  • Ohio Turnpike Pileup Leaves 3 Dead, Trooper Pinned

A multiple-vehicle accident Wednesday on the Ohio Turnpike has left three dead and an Ohio Highway Patrol trooper seriously injured.

A heavy snowstorm that swept through northern Ohio Wednesday is blamed for the accident involving more than 80 cars and trucks.

The pileup started on the eastbound lane of the turnpike in Sandusky County, leading to a chain reaction of collisions within two crash zones.

The turnpike was closed for several hours when another set of collisions occurred on the westbound lane as well. Only the center lanes were opened Thursday morning and it will take days to clear the turnpike of the cars and trucks.

Hannah Matheny, 20, of Parma, Ohio, a passenger in a Ford Focus in the initial crash, and commercial vehicle driver Grzegorz A. Piwowarczyk, 42, of Palatine, Ill., were killed.

Janice Robb, 66, of Schererville, Ind., a passenger in a car in the second crash zone was also killed.

Highway Patrol Trooper Andrew B. Clouser, 29, was dispatched to the initial crash scheme at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday and was reportedly pinned between two vehicles as the chain reaction crashes continued.

Clouser is listed in “stable but serious condition” after being transferred to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. His injuries are reportedly not life-threatening.

Chris Mock, of Sandusky County Emergency Management Services, said 18 others were injured in the crashes and transported to ProMedica Memorial Hospital in Fremont.

The Toledo area was under Level 3 travel ban because of the heavy, blowing snow, but authorities in the area don’t generally attempt to enforce these bans on the turnpike or freeways.

  • Rachele Cateyes Angry Over Use of Bikini Shot

Blogger Rachele Cateyes is mad, and rightly so. As are thousands of her followers.

The Milwaulkie blogger posted a bikini photo taken by her husband on her blog about body acceptance, which was then used by an online diet company without her permission.

“I wanted to show that all bodies can wear a bikini on the beach and have a beach body,” she said.

Followers of her popular Nearsighted Owl blog let her know that her image was being used by diet company Venus Factor.

“They said, ‘Is this you? Why are you on this, is this you?’”

The diet company was using the photo as the “before” in its “before and after” shots.

A Portland News Station KGW8 joined in her fight trying to get the company to remove her image from their website.

They said they called the company several times, receiving recorded messages and emailed the company with no response.

Cateyes also sent a Facebook message to the company.

“These photos were stolen from me and are being used to sell your product, I would like your help in having them removed,” she said in her message.

The response she received read: “We have no control over it. You need to contact the people who specifically put this on his website.”

“You cannot steal someone else’s property. You cannot take their picture and make a profit off of it,” said technology expert Brian Westbrook. “Really, whether you profit or not, it’s illegal to download photos off the Internet and use them in any sort of way other than what the original composer of that picture intended.”

Cateyes said she’s proud of her body and proud of the photo, but using her image to promote a diet plan goes against her principles and why she posted the photo in the first place.

“Using me to represent basically, ‘This is what you don’t want to look like, don’t be like her, her body’s bad,’” she said.

  • Hearing Aid App Doing Wonders for the Impaired

It’s amazing the smartphone apps that are out there these days.

A new, free app called ReSound Smart — created by GN ReSound in Denmark — links to hearing aids to help the impaired add volume to their devices and use them as headphones for telephones, YouTube videos and music.

“People will always need really good hearing aids, but moving forward, what will differentiate competitors will be connectivity (to smartphones), and it will need apps,”said Lars Viksmoen, chief executive of GN ReSound.

The app also allows users to remotely configure settings like volume, treble and bass on their hearing aid devices and remembers particular settings for different venues.

“Let’s say you’re in a place you go to all the time, such as a coffee shop. You can make an adjustment and then it will geotag your location, so the next time you walk in, it will remember your settings,” said Laurel Christensen, GN ReSound’s chief audiology officer.

The app can convert the iPhone into a microphone, streaming conversations into the hearing aids, helping the impaired hear what is being said better.

“I think we’re going to see an explosion in this area because of baby boomers. They’re into technology and they want to be connected,” she said.

There are some risks to the app said Steve Aiken, associate professor of audiology at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada.

“One is that people could damage their hearing further if they adjust the settings incorrectly. And the other is that they miss out on the benefits if they’re not configured properly because it takes people’s brains a while to acclimatize to sounds they haven’t heard in a long time,” said Aiken.

According to the National Institute of Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, About 36 million American adults have some hearing loss.

  • I-80 Drug Stops: Thousands of Dollars Seized

I-80 Drug Stops: Thousands of Dollars Seized

Something fishy is going on in Nevada.

Deputies of a Nevada sheriff’s department are allegedly stopping suspected drug traffickers on U.S. Interstate 80 and taking money from them without filing criminal charges.

Two men who had money confiscated are fighting back, trying to get their money back. They recently filed federal lawsuits against Humboldt County in Nevada and now residents are starting to question the deputies’ practices.

Humboldt County Sheriff Ed Kilgore said he can’t discuss the case, but defends the practice, telling residents the stops are legal. He said civil forfeitures are legal if an officer suspects the individual obtained — or intends to use — the money illegally.

“What I’m hearing on the street is that we stop you and ask you for your license, registration and your insurance, and how much money do you have? That simply is not how it is ever done,” the sheriff told a group of residents who gathered in the Winnemucca Convention Center Tuesday.

The men who filed the lawsuits come from California and Colorado and their stories about their stops near Winnemucca late last year are very similar.

They say no drugs were found or arrests made, but both say they were told they’d be released if they gave up their cash.

According to the lawsuits, one forfeited a briefcase filled with $50,000 cash and the other over $13,800 and a handgun.

“It’s like Jesse James or Black Bart,” John Ohlson, a Reno lawyer representing one of the men, told The Associated Press last week.

Sgt. Chris Aker said officers are trained to recognize suspicious behavior that may indicate illegal activity.

“We don’t just say how much money have you got, we’re going to take it,” he said. “There’s been a lot of them where I think this is dirty and it doesn’t make sense — but I have to let them go,” he said.

Aker said the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has identified Salt Lake City as a drug hub for Mexican cartels shuttling money and drugs between there and California along I-80.

“We’re trying to combat crime in our own little way in the war on drugs,” he said. “We’re not just talking about people driving to buy medical marijuana. These are drug traffickers with guns who may be staying in our hotels.”

Robert Dolan, an ex-Humboldt County public defender thinks the laws should be changed.

“Currently, you don’t need a criminal prosecution to be part of a civil forfeiture,” said Dolan. “It’s a slippery slope of evidentiary standards … but it’s out there. It’s lawful. The deck is stacked against the citizens. And I’m not happy about it. But this system was not invented by Sheriff Kilgore.”

  • Chicago-Portland Flight: Disruptive Man Arrested

What is it about the Portland flights? People seem to be getting a little stir-crazy these days. Maybe cabin fever is getting to everyone and spring just needs to hurry up and arrive.

A man on a United Airlines flight Monday decided he wanted a Jack Daniels — well, four drinks to be exact. And when he was cut off, he flipped out a bit.

He cursed the flight attendants when they said enough was enough, refused to sit in his seat after he spilled water on it and provoked the other passengers on the plane.

This incident comes less than a week after authorities in Portland arrested another disruptive passenger on a Southwest Airlines flight.

After a federal complaint was filed by FBI agent Sean Hamblet, Jared McKay, 29, was arrested and appeared Tuesday in U.S. District Court on a single count of interference with a flight crew.

According to Hamblet’s affidavit, McKay was traveling from Pittsburg to Portland on Monday. On his leg from Chicago to Portland he became disruptive.

McKay asked for four Jack Daniels from a flight attendant immediately after takeoff. The flight attendant gave him two at that point and then a bit later in the flight, she gave him two more.

At some point during the flight, he allegedly grabbed a flight attendant’s hand, told her he loved her and promised to “show you” if she sat next to him.

    Ew!

Flight attendants noticed McKay becoming “increasingly aggressive” about halfway through the flight after he was cut off. The flight attendants decided to give him water instead, which he spilled on his seat, according to the affidavit.

It was at this point that McKay refused to sit down and continued to demand more Jack Daniels, the filing states.

    And it just gets worse.

Later in the flight the man went into the lavatory. When he returned to the galley, attendants said they could smell cigarette smoke from him and from the lavatory.

According to the affidavit, the captain of flight UA1108 told the FBI he nearly diverted the plane to Denver, but decided to continue on to Salt Lake City as an option for landing.

But it was not needed as McKay either passed out or fell asleep.

During questioning by the FBI, McKay apparently said that a “terrorist” had spilled water on him and that he stayed in the galley to dry himself off with napkins.

He was released after the hearing Tuesday on conditions and is to be arraigned March 27.

A week prior to this incident, a Southwest Airlines pilot made an emergency stop in Portland on a Seattle-to-Sacramento flight. A passenger of that flight demanded multiple glasses of wine, shouted, swore and displayed gang signs.

  • Europe Parmesan: EU Wants To Ban Use of Cheese Names

The European Union has declared war on United States in name of cheese — to be more precise, in the names of cheese.

During trade negotiations the EU said it wants to ban the use of European names like Parmesan, feta and Gruyere on cheeses made in the United States.

They argue that American-made cheeses are nothing resembling the original European cheese and since the American varieties are typically less expensive than the “original” European-made cheeses, it cuts into sales that benefit the EU.

The Europeans take offense that Americans put dried processed “cheese” in the green shakers so prevalent on dinner tables and label it “parmesan.” They say Parmesan should only come from Parma, Italy.

Similarily, the names of wine are named after the regions from which they originate. For example, Bordeaux comes from — well — Bordeaux, France. Champagne comes from — that’s right, Champagne, France.

The EU also contends that Feta should only be from Greece, even though feta isn’t a place. The EU argues it “is so closely connected to Greece as to be identified as an inherently Greek product.”

The U.S. dairy industry isn’t too happy with the EU’s declaration and says this would hurt the $4 billion domestic cheese industry and confuse consumers.

“It’s really stunning that the Europeans are trying to claw back products made popular in other countries,” said U.S. dairy farmers representative Jim Mulhern, president of the National Milk Producers Federation.

Errico Auricchio, president of Wisconsin-based BelGioioso Cheese Inc., said he has no idea what he would call his Parmesan if he had to find a new name.

“I Can’t Believe It’s Not Parmesan,” he jokes.

Needless to say the Parmesan jokes are hitting Twitter as news broke out that the EU wanted its cheese names back.

  • Megachurch Thieves: Joel Osteen’s Church Out $600K

You have to be pretty desperate to steal money from a church, but that’s exactly what happened at Joel Osteen‘s megachurch in Houston over the weekend.

Around $600,000 in checks and cash was stolen from a safe at the Lakewood location sometime between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Police spokesman, Kese Smith, said $200,000 in cash and $400,000 in checks were stolen from the safe.

A church employee and an off-duty sheriff’s deputy who provides security at the facility notified police of the robbery Sunday.

“We were heartbroken to learn today that funds were stolen from the church over the weekend,” Lakewood officials said in a letter to members. They told the church’s congregation that the stolen money was limited to funds received during church services on Saturday and Sunday.

“We are working with the police to fully investigate the incident,” the statement reads. “The funds were fully insured, and we are working with our insurance company to restore the stolen funds to the church.”

According to the statement, there was no electronic data breach and individuals who put their offerings in a drop box, gave online or made a bookstore purchase were not affected.

“If you made a contribution during these weekend services, we would encourage you to pay close attention to your accounts over the next several days and weeks and report any suspicious activity to your financial institution or credit card company immediately.” said the statement.

Church rep Donald Iloff, Jr. told the Houston Chronicle that “Lakewood Church is working in conjunction with the Houston Police Department to investigate this matter.”

“We do not want to compromise the investigation by commenting at this time,” he said.

Pastor Joel and his wife, Victoria Osteen, are well-known proponents of a modern version of the prosperity gospel — a theology that believes God blesses people with material success. Their message reaches a congregation of 40,000 in attendance each week and reaches millions more worldwide through television and online.

  • On Death Row For 30 Years, Now a Free Man

On Death Row For 30 Years, Now a Free Man

A Louisiana man on death row , who has maintained his innocence for over 30 years, has been released from prison.

Glenn Ford, 64, walked out of a maximum security prison in Angola, La. Tuesday, after a Louisiana District Court judge vacated his murder conviction and death sentence. The judge ordered his immediate release.

“My mind’s going all different kinds of directions, but it feels good,” Ford told WAFB News after walking out of the prison.

Ford was convicted of the 1983 murder of Shreveport jeweler Isadore Rozeman, who was shot dead in his store on Nov. 5, 1983. At the time of the murder, police found no weapon and there were no witnesses to the crime.

Ford was found guilty by an all-white jury and sentenced to die.

Ford’s attorneys argued Ford was wrongfully convicted over the years. They said he had an inexperienced court-appointed lawyer and information was wrongfully suppressed.

In 2013, prosecutors told the defense that “a confidential informant for the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office stated that Jake Robinson told him that he, not Mr. Ford, shot and killed Isadore Rozeman,” according to the Shreveport Times.

At his release, Ford said he regrets the years he’s lost to a wrongful conviction.

“I’ve been locked up almost 30 years for something I didn’t do,” Ford said. “I can’t go back and do anything I should have been doing when I was 35, 38, 40, stuff like that.”

Ford was released after new information gathered by the state corroborated his 30-year claim that he was not present or involved in the killing of Rozeman.

However, prosecutors would not release details about new evidence they possess, saying it could jeopardize their efforts in finding the real killer.

The Rozeman family was pleased with the news of Ford’s release.

“This is a positive reflection on the criminal justice system,” said Phillip Rozeman, nephew of the murder victim. “We don’t have animosity for anyone. If someone else was involved or others were involved in his death there also will be justice for those people.”

As per Louisiana law, Ford is entitled to receive compensation of $25,000 per year up to a maximum of $250,000, and another $80,000 for loss of “life opportunities.”

  • Katharine McPhee Back With Hubby After Scandal

Looks like Katharine McPhee might be forgiven for cheating on her husband last year.

Apparently, she has reunited with her husband, Nick Cokas, after months of separation.

The American-Idol runner-up was snapped Monday walking with her husband and their three dogs together in Los Angeles.

According to a source close to the 29-year-old singer and actress, this is more than just a nice little get-together.

“Katharine and Nick are working on their marriage,” says the source. “They’re trying to start again.”

The Smash star Katharine McPhee was busted last fall when she was photographed kissing the show’s director, Michael Morris. Both were married at the time, causing a scandal in the media and marring her reputation.

During the brouhaha, McPhee reveled that she and her 47-year-old husband had been separated and “living apart” for months before she was caught in the kissing photo.

Seems Morris has been forgiven as well. He has reportedly reconciled with wife Mary McCormack, known for her role in the USA Network show In Plain Sight. Apparently, she kicked him out of the home they share with their three kids, but allowed him back home a few months later.

  • Busy Philipps On Naming Daughter ‘Cricket’

Busy Philipps On Naming Daughter ‘Cricket’

Baby names just seem to get stranger and stranger by the minute, especially names given to celebrity kids.

Busy Philipps and her husband, Marc Silverstein, named their 8-month-old daughter Cricket Pearl. They already have a daughter who goes by Birdie Leigh.

The Cougar Town actress told Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb on TODAY Monday that Cricket and Birdie are her daughters’ real names. She said she and her husband thought long and hard on just the right name for their daughters.

She explained that it was just an easier way to avoid a nickname.

“Since I grew up with a nickname — Busy being short for Elizabeth — when my husband and I started to have our babies, we decided that if wanted to call our kids something, we would just name them that thing that we wanted to call them,” said Philipps.

“I like the names,” Philipps said. “I think they’re cute.”

Philipps told the TODAY hosts that felt compelled to defend the Cricket’s name on Twitter just days after her birth in July.

She returned to the set of Cougar Town just weeks later.

“I had to go back to shooting Cougar Town this season four weeks after giving birth to Cricket,” she said with an eye roll, “which was a little intense.”

“But I was also a big pregnant lady,” said the mother of the 8 lb. 5 oz. baby girl. “I gained a lot of weight when I was pregnant, and so then had to go right back into work, which was tricky.”

Philipps told Gifford and Kotb that she took Cricket to work every day, which she said was amazing.

“It’s a real blessing,” Gifford said.

“Yea, Not every woman can,” said Philipps. “I always say, if you’re going to be a working mom, being an actress on a TV show is not bad.”

  • Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Is No Miley Cyrus

Both Miley Cyrus and Duck Dynasty‘s Sadie Robertson come from the same Christian background. Both became famous at a young age. Both have strong, loving families.

But, they could not be more different today.

While Cyrus has delved into a more racy persona posing topless and using sexual innuendo in nearly everything she does, 16-year-old Robertson has remained steadfast in her faith and the values set for her by her family.

“I think people use fame as an excuse to lose their faith,” Roberston said in a recent interview with Fox News. “Faith is obviously my number one priority and I think you need to put God at the top of everything you do.”

Despite the temptations that come with fame and being in the spotlight, the daughter of Duck Dynasty‘s Willie Robertson has decided to use that spotlight to promote family values.

“When we began Duck Dynasty,” we weren’t starting it for fame,” she said. “We started it to get the message of God out there.”

    )

The young Robertson says the reality show is so very different from most of today’s television programming. Instead of violence, sex and self-serving programs, she says they provide wholesome, Christian values for families to watch together.

“We could have easily done a reality show like everyone else,” she said. “But it’s our faith that catches people’s eyes because sadly, it’s not something we’re used to seeing [on TV] these days.”

Robertson says the family sat down some ground rules before taking on the reality show.

“We had a family dinner before the show started and we talked about if at any time in this journey that God is not first, then we have to put the show away,” Robertson recalled.

“If we start to think of ourselves too highly, we remember that we were happy before the show and we will be happy after the show.”

  • Miranda Lambert Going ‘Platinum’ in June

Miranda Lambert Going ‘Platinum’ in June

Miranda Lambert has completed her new album, Platinum, the highly anticipated follow-up to her smash album Four The Record, which will be released June 3.

This is the first solo album in more than two years for the CMA-award-winning country singer. She released an album with her Pistol Annies trio in 2013, but this is her first solo album in several years.

The 30-year-old Lambert says this latest endeavor, her fourth album, took a little longer to complete than anticipated.

“From the day you kinda go I need to start looking for songs and writing songs, it feels like no matter how much time you have, you’re rushed,” Lambert said. “And so I didn’t want to rush it at all. To me it’s all about timing and making sure that you can feel like you can finally sit there and go, OK, the album’s done, and never have a moment where you go, I wish we could change that or I wish we had a different song.”

She has released her first single from the album, Automatic, and collaborated with Carrie Underwood on the song, Something Bad, bringing two of the most popular country singers together for the first time.

In a recent Good Morning America interview, Lambert commented on just how good her life is these days and how settled she’s become.

“There’s humor on this album, and nostalgia, and it’s feminine. There’s girl power, not in the ‘I’m gonna burn your house down and kill you, but more where I am as a 30-year-old woman and wife. I’m more settled in life, embracing the good and the bad, and that’s all reflected on Platinum.”

  • Juan Pablo Galavis Tweets Visit to Vegas

Juan Pablo Galavis Tweets Visit to Vegas

The Bachelor‘s Juan Pablo Galavis made a quick trip to Vegas just days before the show’s finale.

Saturday night, the 32-year-old former Venezuelan soccer player was in Las Vegas to take in the Jorge Linares vs. Nihito Arakawa boxing match at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

With two friends tagging along, Galavis, who some say is the worst bachelor in the show’s history, drove to Las Vegas, posting pics of the road trip on Twitter and Instagram throughout the day.

Ironically, or not, his first stop was to a wedding chapel, where he posed in front with a cheeky grin on his face.

Galavis later got in the ring with his fellow country man, Linares, as the boxer was introduced. Before hitting the ring, JP posed for this shot with Linares.

After the fight he went to Joe’s Stone Crab with friends for a meal. “It was him and a bunch of guys who were a part of the Venezuelan fighter’s team and a couple older ladies with big hair,” a source said of the two-hour meal.

Around 12:30 a.m., Galavis was seen at Beacher’s Madhouse. According to witnesses, he didn’t drink but he did pose for photos with the crowd.

Juan Pablo Galavis will make his decision between Clare Crawley and Nikki Ferrell on tonight’s finale. Rumor has it he proposes to not one.

“I could definitely imagine my future with Juan Pablo,” says 32-year-old hairstylist Crawley. “I’ve fallen in love with him.”

“Every little girl dreams of their wedding . . . Dreams of the day they know they found someone,” says pediatric nurse Ferrel, 26, says. “In a few days, he’s going to be down on one knee.”

Who do you think JP picks? Should both women run for the hills?

  • Boeing 787 Makes Emergency Landing

    Boeing 787 Makes Emergency Landing

No injuries were reported when a Boeing 787 Dreamliner caring 171 passengers made an emergency landing in Hawaii Monday after pilots shut down one of its engines.

Japan Airlines Flight JL002 was en route from Tokyo to San Francisco when an oil pressure warning on one of the engines appeared on their controls, forcing the pilots to shut down the engine and land at Honolulu International Airport.

“At the approach to Honolulu the oil pressure was getting low, so the engine was shutdown,” said a JAL spokesperson.

“When one engine of an aircraft with twin engines is stopped, the airline must declare an emergency so the flight can have priority to be guided by air traffic control and apply for landing.”

The airplane has had numerous difficulties in its early years of production.

“The 747 had quite a few issues when it first entered service, and hairline cracks were also found in the wings of Airbus A380s (along with other problems). But none of this was a threat to the safe operation of the aircraft, which were repaired during downtime,” said Tom Ballantine, chief correspondent at Orient Aviation magazine.

On March 8, Boeing made an announcement that hairline cracks had been found in the wings of 40 planes currently in production.

An “Operations Control Center” assists with problems as they occur on the Boeing 787.

“The center monitors every 787 in flight; it identifies problems and works with the airline to provide maintenance, sometimes even in flight,” said Henderson.

Ballantine believes media scrutiny has been an integral part of the Dreamliner’s problems.

“Because of the early dramatic grounding of the plane every little thing that happens now gets reported,” said Ballantine.

“But the Dreamliner hasn’t really become a total nightmare. New models do historically have a lot of teething problems,” he said. “These issues with the 787 are certainly frustrating for the airlines but you can be sure they are being well compensated. All the airlines I have spoken to think it’s a great plane with a fantastic future.”

  • Chipotle Guacamole Gone? Don’t Panic Yet

No need to panic yet, people.

Chipotle guacamole is not going anywhere anytime soon. A restaurant spokesman confirmed that the reports that Chipotle will no longer carry the side are “way overblown”.

The company said in its most recent FEC filing that costs of food items like avocados, beef, dairy and chicken went up in 2013 and could rise even more in 2014.

“Alternatively, in the event of cost increases with respect to one or more of our raw ingredients, we may choose to temporarily suspend serving menu items, such as guacamole or one or more of our salsas, rather than paying the increased cost for the ingredients,” the filing said.

Those words seemed to leap out from the pages, sending people into a panic after word got out.

The twitterverse went nuts following reports that Chipotle would not be serving the green stuff and it seems people started to take the threats of global warming way more seriously.

Chipotle spokesman Chris Arnold said the news “is way overblown” and the filing is just routine.

“As a public company … we are required to disclose any potential issues that could have potential impact on our business, and we do that very thoroughly,” he said.

  • Elsa Pataky Paints Life Saver on Belly Bump

Gotta love Elsa Pataky’s sense of humor.

Chris Hemsworth’s wife — who is expecting twins — is embracing her pregnant figure and could care less about recent criticism by Joan Rivers, E!’s Fashion Police, and fashion analyst George Kotsiopoulos.

The 37-year-old Spanish beauty was photographed at a Baywatch-inspired photo shoot Tuesday, March 4, wearing a red sports bra and tiny red shorts with a life-saving ring painted on her very pregnant belly.

Following the Oscar broadcast on Sunday, March 2, Joan Rivers and E!‘s Fashion Police went too far by not only criticizing Chris Hemsworth’s pregnant wife Elsa Pataky’s Oscars dress but also bashing the size of her belly.

“I know why she’s huge,” Rivers said on Fashion Police Monday, March 3. “I saw her sonogram.”

George Kotsiopoulos chimed in with his opinion of Pataky’s Ocar look.

“The last thing I wanna do is rip on a pregnant woman,” Kotsiopoulos said. “But it’s a horrible dress on her. It doesn’t look like a baby bump, it looks like a beer belly.”

Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic just had to join the bashing.

“It’s just not the appropriate dress to wear if you are pregnant. You have to go with an empire style, or just dress like Olivia Wilde,” Osbourne said Osbourne ”

Rancic managed to be a bit more generous in her put-down.

“Beautiful baby bump, but beautiful in a different dress,” Rancic added. “I have to say, pregnant or not, I just don’t like this dress.”

Hemsworth and Pataky began dating in early 2010, married that December, and are parents to 1-year-old India Rose.

“I think [parenthood] brings out the child in all of us,” Hemsworth recently told Parade magazine. “That’s what’s so beautiful. It reminds you of the fascination you had with things and how you can spend hours just being with someone. It’s amazing.”

Don’t you just love Pataky’s sense of humor?

Five years after a panic attack, Alexa Ray Joel has bounced back and is ready to follow in her famous dad’s footsteps by landing a gig at the Cafe Carlyle in New York City.

After a difficult end to a relationship, Billy Joel‘s daughter suffered a panic attack — an affliction that she often experienced when she was younger — that nearly cost her her life. On Dec. 5, 2009, Alexa took several homeopathic pills during a period 3 hours trying to calm herself down.

It was a point in her life she deems her “rock bottom.”

After intensive therapy, she turned to music to help her deal with her grief. That expression of her pain and grief led to healing and propelled her to follow in her famous dad’s footsteps.

This week, Alexa will take the Upper Manhattan’s East Side stage April 1-12. It’s a much smaller venue than the stadiums where her 6-time, grammy-award-winning father has played, but it is still a great place to show off her talent. Many other big-name artists — like cabaret singer Bobby Short — have played there.

This isn’t the first time Alexa has had a residency gig. In 2011, she played at the Oak Room in Manhattan’s Plaza Hotel.

Alexa says she has relied on her dad and mom, Christie Brinkley, and gives them the credit for her comeback from the depths of despair.

“Dad always builds me up; he helped me get perspective back,” Alexa said. “My mom and I have more heart-to-hearts now… I’m in a Zen good place.”

Alexa Ray Joel, who writes her own songs and plays the piano, once told Chorus & Verse, “I definitely believe that music is something that is in my blood, something that I was born to do.”

  • Lea Michele Says Cory Was Not His Addiction

Lea Michele continues to open up about the loss of her love — Cory Monteith — who lost a battle with addiction in July.

The 27-year-old Glee star shared more on her relationship with Monteith and stresses that her boyfriend was much more than his struggles.

“I only have happy memories of Cory. He was not his addiction – unfortunately, it won,” she said in the April 2014 cover story for Seventeen Magazine. “But that wasn’t who he was. Cory made me feel like a queen every day. From the minute he said, ‘I’m your boyfriend,’ I loved every day, and I thank him for being the best boyfriend and making me feel so beautiful.”

On a Good Morning America Wednesday, Michele told George Stephanopoulos she couldn’t have made it through her grief without the support of friends and family.

“I’m really very, very, very thankful for all the amazing people I have in my life,” Michele said. “I know that sounds like something everyone says, but honestly, my friends and my family, they got me through this and really, really have been there for me and I couldn’t have done it without them.”

The 27-year-old actress — who just released her first solo studio album Louder — took the opportunity to pour out her heart and her grief into the album.

“I set out to make a really pop-heavy album that was fun and empowering, but then I found myself picking and writing these songs that were very emotional and dramatic,” Michele said. “Louder has songs that express extreme love and some pain. I look at it and think, That was my year. I didn’t record any songs that I didn’t completely relate to.”

One of the songs on the album — If You Say So — tells the story of her final conversation with Monteith before his death that is just heartbreaking.

  • Stolen Plane DUI: Man Steals Plane, Flies it Drunk

    This guy is nuts.

Paul Michael Waddle was arrested Sunday for allegedly stealing a plane from Boulder City Municipal Airport and going on a wild drunken ride Sunday night.

He is charged with DUI/aircraft, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle/aircraft and obstructing a police officer.

    Yea, the guy is insane.

Waddle told police he was flying in order to “complete the takeoff and landing portion of his pilot’s license.”

According to an arrest report, police were called to the Boulder City airport before 11:30 p.m. Sunday after being called to the airport after Waddle took the white Cessna Caravan, owned by Scenic Airlines.

When police arrived at the airport, the plane landed and took off at least two times. The report said the place was being operated recklessly.

“In the 20-plus years I’ve been here, it’s the first time we’ve done a felony stop on an airplane,” said Boulder City Police Sgt. John Glenn.

The report said officers ordered Waddle out of the plane continually ignored the orders. Finally, Waddle had to be tackled to the ground after he pulled out an an object that turned out to be a radio.

“He kept reaching for his waistband. The officers decided to go hands-on with him. They were close enough to do that. They took him to the ground, placed him in handcuffs,” Glenn said.

Police said Waddle was clearly intoxicated and smelled of alcohol so they gave him a breath test. He blew a 0.132.

Waddle was taken to Boulder City Hospital after suffering several injuries in the altercation.

Following treatment, Waddle was taken to Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas for booking.

“I don’t know if he was in a flight school. He wasn’t associated with a flight school with us. We don’t have one here,” Glenn said.

    Nuts. Crazy. Muy loco.
