  • Susan Boyle Finds Love at Last By Landing Her First Boyfriend at 53

Susan Boyle is 53 years old and has landed her first boyfriend.

The singer, who made her fairy-tale singing debut on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009 with I Dreamed a Dream, says she met her guy during a recent tour.

In an interview with The Sun via The Mirror, Boyle told the tale of her new relationship.

After enjoying a romantic dinner, Boyle and her “perfect gentleman” decided to pursue a relationship.

“I don’t want to say any more about who he is right now as that would be unfair on him,” she said. “All I’ll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy.”

“It’s very early days so we’ll see what happens,” she added of her American doctor beau. “I hope he comes over.”

During her memorable 2009 audition, Boyle shocked the world with her impressive (and surprising) voice and her surprising confession that she had “never been kissed.”

While making the film The Christmas Candle, she did enjoy her first on-screen kiss.

“It was lovely,” she said after the film wrapped. “I didn’t know about the kissing scene when I signed up, but I wasn’t complaining.”

Boyle recently released her sixth album, Hope, and is currently on tour.

Yes, life is good for Susan Boyle.

  • Alyson Hannigan Keeps Her Kids TV and Movie-Free, No ‘Frozen’ in Their Household

Alyson Hannigan says she is holding off letting her children watch television and see movies for as long as possible.

“My kids don’t watch television yet,” Hannigan says of five-and-a half-year-old Satyana Marie and two-and-a-half-year-old Keeva Jane.

“It’s probably getting to the point where we’ll introduce it to Sati now,” said the How I Met Your Mother actress. “We were waiting for her to start begging us. She’ll ask occasionally, but until recently she didn’t know we had a television so it was a non-issue.

“I think she was convinced for a long time that the only thing on television was either news or sports because when you go to restaurants that’s what they’re playing,” she said.

Hannigan made her comments during the first day of recording for a guest-voice role on Disney Channel’s Sofia the First in a new episode premiering Dec. 12.

The 40-year-old actress said she has always been drawn to animation, quoting her Buffy the Vampire Slayer director, Joss Whedon.

“I think Joss put it perfectly when he said, ‘I feel like if we opened you up, a cartoon would just pop out,’” Hannigan said. “I think that’s the most fitting description of me.”

On Sophia, Hannigan plays Winter, a “gentle faun who yearns for a special ability — only to realize she was special all along,” according to People.

Surprisingly, Hannigan‘s children have not even seen Frozen.

“The Frozen thing was hard” to avoid, admitted Hannigan. “But we gave her all the books, so she’s obsessed. And she knows the soundtrack back and forth.”

She added that Satyana did watch the film on a recent flight, although she had to watch it on mute.

“We let her watch it without the sound,” says Hannigan. “We figured if she’s just going to lean over and watch it on someone else’s screen, we can just put it on the screen in front of her. So she says she’s seen Frozen. Pretty much!”

Come on, Alyson, let it go…

  • Joan Rivers’ Death May Have Been Preventable, Report Shares Shocking Details

Joan Rivers’ death may very well have been preventable.

A new report shares shocking details surrounding her “routine” procedure that eventually resulted in her death.

According to the report, doctors involved in the procedure continued working on her throat with a surgical instrument despite plummeting vital signs.

The doctors also allegedly delayed calling 911 for at least 10 minutes and instead tried to revive her themselves, this according to the New York Post. Dr. Lawrence Cohen from Yorkville Endoscopy and Joan’s own ENT, Dr. Gwen Korovin, attempted to resuscitate Rivers, but failed.

“She had no heartbeat, no pulse, she wasn’t breathing,” one insider said of Rivers’ condition when first responders finally arrived at the Upper East Side clinic at 9:47 a.m Aug. 28.

“She had cyanosis around the lips and the mouth — that’s when your lips turn blue from lack of oxygen,” said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity. “That takes several minutes without oxygen.”

The Post report says even before Joan went into cardiac arrest, her pulse and blood pressure were dropping quickly, but the doctors continued scoping her larynx and trachea for those 10 minutes that were critical.

Rivers‘ pulse also reportedly sank to 47 prior to the anethesiologist administering Propofol.

TMZ broke the story of a federal report which says there were major problems with the amount of Propofol used on Rivers.

Apparently, the Department of Health and Human Services examined the Yorkville Endoscopy Center, where Joan stopped breathing. The department found no record of the staff weighing Rivers before administering the Propofol, which determines the amount of sedative necessary for a patient.

Dr. Korovin and Dr. Cohen have not responded to reports detailing alleged errors during the procedure.

  • Sienna Miller Gushes Over ‘American Sniper’ Co-star Bradley Cooper

Sienna Miller had nothing but good things to say recently about her American Sniper co-star Bradley Cooper.

According to the Boston Globe, the 32-year-old actress gushed over Cooper for his dedication to his work, calling him a “phenomenal actor” who was fearless in showing his character’s emotions.

“He never broke character, so I really got to know Chris Kyle before Bradley Cooper,” said Miller, referring to Cooper’s character in the film.

The British actress, who portrays Chris Kyle’s wife Tara in the film, took a few moments to speak on the nature of war. Over the summer, she volunteered at a Syrian refugee camp in Lebanon and said that between her charity efforts and working on American Sniper, she has a newfound respect for all those who put their lives on the line to defend their country.

The Clint Eastwood-directed American Sniper will be released in theaters on January 6, 2015.

Meanwhile, the first full-length trailer for Miller’s film Unfinished Business, in which she stars alongside Vince Vaughn, was released on Nov. 27.

The Ken Scott-directed film follows the trials of Vaughn‘s character, who goes from being an employee of Sienna Miller’s company to becoming one of her greatest competitors for a major client, despite the fact he is just starting his company and doesn’t have the resources of his former employer.

The David v. Goliath-themed movie also stars James Marsden, Dave Franco, June Diane Raphael and Nick Frost.

Unfinished Business is scheduled to be released in theaters on March 6, 2015.

  • Teri Hatcher Addresses the UN in an Emotionally Raw Speech Detailing Her Experience of Sexual Abuse By Her Uncle

Teri Hatcher, the actress best known for her role on Desperate Housewives, addressed the UN on Nov. 25 about sexual abuse that she suffered as a seven-year-old child at the hands of her uncle.

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women in New York was the setting for the Lois & Clark actress’ emotionally raw speech.

“I am one of three women, who for the rest of her life battles the voice in her head that accepts blame for abuse, a voice that is antithetical to self-esteem, self-worth and happiness. This is a statistic that has to change. I am one in three and I will be the one who yells from the rooftops until those numbers change. Until every woman who has faced abuse feels less alone and safe enough to find the courage to have her own voice. Until violence against women is no longer a part of any woman’s story, silence will not be a part of mine,” said the actress, who kept silent about the abuse until she was 18, when she finally told her parents.

“I was convinced it was my fault and I blamed myself for what had happened, so I didn’t tell anyone and I was silent,” Hatcher said. “I did however, unsurprisingly, start to act out and my mother decided to keep me away from my uncle. I didn’t see him anymore, but no one in my family ever asked exactly what happened. We remained silent.”

“My mother and father had suspected something had happened, but they were just burdened by their own confusing anger and helplessness that they were paralyzed into their own silence,” she added.

The family kept their secret for another 20 years until an 11-year-old girl took her own life after being abused by Hatcher’s uncle, which led the actress to publicly reveal her secret.

“In a suicide note, she implicated my uncle, who had been sexually abusing her for years. I was shocked and devastated and overwhelmed by the idea that he had continued his abuse,” said the emotional actress.

By bringing hew own sexual abuse to light, Hatcher helped convict her uncle, who remained in prison until his death.

Like most victims of sexual abuse, Hatcher said, although she was relieved when her abuser was stopped, the scars remain.

“I am simply one of three women who is forced to accept violence as a part of their life story,” she said.

Hatcher received a standing ovation for her heartfelt, brutally honest speech.

The conference had another goal — the launching of the Orange Your Neighborhood initiative, an initiative which was developed via the UNITE campaign by UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon.

Hatcher’s speech was the kick off to the 16-day movement aimed at ending violence against women internationally.

This will be the second marriage for the 33-year-old comedian, who was previously married to Randall Whittinghill. The couple split in 2013, just months after her cult hit sitcom Happy Endings was canceled.

“I used every bit of my personal life,” the actress told the Daily Beast recently. “I really did just pour it all into that. And I’m on great terms with my ex-husband, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s still a divorce.”

    Family fun time.

  • Tracy Morgan May Never Work Again, Suffering From Lingering Affects of Brain Injury

Tracy Morgan May Never Work Again, Suffering From Lingering Affects of Brain Injury

Tracy Morgan is not faring well following a limo crash he was involved in earlier this year.

According to the comedian’s lawyer, Morgan’s condition is so grave, he may never perform again.

“The jury’s still out,” Benedict Morelli told the New York Post. “The doctors don’t know the answer. I don’t know the answer.”

The 45-year-old 30 Rock star was critically injured in June when his limo collided with a Walmart tractor trailer in New Jersey following a performance. His friend, comedian James “Jimmy Mack” McNair, was killed in the crash.

Earlier this week, Walmart put the blame on Morgan and his other passengers for the injuries they sustained when the Walmart truck collided into the rear of their limo, saying it was their choice not to wear seatbelts. Morgan responded by releasing a statement saying he and his friends “were doing nothing wrong.”

“After I heard what Walmart said in court I felt I had to speak out,” Morgan said in a statement. “I can’t believe Walmart is blaming me for an accident that they caused.”

“My friends and I were doing nothing wrong,” he continued. “I want to thank my fans for sticking with me during this difficult time.”

Morelli lashed out at Walmart for blaming the comedian and his friends Monday in court during a federal lawsuit filed in July for not wearing their seatbelts, a “disregard of [their] own interests.”

“These people are despicable,” said Morelli. “They knew that they changed these people’s lives forever and killed somebody.”

Morelli continued with his angry tirade against the retail giant’s efforts to lay the blame on the limo’s passengers.

“They’re good blame shifters. I guess that’s how they make $783 billion a year, shifting the blame.”

According to the Post, Morgan is using a wheelchair and is undergoing daily speech, cognitive, vocational and physical therapies to regain function.

  • Emily Blunt Says She ‘Saved’ Meryl Streep’s Life While Working on ‘Into the Woods’

Emily Blunt Says She ‘Saved’ Meryl Streep’s Life While Working on ‘Into the Woods’

    Emily Blunt is a life-saver … literally.

While visiting the Late Show With David Letterman on Tuesday, the 31-year-old shared how she saved Meryl Streep, her Into the Woods, from taking a nasty fall on set.

“I did save her life,” exclaimed Blunt, who was pregnant at the time of the accident. “We were rehearsing a scene where she’s playing the Witch and she’s supposed to jump on the table with a cape and everything. And I just saw this thing happen in slow motion. You know when you see something awful happen and it’s like the sound cuts out? Meryl Streep’s foot got caught in her cape and we just slowly stared to watch her topple head first towards the concrete floor.”

“Rob Marshall [director] and James Corden froze, didn’t move,” she marveled. “And the pregnant woman caught her…so she owes me, big time.”

The much-anticipated movie adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s Tony Award-winning musical, which will be directed by Rob Marchall, is the second film on which the actresses have worked together. They teamed up in 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada and Blunt joked about their characters’ sparring matches in the film.

“Yeah, she tormented me in that [Devil Wears Prada] and now she’s tormenting me in this movie,” said Blunt, who plays the baker’s wife in the film-version of the musical. “She’s the Witch that has cast a horrible spell on our house. So I just said this is it we couldn’t have any other dynamic now. You just have to hate me.”

Blunt told Letterman she thinks the roles need to be reversed in their next on-screen matchup to even out the score.

“Well she owes me. That’s why I think at some point I should play the Queen of Versailles and she could be my lonely dressmaker…” she said. “I mentioned it to her and her response was ‘dream on.’”

Blunt went on to share her real thoughts on the legendary actress.

“She’s so amazing it’s, like, annoying at this point.”

  • Kirk Cameron Blames ‘Haters and Atheists’ for Low Ratings for His Film, ‘Saving Christmas’

Kirk Cameron tried to bolster low ratings for his new film, Saving Christmas, in a most unusual way on Friday.

“Keep storming! The gates of Rotten Tomatoes are falling! You are A M A Z I N G! You just drove the Rotten Tomato rating to an all-time high, soaring high of 94%! Now the haters and atheists are coming out of the woodwork, attempting to hammer your good work (they rallied to drop your rating super low),” Cameron posted on Facebook. “They are attempting, once again, to ruin Saving Christmas for everyone. Look at their language, vulgarity, and spirit of hate.”

This is the second time Cameron decided to take to Facebook to speak on his film. First, he asked the public to help improve the ratings of the film on Rotten Tomatoes.

“All of you who love Saving Christmas—go rate it at Rotten Tomatoes right now and send the message to all the critics that WE decide what movies we want our families to see,” Cameron wrote. “If 2,000 of you (out of almost 2 million on this page) take a minute to rate Saving Christmas, it will give the film a huge boost and more will see it as a result!”

When that backfired, he went with a different approach, attacking those he called ‘haters and atheists.”

However, his tactics seem to have had some impact.

Still, he continues to encourage fans to go see the film, which opens in theaters on Saturday.

“They can try to ruin a rating, but they can’t stop you from going with family and friends to see Saving Christmas this weekend!” Cameron posted. “If people continue to turn out, the theaters will hold the movie longer. YOU have the power, just like with Rotten Tomatoes, to keep Saving Christmas in the theaters. Your support sends a very loud message. Films like Soul Surfer, God’s Not Dead, Courageous and Saving Christmas are small lights in a dark world. Together, let’s light up movie theaters this weekend and remind everyone this Christmas of the true reason for the season. Together, they can’t stop us! Are you with me??”

The actress told Us Weekly on Nov. 21 at her mother Goldie Hawn‘s charity event Love In For Kids that the secret to looking good is working “your ass off.”

After admitting that, like most girls, she loves “real serious double double burger, fries, and Coke,” the 35-year-old blonde beauty admitted that she has to works out like crazy to keep her fabulous shape.

“You [have to] work your ass off, that’s the only way. [And] you have to eat right,” Hudson said. “Everybody wants some sort of secret and there just isn’t, it’s just you have to work out.”

Hudson said she has been practicing Pilates for 15 years and said consistency is the key.

“I wouldn’t say [I work out] a lot, just consistently…People think for some reason you have to work out for two and a half hours…but, it can be little,” said Hudson. “It can be 20 minutes, it could be 40 minutes, but you have to [get it in]. You can’t do like two weeks and go like do two days and then take a week off and then do three days and then go, ‘Why aren’t I [seeing results?] I don’t get it.’ You know, you just got to do it — sad, like anything else in life!”

  • Amber Vinson, the Dallas Nurse Who Had Ebola, Seeks a Refund From Bridal Shop

Amber Vinson, the nurse who contracted Ebola and caused a furor when she boarded a plane, sent a letter to an Ohio bridal shop Saturday asking for a refund.

The letter came as a shock to the owner of Coming Attractions Bridal and Formal, Anna Younker, especially considering she had to close the store to have it cleaned because of the Ebola scare last month.

Younker told FOX 8’s Lorrie Taylor she received the notification from Vinson’s attorney, asking for a refund of the deposits and payments made towards the bridesmaids’ dresses.

“In order to minimize additional public scrutiny, Amber decided it would be best if she used another bridal shop,” said Vinson’s attorney, Stephen F. Malouf. “Due to the most unusual circumstances, Amber and I would ask that Coming Attractions refund the deposits and payments made towards the costs of the bridesmaids’ dresses.”

In October, the owner made the decision to close the shop to have it cleaned after Amber Vinson visited the store during a trip to Ohio to prepare for her wedding. The nurse began to develop symptoms of Ebola just before getting on a plane for the return home to Dallas.

Younker said her bridal shop remained closed for few weeks while a professional cleaning company sterilized the store and dresses, losing thousands of dollars as a result.

Younker apparently didn’t hear from Vinson until she received the letter on Saturday, which came as a shock, she said.

Vinson was declared Ebola-free in October.

  • Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch and Kelly Reilly Join the Cast of ‘True Detective’

Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch and Kelly Reilly have joined the cast of True Detective.

HBO announced the addition of the threesome for the series’ second season on Monday. They will join Colin Farrell, who is set to play a dirty police officer, and Vince Vaughn.

According to HBO, McAdams will play Ani Bezzerides, an officer for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department “whose uncompromising ethics put her at odds with others and the system she serves,” according to the network’s press release.

Kitsch’s character, Paul Woodrugh, is a veteran and California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer. Woodrugh is “running from a difficult past and the sudden glare of a scandal that never happened.”

Reilly will play a struggling actress and the wife of Vince Vaughn’s character, Frank Semyon.

Semyon is “a criminal and entrepreneur in danger of losing his empire when his move into legitimate enterprise is upended by the murder of a business partner.”

Kitsch told AdWeek last month that he was “really excited” to get started, as rumors swirled that he would be part of the hit series.

“I’ve just been prepping. It’s been almost a full year since I’ve been on camera, so I’m itching, man,” he said. “I’m overdue. You’ve just got to grind it out. Even taking this year off was, I mean you want to work, but you also don’t want to just water it down and work for the sake of working. So, it was tough to sit a year out, keeping a finger crossed that I was going to get True.”

Gigi Hadid and Cody Simpson are on again.

According to E! News, a source close to Simpson confirmed the news that the twosome are once again a couple.

“They are trying to make it work.,” said the source.

Hadid and Simpson, who broke up earlier in the year, were reportedly “inseparable” at Friday’s Just Jared Homecoming Dance presented by Ever After High.

According to reports, the couple arrived together, never left each other’s sides throughout the entire evening, held hands, danced and mingled with other guests, which included Kendall Jenner.

Yea, sounds like they are definitely on again.

A source told E! News that they “looked like a giddy young couple and left together holding hands at 2 a.m.”

Shortly after their split, Hadid told Women’s Wear Daily that their split was on amicable terms.

“We’re still best friends and I’ll always respect him and support his career,” she said. “I love Cody to death and he loves me.”

Hadid revealed at the time that the breakup was his idea.

“He needed his time to focus on his music. He’s the one who broke up with me.”

A spokesperson for ‘La Da Dee’ hitmaker Cody also said at the time: “They decided that rather than let things sour that they split up in hopes that their lives might someday bring them back together.

“They remain close friends and will continue to show their support for one and other.”

A spokesperson for Simpson issued a statement at the time of their breakup that hinted that they might one day reunite.

”They decided that rather than let things sour that they split up in hopes that their lives might someday bring them back together,” said the spokesperson. ”They remain close friends and will continue to show their support for one and other.”

  • Michael Schumacher Is ‘Making Progress’ In His Recovery From Skiing Accident That Left Him Gravely Injured

Michael Schumacher, the former Formula One champion who was severely injured in a skiing accident in December, continues to make slow progress.

Sabine Kehm, Schumacher’s manager, told German TV station RTL that the driver is “making progress considering the severity of his injury” and “you have to give it time. I think you really just have to have patience.”

The seven-time Formula One champion, who lives in Gland, Switzerland, suffered severe brain damage, which left him in a coma for six months

Kehm said it was ‘not possible’ to say how long it would take for the 45-year-old to fully recover and expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of love and support that has been offered to the beloved racer and his family.

“The family is really very thankful and also very moved by it… I can only say again that the family is very happy and touched by the sympathetic messages. I think that positive energy can have a good effect,” said Kehm.

According to the Daily Mail, a French doctor treating Schumacher said he was making progress, but will need years to fully recover.

The newspaper also reports Schumacher is paralyzed and in a wheelchair. In addition, he is unable to speak and has memory issues, according to former racing driver Philippe Streiff.

  • Ryan Reynolds Opens Up About Impending Fatherhood, Saying ‘I’m Just Excited About Having a Buddy’

Ryan Reynolds Opens Up About Impending Fatherhood, Saying ‘I’m Just Excited About Having a Buddy’

Ryan Reynolds says he’s very excited about having a baby with wife Blake Lively in early 2015.

The hunky actor got specific about daddy duty, saying he truly is a tough guy and diapers don’t scare him at all.

“I don’t have a weak stomach,” Reynolds told People Magazine Saturday at The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research Benefit in New York. “I’m good with diapers and diarrhea and all that kind of stuff because I have lots of nieces and nephews, so I’ve done it all before.”

The 38-year-old actor says the couple doesn’t know the sex of the baby — and they’ve said they don’t want to know before the birth — but he does say he counts on having a close relationship with the little tyke.

“I’m just excited about having a buddy,” he said. “We don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl yet, but whatever it is, you have this tether to reality that never goes away.”

Reynolds is already proving to be great at taking care of those he loves — Lively admitted to People that he “takes pretty good care of me.”

It’s obvious from Reynolds‘ words that he cares deeply about being a good parent, and is wise enough to know that it’s not going to be easy.

“For a lot of new dads, you tend to dwell on the mistakes you don’t want to make,” he said. “I’m at that stage still where I’m focused primarily on being open and understanding and leaving a lot of room for error.”

Reynolds described his own father in a Thanksgiving story he wrote for Time.

According to Reynolds, his father was “the toughest man alive: a former cop, former boxer and full-time landmine. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and in return, you were expected to do what he said, often before he said it. In a word, he was scary. Not because he was sadistic or physically abusive. He was scary because he was one of those people with an energetic ‘weight’ to him.”

  • Lisa Bonet: Tweets Attributed to the Former ‘Cosby Show’ Actress Are a Hoax, Confirms Manager

Lisa Bonet‘s name was in the news over the past 24 hours because of tweets that seemingly suggested the former The Cosby Show actress was condemning her television dad, Bill Cosby, on sexual misconduct allegations that have made headlines of late. However, her manager vehemently insists the tweets did not come from Bonet.

“I can assure you that is not her Twitter account and I have had the account suspended,” talent manager Jillian Neal told TheWrap Sunday.

The reports surround an unverified Twitter account, onto which was posted a cryptic message that included the words, “Nothing stays in the dark 4ever!”

Bonet, 47, played Cosby’s daughter, Denise Huxtable, on the hit NBC series The Cosby Show. Neal said the actress ”continues to have no comment on the subject” of alleged sexual misconduct by Cosby.

The number of women who have come forward to accuse the 77-year-old TV legend of sexual misconduct, which include accusations of rape, has grown to 16.

Despite the controversy, Cosby still has fans rooting for and supporting him.

He received two standing ovations during a sold-out performance on Friday night in Melbourne, Florida.

Cosby didn’t mention the controversy during his performance, but he briefly broke his silence with reporters after the show.

“I know people are tired of me not saying anything, but a guy doesn’t have to answer to innuendos,” Cosby said. “People should fact check. People shouldn’t have to go through that and shouldn’t answer to innuendos.”

Geri Halliwell, former Ginger Spice for the Spice Girls, announced her engagement to her fiancé, Red Bull Formula One boss Christian Horner, last week and says she is ‘absolutely thrilled’ to be planning for her wedding.

Halliwell and Horner spoke publicly to The Telegraph about their engagement for the first time at Sentebale Polo Cup in Abu Dhabi, which was also attended by another ginger, Prince Harry, for his charity work for African children.

The singer admitted that she was “absolutely thrilled” to be making wedding plans. As for Horner, he said he was “delighted.”

The couple began dating last March and have yet to announce a wedding date.

Halliwell told reporters she has watched Prince Harry grow up and says his work is “brilliant.”

“I have met Prince Harry a few times. I’ve seen him since he was about ten. I have seen him grow up. It is brilliant what he is doing with his life,” she said. “It’s all for a good cause.

“I think he is a great ambassador for showing people that we care and he’s got great spirit and heart. I think he’s brilliant. We are looking forward to seeing him in action.”

The singer didn’t seem to know a whole lot about polo. However, she did say she had been on a polo pony before, describing them as “amazing…I want to say like a Ferrari…”

“No don’t say Ferrari, it’s Red Bull!” corrected her new fiancé, referring to his Red Bull F1 team, for which he has been captain for the past nine years.

  • Katherine Heigl Threatened Husband Josh Kelley That She’d Date John Mayer to Get Him to Commit

Katherine Heigl recently revealed some interesting facts about how she snagged her husband, singer Josh Kelley.

The State of Affairs actress told Meredith Vieira on her show that she once threatened to date John Mayer in order to get her husband to commit.

“Around the same time I met Josh, I also met John Mayer,” said Heigl. “John Mayer and I are from neighboring towns and knew some of the same people. My Josh had gone off on tour and was playing hard to get. So I didn’t know — are we a thing? Are we a couple?”

The 35-year-old actress said that she was also spending time with Mayer. Heigl said the relationship with Mayer was completely platonic, but that didn’t keep the sneaky girl from letting Kelley think there might be more to it in order to get his attention.

“So, we were just hanging out a little bit but I completely used John to get Josh to commit,” Heigl admitted.

“These musicians, they are competitive and jealous of each other,” Heigl said. “[So] over the phone, because he was on tour, I was like, ‘Josh, I’ve got to be honest. I just want to know where we stand because if not, I might try to pursue something with John.’”

She told Vieira that she finally confessed her ruse to Kelley a few years later.

“[I confessed] probably a year into our marriage. I was like, ‘You got played!’” she said.

All’s well that ends well, however. Heigl and Kelley did marry in December 2009, four years after meeting in 2005 when she played his love interest in his Only You music video. They are the parents of daughters Naleigh, five, and Adalaide, two.

  • Al Pacino Calls the Late Mike Nichols the ‘Greatest Director I Ever Worked With’

Al Pacino called Mike Nichols, who died suddenly on Wednesday at the age of 83, the “greatest director” he ever worked with.

That is high praise considering Pacino has worked with some of the greatest directors of all time, including Francis Ford Coppola, Oliver Stone and Steven Soderbergh.

Pacino told Us Weekly Thursday while promoting his movie The Humbling at New York City’s 21 Club that the news of Nichols’ death came as a shock.

“Oh, man. It just knocked me out,” said Pacino. “I’m not over the shock yet. Not that I ever will be. The shock of it is so much, it’s hard to talk about it right now. It’s hard to believe.”

The Godfather actor worked with Nichols in 2003 on the HBO miniseries Angels in America. Both the actor and the EGOT-winning director won Emmys for the project. Pacino won for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie, and Nichols won for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie, or a Dramatic Special.

The 74-year-old actor praised the legendary director, calling him the “greatest director.”

“I loved him so,” Pacino told Us. “He was my friend, and he was the greatest director I ever worked with. He was.”

Pacino told The Hollywood Reporter he also considered Nichols a friend.

“I loved Mike. I worked with him, and he was a friend,” he said.

Director Barry Levinson, who directed Pacino in The Humbling and was with Pacino at the luncheon, concurred.

“His work is exceptional, and he’s one of those guys that has an impact as a director in this business,” said Levinson. “He was a man that could handle comedy and drama in an effortless fashion, and he took some risks.”
