, Hill was all smiles and was full of energy throughout the course of the game, making her a beacon of hope for those struggling with the same illness.

  • Man Killed With Hammer Near Ferguson; Was This A Hate Crime?

Just 20 miles away from Ferguson where protests and riots started after the tragic police shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown, a small group of people gathered in St. Louis to protest the most recent hate crime that shook the town.

32-year-old Zemir Begic, an immigrant from war-torn Bosnia was allegedly killed last Sunday by a group of hammer-wielding teenagers. According to a police report, the incident occurred while Begic was driving with his fiancé, Arijana Mujkanovic and a friend in St. Louis. Five teenagers began pounding Begic’s vehicle with the hammer prompting the Bosnian to confront the teenagers. Instead of stopping, the group struck him with hammers, causing his death at a nearby hospital.

“The last thing he did before he actually died was pull me out of the way and put himself in front of me, basically giving up his life for me,” Mujkanovic tearfully recounted in an interview with KSDK. Begic was called by his younger brothers as a “role model and a hero,” and his family believes that the incident was part of a string of previous crimes that involved poor minorities and Bosnians in the southwest side of the city.

The police believes that the attack was not racially motivated, but Begic’s family thinks otherwise. The victim’s family is calling on authorities to investigate all possible motives for the crime. Three suspects have been caught by the authorities and a fourth one remains at large. Robert Joseph Mitchell, a 17-year-old has been slapped with first-degree murder and armed criminal charges the morning after the attack. Two teenagers aged 15 and 16 are also in custody.

In a statement released by St. Louis Police spokeswoman Schron Jackson, she mentioned that the crime had no “connection to [Begic] being of Bosnian descent.” She added that the crime was not in any way connected to the riots that happened in Ferguson.

Lachey is all smiles on the cover of this month’s issue of American Baby where she shared her excitement for baby number two. She recently shared the cover to all her followers on Twitter and wrote: “Baby girl’s 1st cover with mama!”

In the interview, Lachey told the magazine how couples should avoid getting stressed over an upcoming baby.   “Once Camden was born, certain fears calmed down. I no longer thought, ‘Will I be able to do this?’ My instincts really did kick in. We stumble and make mistakes, too, but that’s what learning is. That’s the beauty of it,” she said.

Nick Lachey recently released a brand new covers album last November and expressed his excitement for his upcoming daughter in an interview with RadarOnline: “Everyone tells me there’s just something different about having a little girl. So I’m excited to experience a different kind of love.”

  • Lisa Edelstein Stars In Bravo’s First Scripted Drama Series

Lisa Edelstein is making a comeback to television almost two years after she ended her stint as Dr. Lisa Cuddy in the award-winning show House. Edelstein stars in Bravo’s first scripted television show called Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce.

The cable network is mostly known for their slew of popular reality shows like The Real Housewives series, but in Guide, they will provide another dose of female power for their avid viewers. Edelstein plays Abby McCarthy, a self-help author who is currently undergoing a painful divorce from her stay-at-home husband. The series will see the character’s struggles as she reunites with her co-divorcees played by Janeane Garofalo and Beau Garrett.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Edelstein talked about her excitement about the new show. “The writing is so smart, raw and funny; it’s everything that you could wish for in a show,” she praised. “It’s the tragic reality of life sometimes, where ridiculous things happen or you get in certain situations that are unavoidable.”

The show was described by Edelstein as “multicolored” and “multifaceted.” Although it is the first scripted show from the network, Edelstein is confident that Guide will resonate among Bravo’s most avid viewers. One fan that she met recently even claimed that the show will be a hit simply because “it’s on Bravo!”

Guide was described by Edelstein as being closer to HBO’s female-centric programs like Girls and Sex and the City than Bravo’s reality programming. The promotional materials for the upcoming show was met with much criticism and were banned in a few cities after it depicted Edelstein holding up her ring finger on the poster. Edelstein recommended seeing the show first before making quick assumptions about her new program. “People had opinions on either side of the argument as to whether it was mocking marriage, but no one had seen the show, which does not mock marriage, by the way.”

Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce airs every Tuesday at 10 PM.

  • Sierra Leone: The Battle Against Ebola Rages On

More than half of Sierra Leone’s population is under quarantine as the Ebola outbreak continues to cause deaths in the country. The outbreak has claimed more than 1,400 deaths so far, forcing the health ministry to mandate a strict lockdown for hundreds of thousands of citizens in the area.

The Tonkolili District was the latest area to be sealed shut, allowing no one to leave or enter without official papers from the local government. The country’s efforts to end the outbreak started in September and has now sealed more than one million people inside their respective homes and communities. From the northern part in Bombali to the southern district of Moyamba, residents of the 6 districts under the quarantine are currently struggling with what little support that they are being given.

The local government is still concerned about individuals who choose to ignore the mandated quarantine. Last week, Aminata Bangura, a fifteen year old teenager died of suspected Ebola. While the rest of her family was told to stay indoors, some members were reportedly ignoring the quarantine, choosing to go about their normal routines like running a local hairdressing business and attending the mosque.

Godfrey Kamara, a local headmaster who is now an anti-Ebola campaigner, continues to remind his community about the precautions that they need to consider. “I’ve been house to house telling them not to touch bodies, but they still do it,” he said. “It’s not working. When they’re quarantined people should stay around and have security. And they still wash the dead.”

At Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone, Ebola burial teams collect about 60 deceased bodies from their daily routes. They treat every death as a suspicious case even if the person died of an accident or through natural causes. The burial teams were dispatched to collect bodies as some residents are still following traditional funeral rites, which involves washing the dead bodies. It has been reported by BBC that at least 20% of the new cases stemmed from this practice, causing the outbreak to spread further.

Another problem lies at the lack of doctors and nurses who are working to manage the outbreak. Just last week, Dr. Komba Songu-M’briwa of the Hastings Ebola Treatment Center tested positive for Ebola. He pointed out the poor conditions of the understaffed center where he and his co-workers continued to treat and diagnose patients even with limited supplies.

The country only had about 130 doctors serving almost 6 million people. They had already lost seven doctors to the deadly outbreak leaving Dr. M’briwa praying that he gets well. “It’s not going to stop me. I am not going to relent,” he said in an interview.

  • Scarlett Johansson Secretly Tied The Knot With French Journalist In October

Hollywood’s long list of secret weddings just got another addition. Scarlett Johansson got married to French journalist Romain Dauriac two months ago according to a report from Page Six.

The wedding happened on October 1, just barely a month after the Lucy star gave birth to her first daughter, Rose Dorothy. The couple started dating in 2012 and got engaged last year after Johanssson became pregnant with Dauriac’s child.

A source told E! News that the couple were waiting for the baby’s arrival before they tied the knot.  Last month, rumors about the wedding surfaced after the star of The Avengers was spotted wearing a gold band on her finger at a charity gala. As early as October, Dauriac was also seen wearing a wedding ring on his finger.

Even though Johansson is from New York and Dauriac is from Paris, the couple decided to wed well outside their respective hometowns, choosing Montana as the setting for their vows. “They kept the wedding a big secret because they both wanted privacy,” a source told Page Six.

Little is known about the “very intimate ceremony” and the guests that were present during the event. Not one picture of the blonde bombshell in her wedding gown was leaked to the public. The Gossip Cop blog took a tour to Montana and confirmed the wedding by talking to The Granite County Clerk in Philipsburg.

It is Dauriac’s first marriage, but Johansson was previously married to actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008 until their high profile divorce in 2011. She briefly dated Sean Penn and ad executive Nate Taylor before meeting her future husband in 2012. The couple met frequently, shifting between New York and Paris to have fun and go on dates.

The Oscar-nominated actress will appear next on the highly anticipated sequel The Avengers: Age of Ultron which drops next summer.

  • Kirk Douglas Is Dead? Erroneous Obituary Published

Veteran actor Kirk Douglas is celebrating his 98th birthday next week, but it appears that People Magazine already reporting about his death in an obituary that the news outlet published online.

The obituary was dated September 29, 2014, but the posting date was not determined. The piece had a “DO NOT PUB” in the headline, signifying that the publishing of the obituary was a grave mistake. The piece read: “Kirk Douglas, one of the few genuine box-office names to emerge just as TV was overtaking American culture in the years right after World War II, died TK TK TK. He was 97 (DOB 12/9/1916) and had been in good health despite having suffered a debilitating 1996 stroke that rendered his speech difficult.”

“The announcement of my death is premature,” said the veteran actor in a recent interview with USA Today. “I’m looking forward to turning 98 next week.”

The veteran Spartacus star and father of Michael Douglas is releasing a book in celebration of his birthday. His eleventh book, Life Could Be Verse, features poems and stories that he has accumulated over the years.

After starring in his first picture back in 1946, Douglas became a bonafide Hollywood star thanks to his popular roles in films like Lust for Life and Champion. He is considered to be one of Hollywood’s finest actors and was nominated for the Academy Awards thrice. Despite the fact that he never won, Steven Spielberg presented Douglas with an Oscar lifetime award for his contributions in the industry.

News outlets typically write advance obituaries of known personalities that would be instantly published once these celebrities eventually reach the end of their lives. Back in 2008, Bloomberg made the same mistake when they published the obituary of Steve Jobs three years before his passing.

  • Fake Army Ranger Exposed; Video Goes Viral On YouTube

Fake Army Ranger Exposed; Video Goes Viral On YouTube

On Black Friday, Afghanistan veteran Ryan Berk spotted a man dressed in camouflage fatigues while shopping at a mall in Pennsylvania. While it is common for veterans to don their uniforms when they’re out and about, Berk noticed something different about the parading soldier. Aside from having the American flag patch in the wrong spot, Berk saw three Combat Infantryman Badges (CIBs) on the soldier’s outfit, a rare feat for most men in service.

Berk, a recipient of the Purple Heart for his service as a soldier of the 101st Airborne Division, noted how rare it is for soldiers of his age to receive three CIBs. Wanting to know more about the man, he started questioning the “soldier,” who identified himself as Sean Yetman.

Armed with his phone, Berk started questioning Yetman about his experiences. When Berk asked him where he got his three CIBs, Yetman replied that he got all three in Afghanistan. Soldiers are only given one CIB for every campaign that they go through, making it impossible for Yetman to achieve such a feat.

Berk then accused Yetman of being a phony and impersonating a soldier, prompting the soldier to walk away. In the video, Berk was heard shouting: “Here it is, stolen valor at its finest. Why don’t you just admit you’re a phony?”

The confrontation quickly became viral after being posted on YouTube. To date, it has received more than two million views. Now the government is getting involved as Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick sent a letter to U.S. Attorney Zane Memeger about the possibility of a federal crime as shown in the video.

According to The Stolen Valor Act of 2013, it is a crime for anyone to falsely claim to have received any decorations from the military especially if the intention is to obtain tangible benefit, money, or properties.

Recently, there has been a rise in the number of individuals who are using the uniform to receive recognition and military discount perks from stores and restaurants.

The crowd sang along as RnB singer Eric Benet kicked off the performance with his rendition of Kool & the Gang’s 1979 hit, Ladies Night. Lil’ Kim burst out of the stage to deliver her striking opening verse. Left Eye’s verse was left intact and was projected on the huge screen behind the female rappers. The crowd went wild as Da Brat hit the stage and was followed by Missy Elliott, wearing a sparkling jacket who delivered the fan-favorite verse.

At the end of the performance, Elliott gave massive props to her fellow female rappers Yo-Yo, MC Lyte, the Lady of Rage and RnB group Total  who all joined them to close the amazing performance. The musical number was a throwback to their performance at the 1997 MTV Video Music Awards.

  • Kandi Burruss Apologizes To Kenya Moore Over Sexting Scandal

On the latest episode of Bravo’s hit reality program, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kenya Moore broke down and got emotional over the sexting allegations between her and Apollo Nida, the husband of her co-star Phaedra Parks.

After Nida’s televised apology managed to sway fellow Housewife Kandi Burruss to Moore’s side, the two found themselves bonding over kickboxing practice and talking about the scandal. “I am going to do what I feel is right. It is wrong to have dissed this woman for two years, so I am going to apologize,” Burruss said to the cameras during her confessional moment.

The Kandi Factory star told Moore about what the other Housewives thought about her which then catapulted Moore to an emotional outburst. Moore rushed to the gym toilet, broke down, and shoved away the cameras. The microphones continued recording the encounter and Moore was heard saying, “I am not the f***ing liar, that man is a criminal, clearly there is something wrong with him. I have not done anything to them to deserve the things that they do to me.”

“They go too far, they are evil Kandi,” she added.

Before the emotional moment, Burruss had a spa day with Nene Leakes, Porsha Williams, and Phaedra Parks where they continued to dish out their hate for Moore. Leakes believe that Nida lied about lying just to make his soon-to-be ex-wife Williams angry.

Moore continues to struggle with the cold treatment that her fellow Housewives has given her. “I cannot win with these women. They want me to fail and to be painted as this crazy, horrible person. Why?”

For two years, the Housewives had maintained a safe distance away from Moore after Nida’s affair allegations. Nida has been slapped with an eight-year prison sentence after pleading guilty for bank fraud and identity theft last May and is due to enter jail soon.

  • Kanye West Surprises Crowd At A (RED) Charity Concert In New York

Kanye West headlined a surprise concert at the heart of New York to mark the World AIDS day. West performed along with other big-name stars like U2, Bruce Springsteen, and Carrie Underwood at the (RED) charity event that was streamed live all over YouTube.

Fans present at Times Square cheered as U2’s Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen, Jr. introduced “ one of the most groundbreaking artist in music today.” West shook the entire stage as he performed his hits from his latest album, Yeezus.

The famous rapper emerged on stage performing “Power” to thunderous cheers from the crowd. The producers of the show had a little trouble with West not holding back as some of the expletives in the songs “Jesus Walks” and “Black Skinhead” got through the censors. The audience was amped with West’s performance of “Stronger” and the musician dramatically collapsed on the stage as the fans’ screams echoed throughout the venue.

  • Maria Shriver Wants Son To Dump Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus and her hot new boyfriend, Patrick Schwarzenegger went out and about last November 23 at The Factory Room in West Hollywood to celebrate Cyrus’ 22nd birthday. The wild party had lots of drinking and a penis-shaped mechanical bull, which may have been the reason why Maria Shriver, Schwarzenegger’s mom, is concerned about his son’s newest flame.

After seeing the photos from that night’s debauchery, sources tell Hollywood Life that the relationship is “eating [Maria Shriver] up inside.”  “It is beyond true that Maria Shriver disapproves of the relationship that Patrick is starting with Miley.” the source added.

Cyrus has been working hard to fit in with the Hollywood political family, but her wild party photos may have been the final straw for Shriver and her family. Shriver is afraid that his son might be influenced by Cyrus’ wild ways. “She fully believes that you become who you surround yourself with and she’s always been so happy with the friends Patrick chooses, she never saw this coming,” the source claims.

Shriver is also getting the support from family members about this decision, but husband Arnold Schwarzenegger just wants his son to be happy with whatever he gets into. Miley is miles away from the squeaky clean image that the Schwarzenegger family has been maintaining since Arnold became the mayor of California in 2003.

Schwarzenegger has been harboring strong feelings towards Cyrus, his biggest celebrity crush. They first met in 2011 after Cyrus ended her relationship with actor Liam Hemsworth, but it wasn’t until this year that she and Schwarzenegger started going out. The Wrecking Ball singer first thought that Schwarzenegger was too young, but he has definitely grown a lot since their first encounter.

The couple was spotted last Halloween at the Roosevelt Hotel before hitting up Cyrus’ place to spend the night.

  • Kendra Wilkinson: Second Sex Tape Released, Filmed With Female Friend

As if her troubled marriage wasn’t enough to keep her in headlines, Kendra Wilkinson is facing another controversy: a sex tape she once filmed with a female friend is making the rounds of the Internet. The 29-year-old star of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here reportedly starred in a 45-minute lesbian sex tape made with a friend.

Originally leaked in 2010 on the Internet, the lesbian sex tape features Wilkinson getting intimate with her friend Taryn Ryan. The tape was reportedly filmed by the former Playboy playmate’s ex-boyfriend, Justin Frye, with whom she famously filmed another sex tape. Frye supposedly coordinated Wilkinson’s lesbian tryst along with Ryan’s boyfriend.

Jessica Hall, best friend of Wilkinson for nine years, said that the sex tape was typical of Wilkinson’s behavior when she was younger. “Kendra is a naughty girl, and when she filmed those tapes she was really living it up,” said Hall. “She let loose, she had fun and she lived a life that she thought was every girl’s fantasy. I don’t remember a lot of things from back then.”

The tape is said to be 45 minutes long, filmed in night vision, and features Wilkinson kissing Ryan. “Sex with girls was a thing for her years ago and I have heard her tape leaves nothing to the imagination,” said Hall. However, Hall said that Wilkinson would probably ride out the controversy of the lesbian sex tape without fuss.

“Everybody has a past, and she didn’t choose to put these things out there. But she won’t care what people say, she’ll deal with it and move on,” said Hall.

Recently, Wilkinson dished about her sex life with another ex-boyfriend, Playboy magnate Hugh Hefner. A source told HollywoodLife.com that Wilkinson dissed sex with Hefner because she felt he had abandoned her financially. “She still feels bitter that Hugh, in her eyes, left her high and dry after Girls Next Door. She thought Hugh was going to fund her lifestyle forever. He didn’t, and she thinks that shaming him about sex will hurt him,” said the source.
