  • Monica Lewinsky Shares ‘Devastating Consequences’ of Affair With Bill Clinton to Fight Cyberbullying in TED Talk

Monica Lewinsky appeared in Vancouver Thursday for a TED Talk and went straight to the point.

“At the age of 22, I fell in love with my boss. And at the age of 24, I learned the devastating consequences,” began Monica Lewinsky.

Monica Lewinsky’s TED Talk appearance and sharing details of her famed affair with former president Bill Clinton seems to coincide suspiciously with Hillary Clinton’s ramp-up to a presidential run.

Lewinsky once again acknowledged her role in the affair and shared how the aftermath has affected the rest of her life.

“Now I admit I made mistakes — especially wearing that beret — but the attention and judgment that I received — not the story, but that I personally received — was unprecedented,” said Monica Lewinsky. “I was branded as a tramp, tart, slut, whore, bimbo and, of course, ‘that woman.’ I was known by many, but actually known by few. I get it. It was easy to forget ‘that woman’ was dimensional and had a soul.”

For many years, Lewinsky remained in the background, but she has emerged of late with a new image and very outspoken against cyberbullying, which was the subject of her TED Talk.

Because of the timing of the affair, Lewinsky was one of the first to be harassed by internet trolls, even before the term became commonplace.

However, Monica Lewinsky said that early harassment was nothing compared to what some experience today.

“Public humiliation as a blood sport has to stop,” said Lewinsky. “We need to return to a long-held value of compassion and empathy.”

Monica Lewinsky offered encouragement to those who are bullied on the internet, reminding them that there is always a future, despite the pain and devastation.

“Anyone who is suffering from shame and public humiliation needs to know one thing: you can survive it,” she said. “I know it’s hard. It may not be painless, quick or easy, but you can insist on a different ending to your story.”

  • Amanda Bynes Reappears on Twitter, Posting a Self-Portrait Drawing

Amanda Bynes returned to her official Twitter account Monday to post what appears to be a self-portrait she said she drew herself.

“Hey my loves! Here’s a drawing I did! ily :D” Bynes wrote.

The drawing is a penciled portrait and appears to be Amanda Bynes herself.

The image is the first post Amanda Bynes has sent out in months and it is a much more positive tweet than has been the norm over the past year or so.

Amanda Bynes, who has reportedly been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, has had her ups and downs played out in her social media posts that range from disturbing rants to periods of complete silence.

Before Monday’s tweet, she last posted updates in December on her plans to return to school.

“I took a USC campus tour yesterday it was sick! I plan on transferring from FIDM,” she wrote on Dec. 17. “The campus is sick!”

Amanda Bynes remains under the conservatorship of her parents after she was involuntarily committed to a mental hospital.

A June 23 hearing is set to evaluate her progress.

Meanwhile, Amanda Bynes reportedly has been posting from a secret Twitter account, under the name Ashley Banks. The account posts photos of Amanda Bynes and tweets daily, and although it seems like it may be posts from the actress, the rumors are unconfirmed.

  • Emmy Rossum Tried to Welcome New Neighbor, Justin Bieber; It Didn’t Go So Well

Emmy Rossum has a new next door neighbor in her Beverly Hills neighborhood, Justin Bieber, but he’s not necessarily reciprocating her generousity.

Emmy Rossum told the gang at SiriusXM’s Sway in the Mornings that she tried to go by Justin Bieber’s new digs and welcome him to the neighborhood, but it didn’t exactly go as planned.

“Justin Bieber just moved into the house next door to me,” Emmy Rossum said. “He’s my new next door neighbor and I went over to offer him a neighborly hello and I’m not going to do that anymore,” she said. “He has a ton of bodyguards there and they’re really scary.”

Poor, neighborly Emmy Rossum was shooed off by his crew, but she did get a glimpse of the star.

“He pulled up in his Bentley and then went inside…he was actually rapping as he got out of the car. He was like, ‘Ball so hard motherf—kers wanna’…and I was like, yup, Justin Bieber is my neighbor, that’s cool.”

Let’s hope things go better for Emmy Rossum than Bieber’s previous neighbors.

Justin Bieber, 21, hasn’t always been the best of neighbors and has even reportedly spit on neighbors. He was embroiled in a lawsuit with a Calabasas neighbor whom he egged. He was required to pay $80,000 in restitution.

“It was so surreal for me,” Emmy Rossum said of living next to Justin Bieber. “I’m not going to ask for a cup of sugar.”

When asked if she planned to party with the Biebs, Emmy Rossum responded with a laugh, “I don’t think he’s going to invite me. I think I’m too old for his demo.”

  • Ashley Judd Pens Powerful Essay Against Twitter Trolls, Sharing Her Experiences of Rape and Incest

Ashley Judd drew the line in the sand this week after having had enough of Twitter trolls.

In retaliation for offensive tweets directed at the Ashley Judd after she posted her own tweet during the SEC Basketball Championship, in which her beloved University of Kentucky Wildcats were playing and won, the actress penned a powerful essay about violence against women, in which she talks about her personal experience with rape and incest.

Ashley Judd entitled the essay, Forget Your Team: Your Online Violence Toward Girls and Women Is What Can Kiss My Ass. She felt compelled to write the essay after she tweeted a post criticizing the U.K.’s opponent in the game, Arkansas, and subsequently received a barrage of graphic tweets in response.

Please note the language in Judd’s essay is graphic and may offend some.

In the essay, Ashley Judd writes:

“Tweets rolled in, calling me a c-t, a whore or a bitch, or telling me to suck a two-inch d-k. Some even threatened rape, or ‘anal anal anal.’

“I deleted my original tweet after the game, before all hell broke loose, to make amends for any genuine offense I may have committed by describing play as ‘dirty.’ (Of course, other people, including my uncle who is a chaplain, also expressed fear that the athletes would be hurt badly. But my uncle wasn’t told he was a smelly p–y. He wasn’t spared because of his profession; being a male sports fan is his immunity from abuse.)…”, she wrote.

“What happened to me is the devastating social norm experienced by millions of girls and women on the Internet. Online harassers use the slightest excuse (or no excuse at all) to dismember our personhood. My tweet was simply the convenient delivery system for a rage toward women that lurks perpetually. I know this experience is universal, though I’ll describe specifically what happened to me.

“I read in vivid language the various ways, humiliating and violent, in which my genitals, vaginal and anal, should be violated, shamed, exploited and dominated. Either the writer was going to do these things to me, or they were what I deserved. My intellect was insulted: I was called stupid, an idiot. My age, appearance and body were attacked. Even my family was thrown into the mix: Someone wrote that my ‘grandmother is creepy…’

“I am a survivor of sexual assault, rape and incest. I am greatly blessed that in 2006, other thriving survivors introduced me to recovery. I seized it. My own willingness, partnered with a simple kit of tools, has empowered me to take the essential odyssey from undefended and vulnerable victim to empowered survivor. Today, nine years into my recovery, I can go farther and say my ‘story” is not ‘my story.’ It is something a Higher Power (spirituality, for me, has been vital in this healing) uses to allow me the grace and privilege of helping others who are still hurting, and perhaps to offer a piece of education, awareness and action to our world,” Ashley Judd concluded.

  • Kathie Lee Gifford, Matt Lauer Lock Lips For Twizzler Challenge

Kathie Lee Gifford and Matt Lauer shared a sweet on-air kiss Tuesday while carrying out the Twizzler Challenge on the Today show.

Kathie Lee Gifford locked lips with co-host Matt Lauer after the twosome nibbled opposite ends of the red licorice candy until their lips met for the Twizzler Challenge, is a campaign to raise funds for autism awareness and related programs.

The challenge involves two people nibbling the ends of the red licorice wand until lips meet, much like the spaghetti scene in the Disney film Lady and the Tramp.

Kathie Lee Gifford and Matt Lauer were not the first Today show hosts to lock lips for the charity. Last week, Meredith Vieira completed the challenge with Today co-anchor Willie Geist last week, and then challenged Gifford and Lauer to do the same on Tuesday’s episode.

Willie Geist and Uzo Aduba of Orange is the New Black inspired the campaign by sharing a similar kiss at the Night of Too Many Stars fundraiser in February.

Kathie Lee Gifford and her partner in the challenge, Matt Lauer, nominated Regis Philbin and Hoda Kotb to complete the challenge for autism.

All donations for the challenge goes to the New York Collaborates for Autism, which has raised over $18 million for autism programs since 2006.

  • Jennifer Garner’s Love For Her Mom and Sisters Brings Her to Tears

Jennifer Garner was brought to tears Wednesday when speaking about her family during an emotional appearance on the Today show.

The love Jennifer Garner feels for her mom, Patricia, and sisters Melissa and Susannah was touchingly apparent after a photo Savannah Guthrie shared from a recent Southern Living photo shoot brought the Danny Collins actress to tears.

“There’s just nothing like sharing the spotlight or anything else with your sisters and your mom,” Garner said as she began to tear up and slow her speech. “It’s always fun for me to get my sisters dolled up and my mom… I can’t even take it, Today show is too tough for me.”

Savannah Guthrie saved the day by changing the subject, but her tears returned when Matt Lauer took a moment to praise the actress for her emotional honesty.

“We just put Jennifer on the list of best guests ever… Fantastic, she’s unbelievable,” said Lauer.

Jennifer Garner, who is the middle daughter of Patricia and Bill Garner, didn’t specify her mother’s medical condition.

Jennifer Garner explained the importance of her relationship with her sisters in the Southern Living interview.

“Being the middle sister of these three girls is the relationship that defines me more than anything else. More than being my kids’ mother, more than being my husband’s wife, I’m first and foremost the middle Garner girl,” she said.

  • Jessica Alba Chops Off Her Hair and Rocks a New, Flirty Bob

Jessica Alba has boldly chopped off her hair and is now rocking a flirty, new bob.

Very few A-list female stars actually take the plunge and the scissors, so to speak, to their signature long hair, but Jessica Alba looks like she is pretty darn pleased with herself after posting a pic with a tongue-in-cheek caption, “Uh oh!”

The actress is known for her honey-toned brown locks and it’s truly difficult to imaging what she would look like before actually having a gander at her Instagram post.

The post was also a pitch for her brand, The Honest Company, at an event.

Surprisingly, Jessica Alba didn’t gently work her way into the look by cutting off bit by bit over time. Oh no. She went for it and looks pretty adorable with the chin-grazing locks.

Emma Watson, who has been cast as Belle in the live-action movie version of Beauty and the Beast, is thrilled about the part. However, there is one aspect of the gig that freaks her out just a bit.

“I sing, so that’s really unexpected,” Emma Watson told Total Film. “I’ve never had to do that for a film before, and I think people will be interested to see me do something very different like that.”

Watson added, “It gives me a different challenge, really. That’s terrifying in and of itself!”

Emma Watson will join Dan Stevens of Downton Abbey fame, who will play the Beast, and Luke Evans, who will play Gaston.

In a January Facebook post announcing the role, Emma Watson said the Disney film “was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I’ll get to dance to Be Our Guest and sing Something There.”

In preparation for the singing, the actress made it clear that she would be taking singing lessons before production begins.

Although Emma Watson is a household name, she has yet to take the leading role in a major Hollywood production. However, after co-starring roles in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Bling Ring, Noah and This Is the End, Watson feels she is up to the task.

  • Selena Gomez Cruelly Mocked at Justin Bieber Comedy Central Roast

Selena Gomez was the brunt of quite a few cruel jokes Saturday during the taping of the Comedy Central roast of pop star Justin Bieber.

Justin Bieber’s ex was not the subject of the roast per se, but she seems to be the one garnering the biggest headlines.

The Inquisitr reports the roast of Justin Bieber was a long time in the making and Kent Altman, president of Content Development and Original Programing at Comedy Central, said in a press release that they are thrilled that the Biebs just keeps delivering material.

“Justin has been asking us for a few years to roast him, and we just kept telling him to go create more source material first. We’re thrilled he listened,” he said.

And although the 21-year-old star wanted to be the subject of a roast, he may not have been prepared for the no-holds-barred bashing that came from his on-again, off-again relationship with Selena Gomez.

A few of the more toasty roasts focusing on Gomez include:

“You’re about to get f**ked harder than Orlando Bloom f**ked Selena Gomez.”

“Selena Gomez wanted to be here but she’s dating men now. Is it true you dumped her because she grew a mustache before you? Selena Gomez had sex with [you]… proving Mexicans will do the disgusting jobs Americans just won’t do.”

During his much-anticipated “rebuttal” speech, Justin Bieber fell right in line with the comedians in making fun of Selena Gomez.

“One more thing before I go. There’s someone in my life that I owe a special apology to. I’m talking about someone that I really loved and lost because I screwed it all up. But, thankfully, that special someone, the love of my life, is here tonight. I just want a second chance, so if you could come on out,” Bieber began.

Of course, the audience waited in anticipation for Selena Gomez to take the stage, but instead, Bieber’s pet monkey joined him on stage.

  • Shailene Woodley: Why the ‘Divergent’ Actress Almost Said No to the Role of Tris

Shailene Woodley has become a household name thanks to starring roles in movies like The Descendants and The Divergent Series: Insurgent. However, the 23-year-old actress says she originally turned down the role of Tris.

The The Fault in our Stars actress told The Guardian she had misgivings about committing to a multi-film movie franchise.

“I was a little trepidatious saying yes to a franchise, simply because I’d just come off a television show (The Secret Life of the American Teenager) where I had a six-year contract,” Woodley said. “So the thought of signing another four-year contract was quite daunting.”

The award-winning actress, whose breakout role in The Descendent garnered her significant recognition, said she was content performing in lesser-known Indie films and never dreamed of becoming an A-list celebrity.

“Also I had said, growing up as a child actor, that I’d never be a part of a big studio franchise, because I never wanted that sort of recognition around the globe,” Woodley admitted. “I liked doing smaller roles and I really just love acting because I like being on a movie set and that’s it. So I definitely had my doubts, but having said yes, I wouldn’t change it for the world.”

After seeking advice from trusted friends and family, particularly mom Lori, Shailene Woodley ultimately agreed to bring the world the screen version of Tris, the beloved character based on the Divergent series of books.

“I asked advice from a lot of people I respected and ultimately my mom said, ‘Well, Shai, you’re about to say no to this opportunity because of the budget on the film. If this was an independent film, would you say yes?’” remembered Woodley. “And I thought I would say yes, because I love Tris and I do love the storyline and the themes involved within this particular book.”

Divergent went on to make more than $150 million in box office receipts and catapulted Woodley into the realm of megastar.

While the film has changed her life in many ways, Shailene Woodley said her fears about committing to the franchise were unfounded.

“The fear was loss of anonymity in a way, but I really haven’t lost much of my anonymity,” said Woodley. “I can still live the life I’ve been living. I’m busier, but I would love to continue exploring and living this nomadic lifestyle.”

The Divergent Series: Insurgent is scheduled to be released on March 20.

  • Lindsay Lohan Blasted For Altering Her Booty in an Instagram Pic

The troubled actress is seen posing next to a door and wearing a black leotard, with the caption, “My feet look red lol- had to take that out. Only real red is my hair.”

Little attention was paid to her feet, however. Instead, followers began responding to the warped door and her backside, which seemed to indicate alteration of the photo.

“Lol you photoshopped your butt,” one commenter said, as reported by The Age Australia.

“Lindsay, you are horrible at photoshop. Just stop it already,” another said.

Lindsay Lohan seems to have a penchant for altering photos for social media.

For whatever reason, Lindsay Lohan tweeted a picture of Kanye West performing at Paris Fashion Week with the caption, “#kanye&kimAlldayni..a$”.

Lohan deleted the tweet and later apologized, saying she didn’t mean to offend anyone.

A spokesperson for Lohan told the Daily Mail she was refering to one of Kanye’s songs.

“She is a friend of his; it is his new song; her intention was not to offend anyone and she apologises.”

And he’s proven to me that he’s worth forgiving and fighting for… He was at the wrong place at the wrong time, and unfortunate things took place. He’s very gullible and naive.”

At the time, Baskett told Us that he would do whatever it took to make his marriage work.

“I will spend my life trying to get Kendra to trust me again,” said Baskett. “Our relationship is still day-to-day. I’m still working on regaining Kendra’s trust.”

  • Nina Pham, the Nurse Who Survived Ebola, Says She ‘Had No Choice’ But to Sue Hospital

Nina Pham, the first person to ever contract Ebola in the United States, says she “had no choice” but to sue the hospital where she contracted the virus.

Nina Pham — who is a nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas and contracted the disease while treating Thomas Eric Duncan, who was sent home initially after displaying signs of the Ebola virus and later died — filed a lawsuit March 4 against the hospital’s parent company, Texas Health Resources, saying she was “a symbol of corporate neglect — a casualty of a hospital system’s failure to prepare for a known and impending medical crisis.”

The documents claim THR didn’t heed Ebola warnings and its chief medical officer “made numerous patently false statements to Congress.” The documents further claim the company “wholly failed to ensure that appropriate polices, procedures, and equipment were in place,” which put staff like Nina Pham at risk.

“I was hoping that THR would be more open and honest about everything that happened at the hospital, and the things they didn’t do that led to me getting infected with Ebola,” Pham said in a statement. “But that didn’t happen and I felt I was left with no choice but to turn to the courts for help.”

The lawsuit claims medical staff were improperly trained for the Ebola virus.

“In a cruel twist, after watching Mr. Duncan go through the horrific and painful course of the disease as she desperately tried to save his life, Nina herself was diagnosed with Ebola just two days after Mr. Duncan’s life was taken by it,” the lawsuit states.

The lawsuit also accuses the hospital of neglect by discharging Thomas Eric Duncan after he sought treatment initially.

“Had THR heeded the CDC and other warnings and ensured its hospitals were ready for Ebola, Mr. Duncan would have had the best opportunity to possibly survive,” it says.

Nina Pham claims she has lasting trauma as a result of the ordeal.

“The fact is, I’m facing a number of issues with regard to my health and my career and the lawsuit provides a way to address them,” Pham said in her statement. “But more importantly, it will help uncover the truth of what happened, and educate all health care providers and administrators about ways to be better prepared for the next public health emergency.

“I particularly want to express my continued sympathy to the family of Mr. Duncan, as it was my privilege to care for him. I also want to acknowledge my fellow nurses, and the many friends, family and strangers for their ongoing concern and support.”

  • Leonard Nimoy Remembered in Poignant Tribute by ‘Big Bang Theory’

Leonard Nimoy has been remembered since his death last week by celebrities, by Trekkies and by fans alike. However, one of the most poignant homages came from the CBS show The Big Bang Theory.

Thursday night’s episode ended with a black-and-white portrait of Nimoy with the words, “The impact you had on our show and on our lives is everlasting.”

Leonard Nimoy and his character, Mr. Spock, were in a way secondary “characters” on The Big Bang Theory with the number of references on them throughout the series.

Sheldon, played by Jim Parsons, has a real connection with Leonard Nimoy. In one particular episode, Sheldon receives a gift of a lifetime — well, his anyway — a napkin used by the Star Trek actor.

“I possess the DNA of Leonard Nimoy?!” Sheldon exclaims in the episode.

Leonard Nimoy even made a cameo on the show during its fifth season.

  • Eddie Cibrian Blasted By LeAnn Rimes’ Ex-Husband Dean Sheremet, Who Reveals Details About Affair

Eddie Cibrian took a bashing from wife LeAnn Rimes’ ex-husband, Dean Sheremet, who said he was completely blindsided by their affair.

Sheremet was married to LeAnn Rimes for seven years before divorcing in 2009, after he found out his wife was having an affair with then-married Eddie Cibrian.

In an interview with Nat’s Next Adventure, the former backup dancer spilled his guts on the affair and the aftermath.

Sheremet said things were already on shaky ground before the affair commenced.

“I felt like I was never having my needs met so there was fighting,” he said. “And I was so intertwined in managing her career that I didn’t know how to make the distinction between husband and boss, husband and partner, husband and manager… I was husband, father, friend, lover, manager. There were so many hats and I didn’t know what hat to wear when.”

Unfortunately, I think the business ended up destroying us,” he said. “That passion for our marriage wasn’t there. The person that I needed to be, the person I should have been, I wasn’t. I wasn’t the person she came home to and unloaded on. And, then, of course, I was thinking, I haven’t done what I’ve wanted to do in over eight years.”

Because of his role in LeAnn Rimes‘ life, he said he never expected her to stray.

“Never in a million years did I think something like that would have happened,” he said. “The need for me in her life was so strong. There were things she couldn’t do without me. She had her own phone but never used it. People would call me to get to her. Everything went through me.”

Although Sheremet said he thought Eddie Cibrian was a “good looking guy” and “charming,” he never felt threatened.

“I just remember being like, ‘Oh, God, just another one of those Hollywood pretty boys,’” he remembered. “If you’re in a room with him, he’s probably one of the most charming people you’ll ever meet. But I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw this f**king table. He just felt like one of those guys from the beginning. A total schmoozer. Very Hollywood. I never bought his shtick. But I wasn’t worried.”

Sheremet shared the exact moment when he realized the two were intimate.

“There was this bar that everyone hung out at after set and I remember coming down the stairs and seeing the two of them shooting pool together,” he recalls. “I could just tell by the body language that everything had changed. She’s shooting pool, shooting tequila, in a tight tank, tight jeans, over the knee boots and she’s standing across from him, playing with the pool cue. All of a sudden, there was a huge shift. My stomach dropped. I literally felt like I got hit.”

“I totally felt foolish,” he conceded. “I felt like this pathetic husband hanging around. I was very aware of how others were looking at me. … I was like, ‘Why am I here? I don’t need to be babysitting someone on set.’ Even though in my brain, I was like, ‘I’m seeing this happening, I should be here and do something.’ But I wasn’t going to be able to stop anything that happened. And I wasn’t doing anyone any good.”

Sheremet said the backlash for his ex has been long-lasting.

“The dumbest thing she ever did for her career was divorce me, because we were such a good team. The last hit song she had was when she was with me,” he said.
