  • Britney Spears’ Post-Cheating Scandal Routine: A Little Work, A Little Play

Britney Spears apparently is not pining away following her recent breakup with David Lucado, which came after an alleged video of Lucado cheating on the singer made its rounds in Hollwood.

Instead, the pop princess is back in the studio working on a new album, continuing with her hit Las Vegas show, and spending some fun girl-time with her BFF’s in Las Vegas.

Spears announced her studio work via her Instagram and Twitter accounts on Thursday, with a photo of herself in full recording mode.

As Billboard notes, Britney always seems to produce her best work post-breakup, so although no one wants her to be bummed after Lucado reportedly cheated on her, these new studio tracks may be just what fans are waiting for.

The pop princess made the announcement that she was back in the studio via her Instagram and Twitter accounts on Thursday.

And in a healthy response to what must be a difficult time for the once-troubled singer, Spears grabbed a bunch of her girlfriends for a fun-filled weekend in Las Vegas.

The 32-year-old singer announced the breakup from Lucado in a tweet on Aug. 28.

She also confirmed that Lucado cheated on her, telling a Las Vegas audience, “So I know you know my boyfriend cheated on me. But the best thing about being cheated on is I get to go on more first dates. OMG, OMG, I need a hot guy. Where are the hot guys here tonight?”

A source told E! News that Spears seems to be doing just fine, thank you very much, and shows no signs of sadness.

“She was full of energy and put on a great show,” said the source following a recent Vegas performance.

  • Ariana Grande Pays Tribute to Late ‘Gramps’ at ‘Stand Up to Cancer’ Telethon

Ariana Grande paid tribute to her late grandfather Friday at this year’s Stand Up to Cancer telethon.

The 21-year-old songstress gave a moving performance of her song, My Everything, for her beloved grandfather, who died in July following a lengthy battle with cancer.

“Supporting a cause that is near & dear to my heart. tonight I’m singing for grandps! i miss u,” Grande tweeted before taking the stage Friday at the Los Angeles event.

The telethon, which was broadcast to dozens of broadcast and cable networks, also featured performances by The Dave Matthews Band, The Who, Jennifer Hudson, Lupe Fiasco, and Common.

It was obviously a difficult performance to get through for the worldwide singing sensation.

This was the fourth Stand Up to Cancer telethon, which raises money to support research for new cancer treatments. Gwyneth Paltrow and Joel Gallen returned to produce this year’s telethon for a second time.

Others on hand for the telethon included Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Jane Lynch, Jesse Tyler, and many more.

  • David Cassidy on DWI Guilty Plea: ‘Is This an Election Year?’

David Cassidy, star of the 1970s TV show The Partridge Family, appeared in a Schodack, New York courtroom Wednesday to plead guilty to his felony drunk driving case after copping a plea, which reduced the charge to a misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated.

The former teen heartthrob, who lives in Florida, was not too thrilled when the judge decided to put off sentencing until Nov. 5.

“Your honor, I came here today hoping to get this taken care of and over with,” Cassidy told the judge.

Justice Bruce J. Wagner said the law requires Cassidy undergo an alcohol screening prior to sentencing and told Assistant District Attorney Michael Shanley his office should have asked for a presentencing report.

Cassidy’s attorney, Lucas Mihuta, tried to have the sentencing carried out in the one court appearance, but the judge insisted the screening be carried out before he pass down the sentence.

Cassidy’s deal calls for 50 hours of community service, and the installation of an alcohol locking device on any vehicle used by Cassidy for a year.

The 64-year-old singer has already completed an alcohol treatment program, but in November the judge will decide if he needs more, according to TMZ.

“I’m not pleased how this turned out tonight, but at least I’m not going to prison,” Cassidy said following the court appearance. “Is this an election year? I don’t mean any disrespect. I love this part of New York and have been coming here for years to the track. I admit I was driving drunk, but this was my first offense in New York state; I didn’t hurt anyone or crash my car.”

Cassidy was arrested last year after he was stopped by cops in Schodack, New York, with a blood alcohol level at 0.10, over the legal limit of .08.

This is Cassidy’s third DUI conviction. In March, Cassidy pled no contest to a DUI charge in Los Angeles. He also has a prior DUI conviction in Florida.

  • McKayla Maroney: Stolen Nude Photos Were Taken When She Was a Minor

Hacked nude photos of Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney were taken when she was a minor, according to TMZ.

Several porn sites reposted the photos of the now 18-year-old gymnast after her photos were initially posted on chan4 by the anonymous hackers.

TMZ reports that an attorney representing Maroney sent a letter to Porn.com demanding the site remove the photos immediately because several of them were taken when she was underage.

A different attorney reportedly sent a separate letter to multiple websites stating Maroney owns the copyright on the stolen photos.

Maroney has claimed the photos are fake in Twitter posts, but the legal action by her attorneys may indicate that at least parts of the photos are authentic.

A rep for Porn.com reportedly told TMZ that they removed the pics upon receipt of the letter from Maroney’s attorney.

Several other A-list celebrities have taken legal action following the massive breach, including Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton.

Meanwhile, Apple denied that the photos were hacked through a breach in Apple’s systems, including iCloud or Find my iPhone.

“When we learned of the theft, we were outraged and immediately mobilized Apple’s engineers to discover the source,” the company said in a statement.

“We have discovered that certain celebrity accounts were compromised by a very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions, a practice that has become all too common on the Internet.

“None of the cases we have investigated has resulted from any breach in any of Apple’s systems,” the statement said.

  • Princess Diana’s 1981 Wedding Dress and Other Effects Will Be Handed Over to Her Sons on Harry’s 30th Birthday

It’s hard to believe for some of us, but it has been 33 years since Princess Diana married Prince Charles in the 1981 wedding celebrated around the world.

The beautiful dress worn by the princess will soon be returned to her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

According to The Telegraph, Diana’s will stipulated that her brother, Earl Spencer, serve as custodian of the David and Elizabeth Emanuel-designed dress until Harry‘s 30th birthday. Harry will celebrate that milestone birthday on Sept. 15.

The dress — made of multiple layers of silk, accented with thousands of pearls and featuring a 25-foot train — has been traveling the world as part of an exhibition called Diana: A Celebration in the years following her tragic 1997 death.

The dress is just one of the many objects heading back to Diana’s sons. Other items include 28 other dresses that belonged to Diana, two diamond tiaras, “other priceless family jewels,” and family paintings.

Perhaps the “boys” are thrilled with the return of Diana‘s dresses and tiaras, but they will likely be even more excited for the return of photos, letters, and home movies that will be returned along with the other objects.

Harry will be receiving another gift for his 30th birthday — his inheritance worth $16.5 million. And like his brother did two years ago when he turned 30, Harry’s inheritance will be placed in a trust.

Sounds like it’s going to be an exceptional birthday celebration for both princes.

  • ICloud Hack Photos: FBI Joins the Investigation Into Nude Photos Posted of Celebrities

The FBI has joined the investigation into personal photos of A-list celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton that were reportedly hacked from the iCloud last week and posted online.

ABC news is reporting that the FBI said it is “aware” of the hacking and is “addressing the matter.”

The nude photos were posted on an image sharing site called 4chan and have since been reposted on numbers other social media sites, including Twitter, which has removed photos as they appear.

The anonymous hackers claim they have personal photos of more than 100 celebrities.

Lawrence’s camp is threatening legal action to any and all sites that post the photos of the Hunger Games actress.

“This is a flagrant violation of privacy,” a spokesperson for Lawrence said. “The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”

Lawrence Shire, Upton’s attorney, has issued a similar statement.

“This is obviously an outrageous violation of our client, Kate Upton‘s, privacy,” he said. “We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible.”

The FBI issued a statement about its investigation into the breach.

“The FBI is aware of the allegations concerning computer intrusions and the unlawful release of material involving high profile individuals, and is addressing the matter. Any further comment would be inappropriate at this time.”

Although hackers claimed to have retrieved the photos from storage on the iCloud, those accusations have not been confirmed.

Apple released a statement saying it is looking into the allegations and seeking to reassure its users that systems will not be compromised in the future.

“We take user privacy very seriously and are actively investigating this report,” the statement said.

  • Joan Rivers Being Brought Out of Medically Induced Coma Amid Fears That Brain Function May Be ‘Compromised’

Doctors treating Joan Rivers have begun the process of bringing the legendary comedienne out of a medically-induced coma.

According to the New York Daily News, the process was initiated by doctors on Saturday and will not be complete until sometime today.

Doctors are reportedly concerned that complications arising from the routine throat procedure may have permanently affected Rivers’ brain functions, including those controlling motor skills.

“The waking up process has begun and will take until Tuesday,” a source close to the family told the New York Daily News. “There is a real concern that the part of the brain that controls motor skills may have been compromised, leaving her as either a vegetable or in a wheelchair.”

Another source close to the family told the New York Daily News that the family is considering a lawsuit against Yorkville Endoscopy, where Rivers had a routine throat surgery last Thursday.

“Shock and upset is turning to anger, and they are looking for someone to blame,” said the source. “The night before she was performing and now she is on life support. An 81 year-old should not have that procedure as an out-patient. Very ill-advised.”

In the meantime, doctors and family members, including Rivers’ daughter, Melissa Rivers, wait to see the the outcome as the 81-year-old comedienne is brought completely out of the medically-induced coma.

Melissa Rivers said the family remains hopeful on Sunday.

“Thank you for your continued love and support,” said the younger Rivers in the statement. “We are keeping our fingers crossed.”

The E! Fashion Police co-host was placed in the coma last week to allow her brain the time to heal following respiratory and cardiac arrest on Thursday. During a cardiac arrest, the heart stops beating, depriving the brain of oxygen. By inducing a coma, the brain is given rest as many of the normal functions of the brain are shut down so it has less work to do.

Rivers has remained unconscious since she was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital and said to be “resting comfortably.”

  • Explosion in Paris Claims More Lives, Including Those of Three Children

Three children are among the dead following an explosion in an apartment building outside Paris, bringing the death toll to eight on Monday.

Eleven people were injured in the explosion that occurred Sunday in a four-story apartment building in the Paris suburb of Rosny-sous-Bois, including four with serious injuries.

The dead include a 40-year-old mother and her 14 and 18 year-old children, a 10-year-old child, a woman in her 80s who lived on the first floor, a 45-year-old woman, a man described as a man in his fifties and another adult.

Rescue workers continued to search for survivors Monday using dogs and machinery.

Firefighters and local officials believe a gas leak from a faulty boiler was the source of the explosion.

“This boiler was located in a ground floor flat,” said Samuel Bernes, a spokesman for the Paris firefighters department. He said the boiler was taken by police for testing.

Neighbors said the blast, which happened at around 7 a.m. local time Sunday, was very powerful.

“Our house moved, we were trembling from fear,” said a neighbor. The sound of the explosion was so loud “our ears were ringing.”

Ghislaine Poletto, 55, who lives about 50 yards away from the collapsed building, said she rushed to the site and helped neighbors “pull two children out.”

One rescued child was “protected by a mattress and a board above his head, which saved his life,” she said.

  • Cheryl Cole Strikes Back At Simon Cowell’s ‘Ungentlemanly’ Remarks About Her Weight

Cheryl Cole struck back at X Factor judge Simon Cowell after his “ungentlemanly” comments about her weight made made during a recent interview.

“I heard this rumour and I think a gentleman should never speak about a woman’s age or weight but that’s only if you’re educated on how to treat a woman” said Cole to Yahoo Celebrity, as reported on Thursday, at The X Factor launch.

“So, unlucky for him. And who listens to Simon Cowell these days anyway? Does anybody? I don’t listen to him anymore.”

Wut Roh! Think this could get ugly.

Cowell made the offensive remarks while explaining the decision to drop her from the lineup of the US version of the show during an interview earlier in the week with the Radio Times.

“When I saw her I didn’t recognize her,” Cowell said, as reported by The Daily Mirror.

“Literally. The hair and outfit were crazy. Just totally crazy. I asked her manager, ‘What’s she wearing, what’s happened to her hair?’

“He was defensive about it. I haven’t a clue why she turned up like that.”

“She’d put on a bit of weight, but not loads. That wasn’t the issue.

“The only way I can describe it is that it wasn’t Cheryl sitting in that seat. She’d lost her confidence.”

Cowell had other reasons for the falling ratings on the American version of the show.

“In hindsight I don’t think that first day worked anyway.

“There was something not quite right about that show in America.”

“We were all wound up. There was so much expectation on the show in America and I definitely wasn’t myself. I was uptight.”

Cole also remarked that she was confused by other comments made by the British music mogul, especially about pop star judges like Cole feeling threatened by the acts that appear on the show.

“Simon said a lot to the contrary which is interesting. I actually did an interview with just me and him a couple of weeks ago where he was like ‘the reason I love Cheryl and Mel is because they really want to find talent and that they’re not interested in it because they’re an artist,’” she told Yahoo Celebrity.

“I’ve been an artist for 12 years, you know, I found Cher Lloyd and I’ve had two winners.”

And the X-factor judge let out one more little jab towards Cowell.

“The man just needs something else to say he needs some new material, it’s getting boring.”

  • Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg Marry Sans Brother Mark Wahlberg

Jenny McCarthy and Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg were married Sunday.

The nuptials were held at the beautiful and historic Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Illinois, just outside McCarthy’s hometown of Chicago.

According to People magazine, the 41-year-old former The View co-host wore a gown she found during a July shopping excursion at Bergdorf Goodman.

The couple reportedly began dating last summer and became engaged in April in a very unique way.

McCarthy‘s 12-year-old son Evan gave Donnie a hand in the proposal by delivering notes to his mom with the words “Will” and “You” and “Marry,” followed by Donnie’s big entrance wearing a t-shirt that said “Me?”

McCarthy posted a photo on Instagram Saturday that appears to have been taken during weekend celebrations.

In attendance at the ceremony was McCarthy’s The View co-host, Sherri Shepherd, who posted an Instagram photo before boarding a plane to Chicago, with the caption: “Catching an early morning flight to @jennyannmccarthy & @donniewahlberg’s wedding … What a beautiful day to join as one before God! Congrats to two beautiful people!”

Donnie’s New Kids on the Block pals Jordan Knight, Danny Wood and Jonathan Knight also attended the ceremony.

The groom’s brother, Mark Wahlberg, was unable to attend, but tweeted his congratulations.

Mark also posted a congratulatory video on Facebook, which is no longer available.

“I love you, Donnie, we’re very happy for you,” he says in the video, surrounded by his wife and four kids. “Sorry we couldn’t be there, we’ll see you soon.”

    To which the groom responded:

This is the second marriage for both. Donnie also has two sons, 21-year-old Xavier and 13-year-old Elijah.

  • Jennifer Lawrence Private Nude Photos Hacked From the Cloud and Posted, Actress’ Rep Vows to Prosecute

Jennifer Lawrence is having none of this, and no one can blame her. After the Oscar-winning actress fell victim to a nude photo leak, the American Hustle star vowed to prosecute anyone who leaks the photos.

Lawrence‘s rep confirmed the leak Sunday.

“This is a flagrant violation of privacy,” Lawrence’s spokesperson said in a statement, as reported by Variety. “The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”

The photos, which were hacked from the cloud, were posted on the /b/ thread on 4chan and have not been taken down despite Lawrence’s spokesperson’s statement.

Since then, others have posted the photos on social media, but they are being removed from sites like Twitter.

Lawrence is just one of several A-list actresses who were victims of a phone-hacking breach.

According to Buzzfeed, the 24-year-old Hunger Games actress is just one of many A-listers who has been hacked. Others on the posted list include singer Ariana Grande, Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice, supermodel Kate Upton, and actress Kirsten Dunst.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Killer fame appeared to acknowledge photos posted of her are authentic.

Ariana Grande’s reps told Billboard that pictures of the Bang Bang singer were fake, while actress Victoria Justice tweeted the same about alleged shots of herself.

The site claims to have photos of other celebrities including Lea Michele, Selena Gomez, newlywed Gabrielle Union, pregnant Hayden Panettiere, former Disney star Hilary Duff, Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley Cuoco, Mary-Kate Olsen, among others.

  • Joan Rivers Reportedly on Life Support, Situation May Be ‘Dire’

Joan Rivers continues to fight for her life following respiratory and cardiac arrest during a routine throat procedure on Thursday.

The Today show reported Monday morning that the legendary comedienne’s situation could be “dire.”

According to TMZ sources, the 81-year-old E! Fashion Police co-host is currently on life support and is “completely reliant on the machines.”

While the family is said to be hopeful that Rivers will pull through, they will reportedly need to decide soon whether to keep Rivers on life support. TMZ also reports that the family is optimistic that she will improve if and when they decide to remove the the comedienne from the machines.

Rivers’ daughter, Melissa Rivers, thanked people who have expressed love and support for her mother and family in a statement released Sunday.

“Thank you for your continued love and support,” said the younger Rivers in the statement. “We are keeping our fingers crossed.”

On Friday, Rivers daughter described her mother’s condition as serious and said Rivers was “resting comfortably.”

“Her condition remains serious, but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery,” she said in a statement.

Rivers was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital on Thursday after she stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest at a New York City clinic where she was having routine throat surgery.

The Today show reported Monday that it is unknown how long the In Bed With Joan talk show host may have been without oxygen during the medical emergency. She was reportedly placed in a medically induced coma, which safely shuts downs many of the body’s functions to allow the brain to heal following a trauma.

Meanwhile Hollywood continues to tweet their support and love for the ground-breaking comedienne, including her E!’s Fashion Police.

Rivers has always been very open about her health. In 2013, she allowed cameras to follow her during a health scare for the reality show she shares with her daughter, Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?

Doctors apparently discovered a spot on an X-ray after she complained of a persistent cough.

“We’re just not going to be sad about this,” Rivers said in typical fashion during the episode. “We’re gonna do jokes and be up until we know. That’s how I deal with things. I’m not just gonna sit around the next couple of days and go crazy.”

  • Kendall (Jenner) Drops Her Famous Last Name. Why?

Kendall Jenner has decided to drop her famous last name, opting to be known only as Kendall.

The 18-year-old super-model-in-the-making is trying desperately to drop her identity along with her name, so has chosen to follow the path of others with the same branding theory — Cher, Madonna, Prince (or the artist formerly known as Prince), Shakira, and Adele.

The Society Management, her modeling agency, first made the announcement on their website’s profile for “Kendall.”

Apparently, everyone has been in the dark about her name change. Kendall told Us Weekly that she has been going by the single name for months, making the switch with the launch of her fashion career in shows for Marc Jacobs and Giles.

“I did it last year at all the castings too!” she told Us Weekly. “I only go by my first name.”

Kendall didn’t elaborate on the reasons for changing her name.

“It was just my choice,” she said.

One reason may be her perception that her Jenner name and the association with the Kardashian-Jenner family may have hindered her in her life’s ambition to be a super-model.

Kendall said as much in a recent article for the September issue of Teen Vogue.

“People didn’t want to take a chance on me, I think because I was sort of known,” she said. “They were a little bit on the fence about it. Some people might think that what I’ve done before made it easier for me to get jobs, but it was actually a disadvantage. I had to work even harder.”

Kendall also spoke a bit about her non-existent love life for the Teen Vogue article.

“I don’t have a romantic life at the moment, so traveling doesn’t bother me at all,” Kendall said. “But I do want to go home. When I was young, I was the kid who would call my dad from a slumber party to beg him to come pick me up.”

Despite her name reduction, her social media accounts still go by the name, Kendall Jenner.

  • Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher Prepare For Impending Birth of Their Baby Girl

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are anxiously awaiting the impending birth of their first child together — a sweet baby girl. It should be any day now.

With the days until the birth winding down, Kutcher is reportedly keeping close tabs on his pregnant fiancée.

“Ashton is not letting Mila out of his sight. They are spending every moment together,” a source told E! News of the approaching birth. “He can’t wait.”

Before the precious baby girl’s arrival, Kunis is busy “nesting.”

“Right now she’s just getting everything ready,” said the source. “She is making sure the house is prepared and the nursery is stocked. She’s been very involved in everything. She really wants to be a hands-on mom.”

According to E!, the That 70’s Show alum is very excited about having a girl.

“She is beyond thrilled that she’s having a girl. She would have been happy with anything, but she is so excited that it’s a baby girl,” said E!‘s source.

Kunis told Marie Claire that she loves being pregnant and how her body has changed, noting the changes to her breasts.

“They’ve tripled in size. I was a 34A; now I’m a 36C. I’m so excited!” she exclaimed. “I’m telling everyone I know, ‘Go ahead, touch them!’”

The mama-to-be said the couple plan on a natural birth.

“We watched a couple of documentaries and we looked into the…midwife aspect of it and things, and spoke to my OB/GYN and realized that the hospital that I’m going to be laboring in does a midwife, you know, doula type of thing,” she told Ellen DeGeneres in May. “So I’m gonna do it as all-natural as I possibly can unless there’s an emergency or something.”

And she told Marie Claire in July that it will be an intimate birth.

“Two people are allowed in my delivery room,” Kunis said. “My doctor and my significant other. And he is staying above the action. He’ll be head to head. Not head to vag. Unless he wants to risk his life and see.”

  • Ariana Grande Describes Her Love Life With Big Sean in One Word — ‘Happy’

Ariana Grande took a slight grilling about her love life from Matt Lauer during her appearance on Friday’s Today show.

Before performing three songs for the crowd gathered outside Today’s studios at Times Square in New York City, the 21-year-old Bang Bang singer answered questions from the morning show host.

When Lauer asked Grande if anyone has captured her attention in Hollywood, presumably as a way to begin a discussion about her relationship with Rapper Big Sean, the worldwide singing sensation remained rather tight-lipped.

“Oh my goodness,” said Grande in response to Lauer’s question, before firing right back at the inquisitive host, “Has anybody captured your attention?”

“Yeah, I’ve been married for 15 years!” he replied.

“Same!” Grande joked. “I just haven’t told anybody!”

Lauer kept pushing Grande for a response.

“Oh, my goodness! Y’all are putting me on the spot,” Grande said. “I’m happy.”

There it is, that one word — happy.

    We can live with that!

Lauer took a different line of questioning, asking Grande how she stays grounded despite her mega-fame worldwide, especially with her new album, My Everything, topping the charts in over 80 countries.

“I spend a lot of time with my family. I’m very grateful for my fans and everything. It’s like a blessing,” the singer said. “I think I just have to constantly remind myself how lucky I am to do what I love.”

Grande admitted that, like everyone, she has been through struggles but says she has the support of family and friends to tackle whatever comes her way.

“I feel like growing up everybody goes through the same sort of insecurities and things like that. My family really helped me through a lot of that. I know I say that just about with every answer, but staying close with my family and my friends, that really was the most helpful to me,” gushed the singer. “It puts things in perspective. It reminds you of what’s real and what’s nonsense and what not to pay attention to.”

  • Andie MacDowell: ‘I’ve Been Very Open and Honest With My Children On What Not to Do’

Andie MacDowell says she is straight up honest with her kids when it comes to helping them make choices that could affect their lives.

The 56-year-old actress, who currently stars on the Hallmark Channel’s series Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove, told Entertainment Weekly magazine that she had a wholesome upbringing and enjoyed watching some of the more wholesome shows on television in the 70’s.

“My mother and I used to watch Maude, and I think she loved Maude because my mother wanted to see strong women out there with a voice. Marcus Welby, M.D., The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie. Honestly, I didn’t sit around and watch a lot of television. I’ve always been a very active person. But if you could get me to sit down, I loved watching Maude with her.”

The L’Oreál spokeswoman said that while wholesome television shows were staples in her home, she still had a penchant for hard rock. Her 19-year-old daughter, Margaret Qualley, currently works with Liv Tyler on The Leftovers and seems to share her mother’s penchant for hard rock.

“She went to see Aerosmith. And I did go see Aerosmith when I was in high school,” MacDowell told EW. “I was a hard rocker when I was in high school. Not very me now, but I was diggin’ it, big time.”

MacDowell says she is not in the least afraid to share her experiences with her children if it will help them make the right choices as they navigate the crazy world of Hollywood as teenagers.

“I’ve been very open and honest with my children on what not to do. I told them the truth: there are a lot of things I wish I hadn’t [done]. I was straight by the time I was in the eleventh grade—and that’s a pretty scary comment—but I did go see Aerosmith in the tenth grade,” she said.

“I was not legally drinking, but I was drinking.” she continued. “We drank tequila, and there were three of everybody by the time I got to the concert. I went to the bathroom, and I thought it was very strange that everybody parted when I walked in. But thank goodness I got that out of my system really fast, and by the time I was in my senior year, I was making really good grades and I had my act together….We’re laughing about it now, but it really was sad. I regretted it.”

Despite her attempts to model wholesome behavior, the actress conceded to People magazine that she sometimes lets the odd curse word slip.

So when did she last curse? “Two days ago,” she told People. “I never did when my kids [Justin, 28, Rainey, 25, and Margaret, 19] were little, and then I got into a bad habit. I’m working superhard to stop. I try to say ‘shucks’ and ‘dad-gum’ to the best of my ability.”

  • Susan Sarandon on Instant Fame, Social Media Feeding Frenzy and the Need for Legalized Marijuana

Susan Sarandon has to be one of the most authentically outspoken actresses around.

In a recent in-depth interview with the Hollywood Reporter for the release of her new film, Florence, the Oscar-winning actress dished on insta-fame, the social media feeding frenzy and the need for legalized marijuana.

According to Sarandon, there are really two types of celebrities in Hollywood these days — those who legitimately work because of the craft of acting, and those who need the attention and fame.

“We’re living in a world where mediocrity is rewarded,” said the 67-year-old actress. “If that’s not your focus, then you’re looking for the heat, to be validated by people you don’t necessarily respect or know, and so you’ve got yourself in a difficult, self-perpetuating, crazy ass feeding cycle. I’ve worked with a lot of young actors on the brink, and you can definitely see the difference between someone like Jake Gyllenhaal who is always interested in the work and do character parts, or Brad Pitt who could’ve gotten by just being pretty, who are really serious about trying different things. They like being an actor. It’s not just being famous.”

The Thelma and Louise actress explained that it’s all about being famous now and seeking a worthy endeavor is no longer the goal.

“I think we help people become famous for ten minutes now — it’s not even fifteen — so easily and constantly, that the goal has switched from finding something that you like to do to being famous,” Sarandon told the Hollywood Reporter. “I think it’s great that people are posting all kinds of things that they do, but some of them are just not really very worthy for that rush of all eyes on you.”

Sarandon conceded that she too falls prey to the social media feeding frenzy.

“I even find myself, since my dog has a Twitter account, an obligation to post every now and then,” she said. “It becomes like a whole other pet or something that you have to feed and be aware of! It’s such an interesting time in terms of what media has done.”

Sarandon concluded that it’s because of the constant need be on social media that marijuana should be legalized and regulated as a means to disconnect from the need to be online.

“One of the reasons I’m such a champion of the legalization and regulation of marijuana is that I feel that people need to disconnect from constantly being on — checking all the time, all the time, all the time,” Sarandon told the Hollywood Reporter. “Twitter and all these different outlets in themselves aren’t bad, but it becomes very hard to be present, and that’s what the goal has to be: to be authentic, kind and present, and if you could accomplish those three things, I think it’s a life well-lived.”

  • Jennifer Lawrence Being Wooed by Coldplay’s Chris Martin?

Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin dating rumors still come as a bit of a shock.

However, things may be heating up between the twosome, and it could be only a matter of time before the two step out officially as a couple.

According to Us Weekly, the Coldplay frontman has been wooing the Oscar-winning actress five months after splitting from Gwyneth Paltrow.

“Chris is sweeping Jen off her feet,” a source told the weekly magazine of the Coldplay singer’s affection for Lawrence. “That’s his thing.”

Apparently, the Coldplay singer is making great efforts to seduce the 24-year-old actress through song and romance.

“He writes her songs and loves taking her to private, romantic spots,” said the source.

And if Us sources can be believed, the Hunger Games actress is falling for his tactics.

“The better she gets to know him, the more she likes him,” an insider allegedly told Us. “She says he’s superfunny and sweet.”

The same source said the 34-year-old father of two’s personality is just the tip of the attraction iceberg for Lawrence — she seems to be equally attracted to his talent.

“Jen was blown away at his London show,” the source said. “His music is absolutely part of the attraction!”

Lawrence and Martin have been reportedly dating for about two months, and Lawrence split from her British boyfriend Nicholas Hoult in early August.

The singer and wife Gwyneth Paltrow had a “conscious uncoupling” five months ago after 10 years of marriage. Since then, the former couple have been seen out and about from time to time and were still living together in June. They seem to remain friends despite the split, and sources told Us Paltrow has no objections to this new conscious coupling.

“Her take is, ‘Hey, he could do worse,’” a Paltrow pal told Us of the 41-year-old actress.

  • Drew Barrymore’s Half-Sister, Jessica Barrymore, Died From an Accidental Overdose

The death of Drew Barrymore‘s half-sister, Jessica Barrymore, has been ruled an accidental drug overdose.

The 47-year-old was found dead in her car on a street in National City, California, near San Diego, on July 29, allegedly with dozens of white pills scattered on the passenger seat.

According to the San Diego Coroner’s Office, Jessica died of acute intoxication, and had alcohol, methamphetamine, methadone, tramadol and nordiazepam in her system at the time of death.

Jessica is the daughter of John Barrymore and Nina Wayne.

“Although I only met her briefly, I wish her and her loved ones as much peace as possible, and I’m so incredibly sorry for their loss,” Drew said in a statement to E! News after Jessica’s death.

According to local ABC affiliate 10News, police were called to the scene by Jessica’s neighbor, Marta Lopez, who told police she couldn’t get to work because Jessica’s Toyota Camry was blocking her driveway.

Another neighbor, Oscar Sandoval, told 10News Jessica’s car hadn’t moved since “around midnight” the evening before, explaining, “I thought she was sleeping or waiting for someone.”

Jessica apparently worked at a Petco animal supply store in the area.

“Jessica was always a helpful person,” her friend and co-worker Dawn Scott told 10News. “If we had any problems she would help us work things out. She would always put people first… She was one awesome, helpful person and she’s someone we’re all going to miss.”

“Jessica always had a positive attitude at work, great with customers, us and animals,” said Dawn Vaughn, a former Petco co-worker. “Awesome sense of humor and always had a smile for you, very generous in heart and spirit. This world lost a wonderful human being for sure.”
