    The Colombian beauty spoke to El Diablo about her life after the big win. Vega said that the experience has surpassed her expectations. She was spotted recently attending the New York Fashion Week and soon, she will be travelling to places like Dubai and Indonesia before flying off to her home country.

    Speaking about those who wanted Miss Jamaica Kaci Fennell to win, Vega said that not everyone can be pleased, citing how each participant from the 88 countries involved had their own group. Vega claimed that the auditorium where the pageant was held is “super small,” possibly adding to the loudness of the boos that erupted when Fennel was announced as the fourth runner up.

    “People believe that it was 95 percent of the auditorium, but it wasn’t like that,” Vega said. “I think no one thought Jamaica was going to be the first called in the top five, but I think that she is also happy being a top five finalist. It turned into something sad when the whole world should be proud and happy about what Jamaica did.”

    Fans speculated on Twitter that Fennell lost due to her spunky attitude and her short pixie haircut. Fennell’s fans think that Vega was unintelligent and just pretty, something that Miss Colombia is out to disprove.

    Expect spring to be a tad bit late as Punxsutawney Phil forecasted that winter is here for another six weeks. The world-famous groundhog went with his unorthodox methods to bring the forecast.

    Legend has it that if the groundhog sees his shadow after emerging from his burrow on February 2, people can expect the winter to extend its stay. Punxsutawney Phil quickly retreated to his burrow around 7:30 a.m. in Pennsylvania as the region is hit with scattered snow showers.

    A sizable crowd of about 11,000 gathered to watch the ceremony, hoping that Phil’s prediction will end the long winter that has ravaged the country. The top hat-wearing handlers of Phil however announced the extended winter.

    While it is still unknown if Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction will come true, the National Climatic Data Center has compiled Phil’s successes and failures since 1988. Throughout the years of his service as the gifted groundhog, Phil was recorded to be wrong 15 times out of the 26-year study. Dave Unger, a meteorologist from the National Weather service said that a good forecast will only be considered if the estimate is around 60% accurate. Right now, Phil’s predictions only amounts to about 40%.

    Groundhog Day has been celebrated since 1841, making it a true American tradition. While the tradition is still very much alive, Punxsutawney Phil has been constantly faced with controversies about his questionable predictions. An Ohio prosecutor infamously sought the death penalty for Phil back in 2013 after the furry psychic predicted an early spring, when it fact the cold weather persisted throughout the East Coast until March of that year.

    All around the country, several Groundhog Day-like celebrations are also held. Staten Island Chuck is making the prediction in New York, while Wiarton Willie if the snow will continue to fall in Ontario, Canada. Potomac Phil, a stuffed Groundhog from Washington, D.C. also saw his shadow, echoing Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction.

    Robin Williams’ widow and his children from two prior marriages have gone to court over disputes regarding his estate. According to reports, the papers were filed back in December. Robin Williams’ wife, Susan Schneider Williams, alleged that his children have taken items from their Tiburon home without her permission. According to Susan, since the Tiburon home was left to her, the items in the home should be excluded in the list of items that were left for the children.

    According to Robin Williams’ will, Susan is entitled to their Tiburon home while his children, Zak from his first marriage, and Zelda and Cody from his second, are entitled to any memorabilia acquired throughout the course of his career as well as other items that were stored in a second property in Napa.

    In January, Robin Williams’ children filed a response to Susan’s claims. According to them, Susan Schneider Williams “acted against his wishes by challenging the plans he so carefully made for his estate”. They also accused her of being greedy after she asked for additional money to cover for the daily upkeep of the Tiburon home as well as for unexpected renovations and improvements.

    Jim Wagstaffe, Susan Schneider Williams’ lawyer, said, “Mr. Williams wanted his wife to be able to stay in her home and not be disrupted in her life with her children. Compared to what the Williams children were set to receive from their father, this is a bucket of water in a lake.”

    Included in the list of disputed items are Robin Williams’ collection of comic books, posters, action figures, and other memorabilia.

    “These collections were carefully amassed by Mr. Williams over his lifetime and were precious to him,” the response from the Williams children said. “As the Williams children grew, so did their father’s collections and they shared in their father’s excitement as additions were made to his collection.”

    All over the world, fans are remembering the great actor who starred in films like Capote, The Hunger Games, Boogie Nights, and The Master. Caleb Slain, a fan of the actor spent almost 200 hours to produce an emotional tribute video that features some of Hoffman’s best work. From the actor’s bit part on Law and Order to his defining roles in Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead and Charlie Wilson’s War, Slain wanted to show the dedication of the late actor to his craft. “Please take a breather and raise your glasses to one of our finest,” Slain wrote to describe the video.

    Meanwhile, in an opinion piece on The Huffington Post, Johann Hari, author of the book Chasing the Scream: The First and Last Days of the War on Drugs used Hoffman’s death as an example to drive his point about the war on drugs. Hari argues that Hoffman could have been spared if drugs were decriminalized. He cited Portugal as an example; the country decriminalized all drugs and used the budget for busting users to provide help for recovering addicts. This act resulted in a decrease in drug activity and a huge dip in the number of deaths related to overdose.

    “Today, one hundred years into the drug war, we have a decision to make,” Hari wrote. “We can wait for the next death, and the next death, and the next after that — or we can decide to choose to let addicts live. It’s up to us.”

    Carrie Underwood announced her pregnancy late last year. In an interview with TODAY after her announcement, the singer expressed her disbelief. “It’s still kind of weird, to be honest,” Underwood said. “Sometimes I’ll be with my husband and I’m like, ‘I’m going to be a mom. You’re going to be a dad. Like, is this real life?’ But we’re really excited.”

    As announced on their latest Super Bowl ad, McDonald’s is launching a new campaign called “Pay with Lovin’”. Beginning on Monday, February 2, from 6 a.m. to 6p.m., McDonald’s will be offering random customers a chance to pay with an act “lovin’” instead of cash. Such acts include a fistbump, a phonecall to a loved one, a kiss, etc.

    Deborah Wahl, chief marketing manager for McDonald’s USA, said, “We’re on a journey of transformation and a key part of that journey is how we engage with our customers. Pay with Lovin’ is a direct way for us to engage with our customers. We believe that a little more Lovin’ can change a lot.”

    It works like this: after the chosen customer places an order, a guest service manager called a “Lovin’ Lead” will inform said customer that he can pay with an act of “lovin’” instead of cash.  “There’s a lot that goes on in the world and if a brand like ours can really come across and provide those good moments, provide that delight, that treat and that excitement, that’s what we should be doing for our customers,” Deborah Wahl said.

    McDonald’s hopes that word of the campaign will be spread through word of mouth. Chosen customers are urged to post their pictures on their social media pages including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

    According to McDonald’s, they will be selecting 100 customers a day in the span of 12 days. They estimate that each meal will cost around $5.60, with the total of free food averaging around $560 per restaurant.

    A man named Dennis Cochran was among the first to be chosen to “Pay with Lovin’”. Cochran ordered a burger, fries and unsweetened tea, and was surprised when he was asked to dance instead of paying for his meal with cash. “I had knee replacement 10 days ago, but it was worth it,” Cochran said.

  • Power Ranger Allegedly Murders Roommate With Sword, Bail Set At $1Million

    A former star of the kid-friendly Power Rangers series was arrested for murdering his roommate last Saturday.

    Ricardo Medina Jr. who starred in Power Rangers Wild Force was caught by the LAPD after calling 911. Medina Jr. had a violent altercation with his roommate, Joshua Sutter that afternoon. When the 36-year-old actor locked himself up in his room with his girlfriend, Sutter proceeded to break down the door to continue the fight.

    Medina Jr. grabbed a sword that he kept in his room and allegedly stabbed Sutter in the abdomen. Police arrived on the scene and arrested the actor who remained on the scene. Sutter was sent to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

    Neighbors said that the actor kept mostly to himself and noted that they didn’t know much because he had only been living there for the past two months. Talking to ABC7, Medina’s agent, Gar Lester, described him as a super person. “He’s been my friend and client for 12 years and he’s a great guy,” Lester said. “He’s great to his dog, he’s great to his people.”

    The local police charged Medina with homicide and is currently being held at the Palmdale Sheriff’s station with a $1 million bail. He is due to make an appearance in court this Tuesday.

    Medina debuted on Power Rangers Wild Force portraying Cole Evans, the Red Ranger of the group. The show ran for 40 episodes back in 2002 and is currently enjoying its run in syndication. Medina also appeared in Power Rangers Super Samurai back in 2011 portraying a different character.

    The Power Rangers franchise originated in Japan and became a huge part of popular culture. The franchise spawned a series of films, video games, and a lucrative merchandising deal. The 22nd season of the show, Power Rangers Dino Charge will begin airing on Nickelodeon this weekend.

    Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, is still in the hospital after being found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub at her home. The incident bears haunting similarities to how Whitney Houston died, leading to an outpouring of concern regarding Bobbi Kristina’s well-being. According to reports, Bobbi Kristina Brown is on a ventilator and is confined to an intensive care unit.

    A source for the family said that Bobbi Kristina was placed in a medically-induced coma. However, the source claims that Bobbi Kristina opened her eyes a few times on Monday. Doctors, on the other hand, told family members not to read too much into it. The source also added that Bobbi Kristina had some seizures on the same day.

    “Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family. As her father already stated, we are asking you to honor our request for privacy during this difficult time,” the Houston family said in a statement.

    TMZ reports that Bobbi Kristina’s condition is really serious and that her brain function has “significantly diminished”. This finding is the result of tests made on Brown in the hospital. Whitney Houston’s estranged husband, Bobby Brown, is reportedly at his daughter’s bedside the whole time.

    Much has been said regarding the similarities between what happened to Bobbi Kristina as well as Whitney Houston’s death. Both happened in February just before the Grammy’s, and both women had a history with drug abuse. And while cocaine was a contributing factor in Whitney Houston’s death, police released a statement saying that no drugs were found in Bobbi Kristina’s home.

    Bobbi Kristina aspired to become an actress and singer just like Whitney Houston, however, career opportunities did not present themselves. It is speculated that this might have affected Bobbi Kristina’s mental state as of late.

Perry kicked off her massive 12-minute set by making a grand entrance atop a gigantic animatronic lion.  The 30-year-old pop star sang her chart-topping hit, Roar, as she made her way through a hundred glowing orbs while wearing a fiery dress made by Jeremy Scott.

    When Perry shifted to Dark Horse, the stadium was fitted with 3D mapping technology, transforming the humongous stage into a massive chessboard complete with dancing pieces. Perry shocked everyone when she bought out Grammy Award-winning rocker Lenny Kravitz to do a rendition of her first hit, I Kissed a Girl. After that explosive bit, Perry shifted into a beach ball-inspired dress to sing Teenage Dream.

    The family-friendly performance got a splash of color from the bright set pieces that included dancing sharks and lip syncing palm trees.  A group of girls in vintage bikinis joined the chart-topping singer as she performed California Girls.

    The biggest surprise of the night happened when Missy Elliott came out to perform her 2001 hit, Get Ur Freak On. Perry joined the influential female rapper wearing a blinged-out football jersey. Perry hyped up the Super Bowl crowd while dancing to Elliott’s biggest hits like Work It and Lose Control.

    After Elliott left the stage, Perry revealed yet another costume change to match her emotional performance of Firework. Perry was lifted off the field and was flown across the stadium in a sparkling shooting star as real fireworks exploded above the sky of the open stadium. “Thank you and God bless America!” Perry cheered as her performance came to a close.

    To celebrate her monumental half-time show, Perry decided to get a special Super Bowl tattoo on her finger. “I thought it would be appropriate to draw blood tonight…XLIX,” she captioned the photo.

    It’s been reported that Val Kilmer has been neglecting treatment for a possible tumor because of his Christian Science beliefs. Concerned family members have talked to the media and revealed that the actor knew about the tumor since summer. Followers of Christian Science advocate prayer as the first (and sometimes the only) solution for any ailment. However, Val Kilmer was forced to go to the hospital last Monday after he started coughing up blood.

    Val Kilmer posted a message on his Facebook page addressing the situation and dismissing the rumors surrounding the tumor. “Thank you for all your sweet support,” Val Kilmer wrote on Saturday. “But I have not had a tumor, or a tumor operation, or any operation. I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the UCLA ICU.”

    “Friends have assisted who know my spiritual convictions and have been most sensitive and kind for the extra effort in making sure there’s minimum gossip and silly talk,” Val Kilmer added. “I am praying for a speedy return to the boards as they say. God bless you all and please don’t worry.”

    However, Val Kilmer’s publicist is singing a different tune. Liz Rosenberg, Kimer’s publicist, told the Associated Press that Kilmer was undergoing tests for a possible tumor. She said that the doctors are encouraged that Kilmer will make a full recovery from the tumor… the same tumor that Kilmer seems to be denying. Despite the conflicting updates from Kilmer and his publicist, the family revealed that after the recent scare, Kilmer has been more receptive to the idea of receiving traditional medicine to treat his illness. Rumors about Val Kilmer’s health began circulating after he made a series of public appearances looking like he lost a lot of weight.

    Marvel and Netflix have announced that Carrie-Anne Moss will be joining the cast of Marvel’s AKA Jessica Jones. The show is part of Netflix’s partnership with Marvel that aims to expand on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In order to set themselves apart from other Marvel TV Shows like Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. and Agent Carter, Netflix will be focusing on street-level heroes. Part of this initiative is Netflix’s upcoming Daredevil series which will also be released this year.

    A.K.A. Jessica Jones is based on Marvel’s Alias comic book. The story follows Jessica Jones, a former superhero, who starts working as a private detective. News about Carrie-Anne Moss’ character is still scarce, but according to reports, she will be playing a “no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica… if Jessica doesn’t completely alienate her first”.

    “Throughout her career, Carrie-Anne has embodied a wide range of characters in a compelling and relatable way and I have no doubt she will bring that talent to A.K.A. Jessica Jones,” said the show’s executive producer and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg.

    Marvel’s Head of Television and noted comic book writer, Jeph Loeb, added, “Carrie-Anne has proven her ability to play complex characters with deep and layered inner lives. Her interaction with Jessica Jones will be one of the many highlights of the series.”

    Carrie-Anne Moss will be joining Krysten Ritter who will be playing Jessica Jones. Other cast members include Mike Colter as Luke Cage, David Tennant as Zebediah Killgrave/Purple Man, and Rachel Taylor as Patricia Walker/Hellcat.

    Moss is no stranger to genre fare having starred as Trinity in the Matrix films alongside Keanu Reeves. Considering her film and TV work, she is definitely one of the more high-profile casting choices for A.K.A. Jessica Jones. Carrie-Anne Moss was recently seen on the big screen in Paul W.S. Anderson’s Pompeii as well as the indie drama Elephant Song.

Cameras were apparently rolling during the emotional confession and everything is geared up to become a part of Bruce’s upcoming docu-series that would depict his transition from a man to a woman.

    Bruce’s transition has been slow and steady. Last year, paparazzi photos showed him sporting nail polish. Before and after photos also showed Bruce with a smaller Adam’s apple and fuller lips. “Instead of completely shocking everyone, his changes have been subtle, and his family has had the chance to slowly get used to his new looks and life,” an insider said.

In the commercial, the Kangaroo was drafted by Australia eliciting cheers from Rice and Flutie.

    The Avocados from Mexico ad pokes fun at the sloth as it gets chosen by Brazil for its draft pick. “Off-the-field issues,” Rice says. While Flutie remarks, “Not a locker-room guy.” The United States selects wheat while the commercial ends with Mexico swooping in with a late-round steal after a trade to grab the avocado.

    According to reports, avocados have ascended through the ranks of America’s new favorite fruit. With it being a prime ingredient for Guacamole, it seems Avocados from Mexico found their perfect audience with the Super Bowl crowd.
