  • Emma Stone May Soon Make Her Broadway Debut in ‘Cabaret’, Replacing Michelle Williams

Emma Stone may soon be donning fishnets and a bowler hat for her Broadway debut in Cabaret.

The Super Bad actress was slated to star in the Broadway revival of Cabaret last year but had to pull out due to scheduling conflict.

Roundabout Theatre Company said Monday that Stone is once again in negotiations to play Sally Bowles, the flirtatious, intoxicating heiress turned showgirl who steals the heart of an American writer visiting Berlin’s seedy Kit Kat Klub, the setting of the musical.

The 25-year-old actress would replace Michelle Williams, who extended her run as Bowles alongside Alan Cumming through Nov. 9.

Set in 1931 Berlin, Cabaret centers around the world of the Kit Kat Klub in Nazi Germany. The songs by John Kander and Fred Ebb include Willkommen and Tomorrow Belongs to Me.

Williams took on the role when the Spider Man actress had to withdraw last year and received mixed reviews.

Ben Brantley of the New York Times wrote a less than stellar review of the actress’ portrayal of Bowles.

“The promiscuous, hard-partying Sally is now embodied by a very brave Michelle Williams, who doesn’t look all that happy to be there. I’m assuming that’s more a matter of character interpretation than of personal discomfort, but it does put sort of a damper on the festivities,” wrote Brantley.

“Given that she played Marilyn Monroe in the 2011 film My Week With Marilyn, for which she received an Oscar nomination, Ms. Williams obviously knows about wrestling with the ghosts of sexy performances past. But for some reason, she has chosen to tamp down any evidence of spontaneous sensuality.”

Liza Minelli won an Academy Award for her portrayal of Bowles in the 1972 film adaption of the musical.

  • Susan Sarandon Welcomes Her First Grandchild, A Girl Named Marlowe

Susan Sarandon is a grandma for the first time!

According to a rep for the actress, Eva Amurri, the daughter of Sarandon with Italian director Franco Amurri, and her husband, Kyle Martino, welcomed baby Marlow on Saturday.

“Actress Eva Amurri Martino gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Marlowe Mae Martino, weighing 6lbs 11oz, over the weekend,” the rep said in a statement. “Both she and her husband, NBC sports analyst, Kyle Martino, are thrilled and enjoying the new addition to their family.”

Sarandon and the proud parents all tweeted about the good news on Monday.

In February, the 29-year-old new mama announced on Twitter that she and her 33-year-old husband were expecting a baby together.

In March, Amurri announced the couple were expecting a baby girl on Whosay.

“Who run the world? GIRLS! #BabyGirlMartino,” she posted.

The proud new grandma has been looking forward to the arrival of her granddaughter for some time now. In March, she still had trouble wrapping her head around the idea that an actual baby was on its way.

“I think that even when I was having a baby myself and even after I had two babies myself, that you can’t even grasp the reality of it until that baby is there,” Sarandon told Us Weekly.

“So even though we’re very excited and the sonograms are beautiful and we’ve been shopping, it’s still — I don’t think you actually understand until there’s a human being there. So we’re still in that kind of state, but we’re very excited.”

  • Selena Gomez Becomes Emotional, Thanks Her Mom in TCA Speech

Selena Gomez became overwhelmed with emotion at the Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The 22-year-old actress, who was presented with the Ultimate Choice Award surfboard by Sarah Hyland and Tyler Posey, teared up during her acceptance speech.

“You guys!” she told the audiences inside the Shrine Theater. “Thank you so much!”

“I have to be honest, especially this month, I cannot thank you guys [enough],” said Gomez, referring to troubles in her personal life, especially her on-again, off-again romance with Justin Bieber. “You remind me amidst all the stuff that we deal with personally, you remind me of what’s important. That’s giving and loving and caring about each other.”

“I’m not trying to preach or any of that, it’s just that you guys make me better,” said the singer. “I really appreciate everything that you’ve done.”

“There’s one thing I want to say—I want to thank my mom so much because she’s the greatest human being in the world,” Gomez gushed of her mother, Mandy Teefey. “She’s strong and she’s given up her life for me and she’s so beautiful. I want all of you to love your mom and give her everything, because she’s incredible.”

This [award] is for you, this never belongs to me, this always goes to you,” she told the audience. “Thank you for letting me do what I love!”

Gomez posted a photo of her acceptance speech with the caption, “Why do I always make this face?! I can’t help but get all emotional and mess up my words but man, I am more in love with you guys than ever. Weather it’s tweet or a surfboard. THANK YOU for your embrace. No matter what.”

  • Tia Mowry Denies Charlize Theron Feud, ‘She’s My Woman Crush Wednesday’

Tia Mowry wants to set the record straight over recent reports that she is in a feud with Charlize Theron.

The Sister, Sister star and Theron reportedly had a bit of a run-in at a SoulCycle class in July. Mowry allegedly told In Touch magazine she tried to befriend the Oscar-winning actress without much success.

“She wasn’t very nice to me,” Mowry told In Touch Weekly. “I said ‘Hi,’ and she actually rolled her eyes and said, ‘Oh my God.’ I wasn’t over-the-top. I know how to approach another celebrity. Charlize was just mean. I’m just being honest.”

Following that initial story, more news surfaced that Theron apparently attempted to have Mowry banned from class.

However, according to a source for E! News, the rumors are all false.

“This is totally fabricated and completely not true,” said the source.

This confirms Mowry’s assertions to E! last week that the incident was “blown out of proportion.”

“I do not know her,” she said. “I do not know Charlize. I absolutely love her, she’s my “Woman Crush Wednesday,” you can even see it on my Instagram! I’m obsessed with her, I love her, but it was definitely blown out of proportion. So that’s all I’m going to say about that.”

Mowry currently stars as Stephanie Phillips on the Nickelodeon series Instant Mom. As for Theron, she has plenty of films in the works, including Dark Places alongside Christina Hendricks, Nicholas Hoult and Chloe Grace Moretz.

  • Katy Perry Bemoans Her Childhood Education, Campaigns For Teachers

Katy Perry wishes the education she received as a child would have better prepared her for life. Instead of letting it get her down, the Firework singer has decided to use her international pop star status to promote educational opportunities across America.

In a recent interview with Yahoo! about her “Make Roar Happen” campaign, which raises money for teachers through DonorsChoose.org, the Roar singer said she wished her “really half-Christian, half-education, I-don’t-know-what-they-were schools” had prepared her better.

“I’m kind of bummed at this stage that I didn’t have a great education because I could really use that these days,” she said.

“Make Roar Happen” is a $1 million campaign to raise funds to purchase school supplies for “thousands” of classrooms in cities where Perry’s Prismatic World Tour stops.

Perry said her travels on tour allow her to further her own education.

“I’ve learned to educate myself at this stage and how to continue my education at any age,” she said. “I’m going on 30, and I’m still very thirsty for information. On tour, we go to different museums and get to soak up all kinds of different cultural experiences.”

While Perry wasn’t exactly poor growing up, her family couldn’t always afford the little extras like singing lessons. The Prism singer gave a shoutout to one of her own teachers who made the extra effort to help the budding singer. It was the generosity of her teacher that inspired Perry to undertake the “Make Roar Happen” campaign.

“There was a teacher named Agatha Danoff who was my vocal teacher and music teacher at the Music Academy of the West,” she said. “It was very fancy and I didn’t come from any money … and she always used to give me a break on my lessons. I owe her a lot of credit and I appreciate that she looked out for me when I didn’t have enough money to pay. She believed in me, so this is how I could pay it forward from that one experience.”

The singer has another cause that is dear to her heart — Special Olympics. Perry said she recently performed at the White House for the 46th anniversary of the Special Olympics and was moved, honored and filled with a sense of purpose by the opportunity.

“It was an incredible honor and a learning experience,” she said. “I was very moved by one girl in particular who came up to me and was telling me that she wanted to be seen not for her obstacle, but she wanted to be seen as a mother that she is, a daughter that she is, a sister – all these other things that she is, not just because she has an obstacle in her life. It was very touching to me … I felt a sense of purpose and I don’t always feel that way.”

  • Portia de Rossi, Ellen DeGeneres Crush Divorce Rumors With Purchase of New Condo

Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres should be able put divorce rumors to rest with the recent purchase of a new condo together.

The couple bought “an entire floor of a luxury building in Beverly Hills,” a source confirmed to RadarOnline, squashing weeks of rumors that the couple are headed for divorce.

“It is very centrally located, right in the heart of everything that they do in Hollywood,” said the insider. “They still have the land and the space they love in Santa Barbara, but this spot offers the convenience that they need.”

According to reports, the building comes with a full-service concierge, 24-hour staff, a fitness center and pool. The unit they purchased apparently offers amazing views of the city.

“It’s a good sign that they are going to stay together,” said the source. “Ellen and Portia have always loved working on a home project together!”

In July, de Rossi and DeGeneres sold their Los Angeles home, known as the Brady House, to Napster co-founder Sean Parker for $55 million. The couple did well for themselves on this particular property flip, turning a nice little profit on the 13,511 sq. ft. home they bought in January for $40 million.

Designed by Los Angeles architect Richard Keating, the couple’s new condo, located at 1200 Club View Drive, features a different interior designer for each unit, including David Sutherland, Christian Liaigre, Ralph Lauren’s City Modern, Armani/Casa, and James Perse’s Malibu Collection.

  • Kellan Lutz Has the Intellectual Muscles to Match His Ripped Physique

Kellan Lutz, known for his ripped physique and action movies, has got way more going for him than just his enviable physical gifts. The actor is also ripped, if you will, intellectually.

The 29-year-old Twilight alum studied chemical engineering at Chapman University before pursuing acting, but doesn’t care if people really only see him as a dumb jock.

“I don’t mind — people can judge a book by its cover,” Lutz told the New York Post. “As long as you stay out of the paparazzi and the press and you’re more known for your work than your personal life, there’s still a bit of mystery there.”

Lutz continues to improve his intellect. He is often found on set reading science books. He’s also working on some patents on some mysterious projects he has in the works.

“It’s great to have my acting world and also work on some of my chemical compounds and mixtures,” he says. “I can’t really talk too much about it, but we’re almost there.”

His physical attributes have certainly helped him line up some dream acting roles of late. He is starring in The Expendables 3 alongside Sylvester Stallone, who is trying to convince Lutz to chill a bit on the workouts so he doesn’t look like a wimp next to the muscular, young actor.

“I was bigger because of Hercules and now that I was actually wearing clothes, Sly was like, ‘You don’t have to work out so much. Don’t worry about it!’ ” Lutz told The Post of his co-star’s joke.

Lutz joins the star-studded cast, including Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Dolph Lundgren, as a young Navy SEAL who is learning the ropes. This time, the mercenary group goes up against a dangerous arms dealer, played by Mel Gibson.

“A lot of the young guns, when we weren’t working, we just wanted to be on set to watch the ‘men’ work — the veterans, the legends,” he says.

The Expendables 3 hits theaters on Friday.

One Direction fans can get their screams on once again — the Irish-British boy band is slated to release a new concert film in October.

Arts Alliance, the film’s distributing company, announced on July 22 the One Direction: Where We Are — The Concert Film will be a 90-minute treat for fans that will feature interviews with band members and a live recording of a concert at San Siro stadium in Milan. The film will be shown on more than 3,000 screens around the world on Oct. 11 and 12.

  • Bill Gates and Family Doing it Up Right Vacationing on a $330 Million Yacht

Just because he can, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and his family are currently vacationing in Sardinia on a rented 450-foot, $330 million yacht.

The Serene is the third most expensive yacht in the world and will cost the computer entrepreneur a mere $5 million a week to cruise his way around the beautiful Italian waterways.

Gates, whose estimated worth is $76 billion, is expected to spend three weeks on the yacht with his wife, Melinda, and their three children, Rory, Jennifer and Phoebe.

The yacht, owned by Stolichnaya vodka magnate Yuri Scheffler, features 12 state rooms, a private nightclub, a climbing wall, a gym, a seawater swimming pool, a movie theater and two hot tubs. If that’s not enough, there’s also a full library, health spa, an underwater viewing room and — get this — a submarine hanger.

    A submarine hanger? Really?

For day trips to enjoy some shopping and sightseeing on land, there is a helicopter on standby to whisk guests ashore.

Anyone else feeling a little depressed right now?

This could be a real issue for some, but considering the generous philanthropist donates billions to help fight against disease and poverty, he might just get away with spending millions on a vacation. After all, it’s really just pocket change for him.

In April, Gates urged China’s wealthiest people to tackle the country’s poverty levels.

“China has many successful entrepreneurs and business people … I hope that more people of insight will put their talents to work to improve the lives of poor people in China and around the world, and seek solutions for them,” Gates wrote in the People’s Daily. “Investing for the poor requires participation from the entire community.”

  • Lindsay Lohan Allegedly On a Crusade to Star on UK’s Reality Show ‘TOWIE’

Lindsay Lohan is apparently on a crusade to finagle her way on to the popular UK reality show The Only Way is Essex — aka TOWIE.

While Lohan has not publicly declared her desire to star on the show, a source made it clear she is obsessed with the idea.

“Lindsay’s obsessed with all things Essex and she’s watched every episode of TOWIE on YouTube. It’s like her new fix. She’s been telling anyone who’ll listen that she’d love to guest star in a few episodes and has even asked her management to set up a meeting with the producers,” said the source.

Lohan has been (purposely?) hanging with the stars of the show, including a recent trip to Ibiza with Vas J. Morgan.

That doesn’t necessarily translate into a working gig. On the other hand, she may be on to something since producers insist the reality stars of the show have some connection to Essex, which she may have now that she’s a new BFF of Morgan.

“We always ensure that everyone on the show has a genuine connection to Essex. As a friend of Vas, Lindsay might fit the bill, but there are no plans as yet,” said another source to Now magazine.

The Only Way Is Essex follows a diverse group of people that have one thing in common — they live in Essex. The show features a club promoter, a would-be model, a member of a girl band and two bar workers. Each episode airs just days after filming.

The actress hasn’t had much success with reality TV on this side of the Atlantic. Lohan joined forces with Oprah Winfrey for Lindsay, which aired on OWN earlier this year. Few were really interested in the daily life of the troubled actress, and it was canceled soon after its premiere.

  • Nina Dobrev Talks ‘Busy Weekend’ of Alleged Hook-ups at Comic-Con

Nina Dobrev seems to be a hot ticket now that Ian Somerhalder is no longer in the picture, and there is constant speculation about who she might hook up with next.

The Vampire Diaries actress addressed the dating rumors and speculation Thursday at the Let’s Be Cops red carpet premiere at the ArcLight in Hollywood looking beautiful in a Zuhair Murad dress, Salvatore Ferragamo heels and Tiffany & Co. jewels.

Dobrev told E! News she can totally relate to her character, who falls for a phony cop, in the film.

“I went on a date once with a police officer, unbeknownst to me,” said the 25-year-old actress. “I thought he was a regular guy. And when I found out that he was a police officer…I wasn’t so into it. I got paranoid that I would illegally cross the street and get a ticket for jay walking. I thought he was gonna arrest me every five seconds, so it obviously didn’t go anywhere after that…Even when I’m not doing something wrong, when there’s a police officer [around], I suddenly feel guilty for nothing.”

As to all the rumors of a plethora of hook-ups with the likes of Orlando Bloom, Ben McKenzie, David Anders, and Derek Theler—and that was just over the San Diego Comic-Con weekend—Dobrev said she was surprised her friends bought into the speculation.

“If all of my personal friends that know me so well are texting me and asking me and calling me, if they’re believing it, then I couldn’t imagine what everyone else in the world is believing,” she marveled.

“I had a busy weekend at Comic-Con!” she joked. “I was linked to like 10, 15 guys apparently.

“Stay tuned for next year—I’m gonna have a kissing booth!” she said with a sly little wink.

  • Taylor Swift Braces for ‘Ew!’ Appearance on ‘Tonight Show’ — Literally

Taylor Swift got her dorky on for an appearance in the The Tonight Show skit Ew! with Jimmy Fallon.

The 24-year-old singer and actress donned some braces, reading glasses and channeled goofy teen Natalie in a promo for the show.

The Tonight Show released the promo Friday for Taylor’s upcoming appearance with Fallon on the show.

“Hey Sara, it’s Natalie. Remember me? Our moms were best friends in college,” Natalie says in the clip, addressing Fallon’s character. “I’m really excited because my mom said we are going to come visit you and your mom and your dad. I heard that you have that television show called Ew! Maybe I can be on it.”

Swift will appear on the NBC late night talk show on Wednesday, Aug. 13.

Ew! is gaining popularity on the late night scene and on YouTube, especially with guest stars donning ridiculous outfits and channeling their inner silly teen girl. Here are a few appearances by other celebrities who’ve made it down into the basement of Ew!’s host, Sara (Fallon) — “that’s S-A-R-A with no H, cause H is Ew!”

  • Megan Fox Defends Friend Shia LaBeouf, saying ‘He’s Perfectly Fine’

Megan Fox Defends Friend Shia LaBeouf, saying ‘He’s Perfectly Fine’

Megan Fox took a stand for her friend and Transformers costar, Shia LaBeouf.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star told the New York Daily News Sunday she doesn’t worry a bit about the beleaguered actor.

“I’m not worried about Shia. I love my Shia. He’s perfectly fine,” said Fox. “I haven’t talked to him in a couple of years, but I don’t worry about him.”

“He’s a brilliant kid, talented and funny,” the 28-year-old continued. “There’s no reason to worry.”

While Fox may not be worried, others have questioned LaBeouf’s antics of late.

In February, he arrived on the red carpet at the Berlin Film Festival’s Nymphomaniac premiere wearing a brown paper bag over his head with “I AM NOT FAMOUS ANYMORE” written across the front of the bag. That same month, he co-created an art piece in Los Angeles entitled “#IAMSORRY.”

In December, LaBeouf came under fire for plagiarizing illustrator Daniel Clowes’ work for his short film HowardCantour.com.

And in June, he was arrested in New York City in a bizarre appearance at a performance of Cabaret. LaBeouf was escorted from the performance and now faces charges of disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing. The case is pending until Sept. 10 while attorneys try to negotiate a plea deal.

  • Charles Manson: Is He Marrying a 25-Year-Old Groupie?

Convicted murderer Charles Manson has allegedly filed papers to marry a 25-year-old woman, who says she is already Manson’s wife.

Afton Burton, who now goes by the name of Star, discovered Charles Manson, 79, when she was 16 and says she was born to be with the convicted killer.

“He filed for the first round of paperwork,” Star told CNN. “I’m completely with him, and he’s completely with me. It’s what I was born for, you know. I don’t know what else to say.”

Star says she fell for Manson after reading the ATWA, an acronym describing Manson’s environmental philosophy of air, trees, water and animals. When she was 19, and after a three-year correspondence with Manson, she moved to Corcoran to be near the killer, who has been incarcerated in Corcoran State Prison for the past 25 years.

She says she speaks with Manson daily by phone and visits him on most weekends.

“We talk about anything and everything, you know, like what’s going on today– who’s doing what. I try to help him file papers and stuff like that,” said Star.

When Star visits Manson, they are only permitted a hug at the beginning and end of their visit. If they do marry, Manson will not be granted conjugal visits because it is forbidden for inmates who are serving a life sentence.

Star says she knows people can’t understand her relationship with Manson, but says it will not thwart her intentions to marry Manson.

“I don’t care what those kind of people think. It doesn’t make any difference,” she says. “The man that I know is not what they have in the movies or in documentaries and the books. He’s nothing like that. He doesn’t tell people what to do. He’s not manipulative at all.”

Cynics — including her father — believe Star is being manipulated by Manson, and that ATWA’s goal is to draw young people into Manson’s web. She is unbelievably loyal to Manson and even carved an X in her forehead two years ago per his request. Girls in the so-called Manson Family carved Xs in their foreheads during his 1971 trial.

Her ultimate goal is to see the release of Manson by helping maintain his social media sites.

“The only thing that he’s trying to manipulate people into doing is planting trees and cleaning up the Earth. He genuinely cares about that,” says Star. “He’s nice to everyone. I’ve never seen him try to be manipulative. I’ve never seen any of that.”

  • Rory McIlroy: A Chance Encounter With a Young Fan Creates a Lifetime Memory

Rory McIlroy may very well leave Kentucky with the Wanamaker Trophy on Sunday as the winner of the PGA Championship at Valhalla, but the Irish golf pro will leave behind a memory of a lifetime for one young girl after a chance encounter at a gas station.

Following Thursday’s opening round at the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, McIlroy needed to make a stop — to fill up his SUV with gas.

It was there that a professional golfer from Ireland and a young girl from Kentucky would meet, according to The Advocate-Messenger.

Maggie Campbell, 15, and her family had just spent the day at Valhalla following McIlroy on the back nine, watching him birdie five of the last seven holes.

“Maggie took an instant liking to him. She hinted that she would like his autograph, and I told her that would be nearly impossible during a competitive round,” said Maggie’s father, Timothy Campbell.

The Campbells left the course and headed home, chatting excitedly about the day. As chance would have it, the family needed to make a stop for gas.

“As we pulled into the gas station, my dad saw a man wearing gray pants and a gray shirt with infrared sleeves. ‘Hey, that guy is wearing the same thing Rory wore today,’ he said. He did a double take and, to my our surprise, recognized that it was Rory McIlroy,” Maggie said. “He pulled his phone out of his pocket just as we rolled in, apparently answering a phone call and returning to the driver’s seat, though he was about to pump his own gas.”

After a little encouragement from her parents, Maggie approached McIlroy‘s SUV and asked his caddie if she could have an autograph.

“I looked at McIlroy from the passenger side window, and he smiled and waved me on over. He opened his door and I introduced myself and told him my entire family was huge fans. He smiled and said thank you. I handed him my pen, but he waved it off, pulling his own Sharpie out of his console,”Maggie said. “About that time, my dad came over and Rory gladly took a picture with me.”

“She said, ‘Hi, I’m Maggie, how are you?’ Rory said, ‘Oh, I’m a little tired, but feel pretty good. I had a good day today (66), could have been better,’” her father recalled.

McIlroy shook both their hands and autographed her PGA ticket.

“As I got back into our car, I noticed a small crowd had gathered, watching the whole encounter. But the one thing that shined brighter than the sun today was the smile on our daughter’s face,” Timothy said.

After Timothy posted a photo of his daughter on Twitter, the family began to receive attention from local press and social media. It caught the eye of sports editor for The Advocate, Larry Vaught, and Timothy agreed to write a blog post for his blog, Vaught’s Views, about the encounter.

“The public reaction has been overwhelming with my Twitter and Instagram accounts buzzing non-stop. My friends are contacting me constantly with texts, retweets, emails and calls,” Maggie said. “My friends tell me they’ve seen the photo of Rory and me on TV newscasts.

“My parents and grandparents have received uncountable calls, texts and emails from their excited and well-wishing friends,” said Maggie. “Someone from Northern Ireland ‘#ProudToBeIrish’ sent my Dad direct messages with example after example of how Rory eats in diners with locals, works out at the local gym, and always shows respect. Less than a month ago, Rory visited a gym and asked an attendant if he could change the TV channel to watch a football (soccer) match. The attendant replied, ‘You just won the Open Championship, you can watch whatever you want.’”

Timothy will also cherish the memory.

“He could have easily ignored us and we would have understood — after all, he is trying to win a major championship. But he didn’t ignore us because he has character and recognizes the importance and his responsibility as an ambassador of the game. He took just a minute of his time to create an experience that we won’t forget,” Timothy said.

“The man is one of the best drivers in golf, drives his own car and was going to pump his own gas. And he’s even driving on the wrong side of the road compared to how he learned to drive in Northern Ireland. Success has not gone to his head, and I hope that it never does. If he keeps his feet on the ground, it’s hard to say how much of his potential that he will achieve.”

McIlroy heads into Sunday’s final round in the lead with a -13.

  • David Duchovny and Téa Leoni Are Officially Divorced

David Duchovny and Tea Leoni are officially divorced.

The couple quietly finalized their divorce in June and reports are only now emerging about the end of the couple’s marriage. According to TMZ, who broke the story, the divorce was filed in June and the two settled all the terms themselves.

It was Duchovny, 54, who filed for the divorce, citing an irretrievable breakdown of the relationship.

The couple will share legal custody of their 12-year-old son, Kyd Miller, and 15-year-old daughter, Madelaine West, although they will reside with the 48-year-old actress. The Califonication star owns a nearby apartment in the Upper West Side of New York City, so he will remain close to the kids.

Duchovny will reportedly pay $40K per month in spousal support and $8,333 per month in child support, as well as other expenses including summer camp, private school and college.

The couple met at The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and married in 1997. They separated in 2008 when Duchovny was treated for sex addiction, and after a reconciliation following his rehab stint, they separated once again in 2011.

Duchovny will continue to keep busy with work. With the end of Californication on HBO, the The X-Files alum will return to broadcast television this fall with the NBC series Aquarius.

“After being involved in the production of both The X-Files and Californication, it gives me great pleasure to work with David Duchovny for the third time on this compelling drama,” said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, of Duchovny’s casting in the new series that centers around Charles Manson.

As for Leoni, she will return to television starring as Secretary of State Elizabeth Faulkner McCord in the CBS political drama Madam Secretary.

The Firefly alum will reprise her role as Erika Flynn in the season’s third episode. Fans first got to know the character in season three after she murdered her husband, John Flynn. She was convicted of murder and sent to prison, but not before she tried to cover up the crime. The character reappeared in season four and helped Patrick Jane, played by Simon Baker, solve a crime from her prison cell. Jane fell for the sexy prisoner and let his guard down, which enabled Flynn to escape.

Flynn and Jane will reunite once again in the third episode this year. The reunion will take place in Beirut, where Jane and Teresa Lisbon, played by Robin Tunney, are working to stop an international weapons dealer. Flynn agrees to help the duo in exchange for a full pardon and the opportunity to return home to the U.S.

Baccarin is a frequent guest star on many series. Along with her role as Inara Serra on Firefly, she has also appeared as Jessica Kivala on Heartland, as Isobel Swift on The Good Wife, as Anna on V, and as Jessica Brody on Homeland.

She will also be lending her voice to the new animated horror thriller Malevolent, alongside Ray Wise and Bill Moseley.

Season seven of The Mentalist will air this fall on CBS.

  • Julia Roberts Once Compared Her Looks to Halle Berry: ‘I’m The Prettiest One’

Julia Roberts and Halle Berry — which one is the prettiest?

OK, so Julia Roberts is Pretty Woman, but can she compare with Catwoman?

Roberts told InStyle magazine she once asked herself the same question as she reflected on the evolving nature of her looks for the cover article of the magazine.

“When I was younger, I’d think, ‘Oh, I’m the prettiest one. It’s not Halle Berry. It’s not!’ But it is, you know?” she said. “I think I’ve always sort of been on the more boyish spectrum of girls. For example, I’ve never been chosen as ‘one of the top-five hottest actresses in a bikini.’ And honestly, it’s a godsend.”

The 46-year-old beauty conceded that with a few more years under her belt, she tends to spend a little more time on perfecting her look.

“I certainly think about it more now. It used to be a friend could call me at three in the afternoon and say, ‘I have a premiere tonight. Will you come?’ And I’d just take a shower and go. I wore a lot of vintage then. I had a navy military jacket and striped leggings I wore all the time. Those were the fun old days. People were less judgmental, less searing in their assessment of what you dare wear to the drugstore,” she lamented.

At the same time, the Oscar-winning actress says she enjoys getting all dolled up for the red carpet now more than ever.

“The fun now is getting together with my friend and stylist Elizabeth Stewart, whom I adore,” said Roberts. “She brings such great ideas and choices to the table. When I know I’m seeing Elizabeth, I put on the most impeccable outfit. She’ll go, ‘This is great!’ And I’ll say, ‘I dressed just for you’,” The 46-year-old gushes, adding that she likes to get her family involved too. “Often I’ll let the kids look at my outfit choices and say, ‘What do you like better—this or this?’ I just try to not take it so seriously. And it can be stressful on the red carpet. So it doesn’t matter how much you dress up or bejewel yourself, you’ve still got to feel like you.”

  • Antonio Banderas Who? Melanie Griffith Says ‘Life Is Good’

Antonio Banderas seems to be just a page from the past for Melanie Griffith, who is not wasting too much time mourning the divorce from her husband of 18 years.

Instead, the Working Girl actress is focused on “finding great work and having a good time.”

“My kids are almost grown. I’m getting divorced. I’m just happy,” she told IndieWire. “I’m really joyful. Life is good.”

Griffith, 56, has got some great gigs lined up in the future. In January, she’ll open on Broadway in the reboot of Pippen. She has a comedy in the works with Bob Saget, and she is promoting Thirst, a short film in which she plays an alcoholic prostitute.

The not-so-heartbroken actress says playing a worn-out alcoholic in Thirst was a cathartic experience — one that has helped her turn the page on the past.

“When I read the story for Thirst, I loved it, because I’m an alcoholic. I don’t drink anymore, but I did. So that really attracted me to it because I wanted to play that kind of part,” said Griffith.

“I had a reputation with people in my industry as being a wild child, being a drug addict and an alcoholic,” she continued. “After being sober for five years, this part comes along and felt like if I could act it out and do it — not for anyone else, just for me — to do that harsh of a life of an alcoholic, I would be able to get it out. I found it difficult to watch myself the first time, because I went, ‘Oh my God, I look so old!’ Stupid s**t like that. Then the next time I watched it, I cried, because I could separate myself from myself and look at the story.”

One thing she won’t be looking forward to is watching her daughter, Dakota Johnson, in 50 Shades of Grey. Dakota told Griffith and her dad, Don Johnson, she didn’t feel comfortable having her parents see her in the risqué film.

“I have not seen 50 Shades of Grey,” said Griffith. “I don’t think I’m going to see it…[Dakota] was like, “You guys cannot come. There’s no way.” So we’re not going. I did go visit for a couple of days when they were shooting just normal stuff. I did see the Room of Pain – I did go in there and check it out.”

  • Ryan Seacrest Remembers ‘American Idol’ Finalist Michael Johns

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest took some time away from the show’s auditions for Season 14 in Nashville Monday to share his thoughts on the untimely death of contestant Michael Johns.

“Obviously it’s tragic and shocking news,” Seacrest told Extra. “I couldn’t believe it when I heard it. I think back to when he was on the show and I remember just what a great guy he was, what a kind guy he was, obviously very talented, and somebody that when I think back throughout all the many seasons and all the contestants he stands out to me. I will always remember that about him.”

The singer and songwriter died at the age of 35 Friday, reportedly from a blood clot that stemmed from a twisted ankle.

Confirmation of the news was issued on Johns’ Twitter account:

“It is with a heavy heart and inconsolable sadness that we confirm the passing of our friend Michael Johns. No other details will b avail at this time. Please respect the privacy of Mike’s family and friends as we know u will. Members and admin of @mjohnsonline pass on their prayers.”

Johns was born in Perth, Australia, in 1978 and moved to the United States in 1997. After his early rock bands Film and The Rising failed, Johns tried out for American Idol in July 2007. He made it into the Top 10 the following year.

The good-looking Australian soon garnered a strong posse of fans with his soulful covers of Dolly Parton, Fleetwood Mac and the Beatles.

It came as a shock to his ardent fan-base when he was eliminated in eighth place during Season Seven, and the subsequent outcry led the show to instigate the “Judges’ Save” a season later.

  • George Clooney and Fiancée Amal Alamuddin Get Marriage License, List Italy as Wedding Location

It’s getting real for George Clooney and his fiancée, Amal Alamuddin.

The couple posted their marriage license outside Chelsea Old Town Hall in London, per the legal requirement for U.K. citizens. Alamuddin is a renowned lawyer in the city where the couple received their license to tie the knot.

The notice, which must remain on the town hall for 21 days, lists the actor’s full name, George Timothy Clooney, and lists his profession as “actor and director”. Alamuddin is listed as “barrister”, and the wedding location is listed as Italy.

The marriage license is valid for one year.

Clooney, 53, and his love have been spending a lot of time recently in the Italian resort of Lake Como, where the Oscar-winning actor has a villa. In July, the couple were spotted having dinner with his parents in the area.

The future bride and groom’s mothers were also pictured shopping together during their Italian vacation.

Clooney proposed to Alamuddin, 36, in April and has been a stand-up fiancé in the months to follow, supporting not only his future wife but her family as well.

In July, George Clooney slammed a Daily Mail story about Alamuddin’s mother in an op-ed piece. Following his slap-down, the article was removed from the British tabloid’s website, with an apology.

The article claimed Alamuddin’s mother objected to the impending marriage because of cultural differences. Clooney was livid at the report, calling it completely false and “dangerous.”

“The irresponsibility, in this day and age, to exploit religious differences where none exist, is at the very least negligent and more appropriately dangerous,” said Clooney.

The couple have not yet announced a date for their wedding.
