  • Ben Affleck Finally Responds to Jennifer Garner’s ‘Vanity Fair’ Interview

Ben Affleck has broken his silence over the emotional, tell-all Vanity Fair cover story about his estranged wife Jennifer Garner.

According to the New York Times, Affleck was initially reluctant to discuss the end of his marriage “for the sake of his three children” because “it ends up being in the record somewhere, in the great miasma of junk on the Internet.”

In the end, the 43-year-old Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor, decided to share a few details to the paper — and they were incredibly generous to his ex.

“Jen’s great. She’s a great person,” said Affleck. “We’re on great terms. I just saw her this morning, so that’s the reality that I live in.”

Affleck said he knew about the Vanity Fair article before it came out.

“She felt like she wanted to discuss it and get it out there and get it over with,” the actor recalled. “So she could say, ‘Look, I already talked about it — I don’t want to do it again.’”

In the magazine’s March 2016 cover story, Garner shared many details about her 2015 split from Affleck, including the now-infamous nanny scandal and the strain alleged infidelity had on their marriage. But, she also noted that she married the man and not the image.

“I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married him,” the Miracles From Heaven actress said. “And I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can’t have these three babies and so much of what we had. He’s the love of my life. What am I going to do about that? He’s the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He’s just a complicated guy. I always say, ‘When his sun shines on you, you feel it.’ But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow.”

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were married for 10 years and are the parents of three children — Violet, 10, Seraphina, seven, and Samuel, four.

  • John Goodman On His Impressive Weight Loss

    John Goodman is looking fantastic.

In a recent interview with ABC News, the 63-year-old 10 Cloverfield Lane actor shared his weight loss secret.

“I just stopped eating all the time,” said Goodman. “I’d have a handful of food and it’d go to my mouth. I was just eating all the time. I was just eating alcoholically. In the old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a 6-pack of bud or whatever and just go back to my old habits. Then this time I wanted to do it slowly, move, exercise. I’m getting to the age where I can’t afford to sit still anymore. And it gives me the energy to work, ‘cause work is very draining.”

Goodman said vanity was a driving force behind the change in lifestyle.

“I just got tired, sick and tired of looking at myself. You’re shaving in the mirror and you don’t want to look at yourself. It gets dangerous,” Goodman said.

Likening his eating habits to the battle many feel over the bottle or drugs, Goodman said he needed to reveal the root cause of his need to eat to feel whole.

“I think you’re trying to fill a hole that can’t be filled unless it’s filled with goodness, some kind of spirituality, not saying religion,” he said. “But just a belief in something higher than yourself, a purpose. But instead of filling it with booze or cocaine or food, you just acknowledge that it’s there. You can’t fill it. And you go on and live with it.”

Goodman’s film, 10 Cloverfield Lane, opened in theaters on Friday and he has received a slew of positive reviews for his performance in the thriller.

  • Ben Affleck Talks Robin’s Surprising Fate in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’

Ben Affleck has opened up about the disturbing fate of Robin in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is finally hitting theaters March 25.

Warning: there are some spoilers coming up in this article.

Ahead of the release, Affleck confirmed reports that Batman’s trusted sidekick Robin has died in the Gotham/Metropolis envisioned by director Zack Snyder and writer Chris Terrio.

Affleck told Entertainment Weekly that Batman is in mourning and “…bitterly disappointed…that he’s lost this guy who fought by his side. That character’s death must have been devastating to him, and he’s suffered. We get the sense that he’s suffered a lot of devastating losses before this movie even starts.”

That would explain Batman’s salt-and-pepper-haired, world-weary look in trailers for the film. Apparently, our favorite caped crusader is disillusioned and much more cynical than he has been in the past, much of it owing to all the character has been through, including the loss of his sidekick.

In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Batman goes up against the Son of Krypton (Henry Cavill returning as Superman), to partake in “the greatest gladiator match in the history of the world.”

The plot — and the death of Robin — parallels the Frank Miller’s 1986 graphic novel miniseries, The Dark Night Returns, which Snyder has said would be a major factor in his follow-up to 2013’s Man of Steel.

After two and a half years since Affleck was controversially cast as Batman, fans will finally get to see Affleck in action very soon.

What do you think? Will Affleck live up to the Batmen of the past?

  • Alaska Airlines Delays Flight So Passengers Could See Solar Eclipse From 35,000 Feet And The Results Are Stunning

Alaska Airlines Delays Flight So Passengers Could See Solar Eclipse From 35,000 Feet And The Results Are Stunning

Alaska Airlines deliberately delayed a flight from Anchorage to Honolulu Tuesday so passengers could see a solar eclipse from 35,000 feet.

On Saturday, Alaska Airlines shared video of the solar eclipse as seen from Flight 870 and the images are truly stunning.

According to CBS6, the flight departed Anchorage on Tuesday around 2 p.m. local time, with the eclipse peaking around 4:38 p.m. local time.

It was over a year ago that Joe Rao, an associate astronomer at the American Museum of Natural History, determined that the Alaska Airlines flight would intersect the “path of totality” during the solar eclipse.

He along with others convinced the airlines to depart a bit later than scheduled to have the best possible view of the spectacular eclipse. The plane left 25 minutes after its scheduled departure.

Needless to say, Rao and a dozen other “eclipse chasers” were on Tuesday’s flight to catch a view of an eclipse in pristine circumstances.

Alaska Airlines also changed its flight path to allow for prime viewing of the event, the company wrote on their official blog.

“It’s an unbelievably accommodating gesture,” said Mike Kentrianakis, solar eclipse project manager for the American Astronomical Society, before boarding the flight. “Not only is Alaska Airlines getting people from Point A to Point B, but they’re willing to give them an exciting flight experience. An airline that’s actually talking to their people – and listening! That’s customer service at its best. It’s become personal.”

Video of the event was shot by Mike Kentrianakis of the American Astronomical Society.

  • Liam Payne and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini Find Comfort In Each Other Over Recent Struggles

Liam Payne and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini have apparently found some comfort in each other as they continue to go through individual struggles.

Their bond seems to be tight and Britains’s hottest new couple has been seen in a slew of public outings together, including popping into a supermarket and heading to a London casino.

The couple has also been posting photos to their individual social media accounts that indicate that love is in the air.

There has been some backlash, however, with naysayers believing that the romance is merely a publicity stunt.

Sources told Britain’s Grazia magazine that despite what some might think Cheryl, who recently split from her husband of less than two years Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, and Liam are the real deal.

“The affection between them is genuine and they’ve definitely been bonded by their recent struggles,” said a source. “Cheryl’s still reeling after everything with JB, and Liam was a lot more affected by the pressures of being in 1D than people realized.”

Cheryl, 32, reportedly sees the new romance as a way to get over her painful divorce.

“Cheryl hates being painted as a victim. Both she and Liam are excited to see where it goes,” said the source.

The couple seem to have much in common. Like Liam and his band One Direction, Cheryl also found fame on a singing reality TV contest as one of the winners on British series Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.

According to reports, Liam apparently thinks the new couple has what it takes to become a brand like Victoria and David Beckham.

With that in mind, Liam has reportedly asked David Beckhams’s PR manager Simon Oliveira to take him on as a client.

“Liam is hoping that Cheryl and he could be the next Posh and Becks, and he’s already secured Cheryl as his date to Oliveira’s wedding in July,” the source said.

  • Mike Myers’ White Locks At State Dinner Causes Stir On Social Media

Mike Myers appeared at the White House state dinner on Thursday sporting a head of silver white hair and it has caused quite the stir on social media.

Us Weekly reports the Austin Powers actor dropped in at the state dinner held for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and shocked everyone with his white locks.

It may be that the 52-year-old actor is sporting the new look for a movie role or it may be that his age is catching up with him. Whatever the reason, his surprise makeover stirred things up on the internet.

Gossip Cop reported that Myers dyed his hair “for fun.”

Fans couldn’t help but share their shock over his updated look via Twitter.

While some users loved the mature, silver-fox look Myers is presenting, others weren’t quite as sure about the new look and longed for a return to the Shrek star’s recognizable chestnut-brown hair.

  • Melissa McCarthy Dishes On Redefining Beauty

Melissa McCarthy is on fire, with two major film releases already set to come out this year.

The 45-year-old actress is also a fashion designer and is working to redefine what constitutes beauty.

“With women, there’s this constant weird cultural thing where we’re always supposed to be comparing ourselves with one another — ‘who wore it best? Whose butt is better?’” the “Ghostbusters” star told Redbook magazine. “Instead, how about if everyone wins?”

“When we told her that we were taking the label ‘plus’ off of clothing in our issue, her response was ‘Oh my God, that’s amazing!’” said Meredith Rollins, Redbook’s editor-in-chief. “Let’s let readers know that it comes in their size, but why label them?”

McCarthy, who recently launched her own line of clothing, said beauty comes from a sense of confidence.

“When I feel good about my clothes, I look at the world a little differently,” she told Redbook. “A little bit of joy goes a long way.”

McCarthy is very outspoken about body-shamming and feeling comfortable within one’s own skin. She shares that conviction with her daughter and says she will defend her girl like a rabid dog if need by.

“Give me your best punch in the face, and I’ll take that punch, rather than have my kid feel bad about herself…,” said the I Spy actress. “There’s an epidemic in our country of girls and women feeling bad about themselves based on what .5% of the human race looks like. It starts very young. My message is that as long as everybody’s healthy, enjoy and embrace whatever body type you have.”

  • Katt Williams Accused of Threatening to Kill Bodyguard

Katt Williams was released on $60,000 bond after a hearing Wednesday.

Williams, 44, is accused of threatening to kill his bodyguard during an attack inside his Georgia home.

According to ABC News, the judge reportedly told Williams to stay away from the bodyguard and his family, and to lay off drugs and alcohol.

Williams faces charges of terroristic threats, false imprisonment, aggravated assault and possession of marijuana.

A statement from the Hall County Sheriff’s Department alleges that Williams made a threat to the bodyguard on Feb. 28, while friend Tatiana Smith, 24, beat the bodyguard with a baseball bat and choked him. The altercation reportedly arose when the bodyguard refused to engage in criminal activity, although authorities didn’t say what that activity was.

A day after the alleged incident with the bodyguard, Williams was accused of attacking an employee at a swimming pool supply store during an argument.

Williams’ attorney Drew Findling said the arrest came more than a week after the alleged assault and is indicative of the uncertainty surrounding the case.

“I think when it takes nine days to make a determination, that says something about the quality of the case,” he said.

He also questioned how the bodyguard could be overpowered by a 90-pound woman swinging a souvenir baseball bat.

Williams was taken into custody Tuesday evening, after deputies searched his home about 90 miles from Atlanta and found large amounts of marijuana, along with several firearms inside the home.

Smith and another woman also face charges. Smith is charged with aggravated assault and possession of marijuana and an anti-anxiety drug.

Lena Smith, 40, is charged with marijuana possession.

  • Padma Lakshmi Opens Up About Daughter’s Father, Divorce From Salman Rushdie

Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi has revealed that there was a time when she didn’t know the identity of her daughter’s father.

In an interview with the Today show, Lakshmi, 45, opened up about her new memoir, Love, Loss and What We Ate, which details secrets about her 2007 divorce from Salman Rushdie and the paternity of her little girl, 6-year-old Krishna.

Lakshmi spoke frankly with Lauer about her decision to date two guys after the end of her marriage to Rushdie.

“It probably wasn’t the best choice, but it was the choice that I made at the time,” she told Lauer. “I didn’t want to be in a serious relationship. I was still really hurting from my divorce. I probably shouldn’t have been with anybody and just taken the time I needed for myself. But I was presented with two very different, very interesting men. Men do it all the time. I chose to do it, and I was open with the men involved. I’m going to own my history.”

In her memoir, Lakshmi details late billionaire Teddy Forstmann’s reaction to discovering that he was not the father of little Krishna, who was instead fathered by Adam Dell, the brother of Dell Computer founder Michael Dell.

People magazine reports that when Lakshmi told Forstmann the truth, his reaction was volatile.

“I saw his face go white, then beet red,” she wrote in the memoir. “It was as if the room could not contain him, or as if his body could not contain his fury at the information he had just received.”

Despite the shocking news, Forstmann decided to remain by Lakshmi’s side and even left part of his fortune in his will for baby Krishna when he passed away in November 2011.

When she wrote the memoir, Lakshmi decided to dedicate it to Forstman.

“He wasn’t going to leave my side,” Lakshmi writes in the memoir. “Maybe he didn’t know if he could stay in a romantic relationship with me or not. I think neither of us knew what was going to happen, but he was resolute in making sure I wasn’t alone. He held my hand and he held it very publicly.”

  • Kate Middleton and Husband Prince William Tackle The Difficult Topic Of Suicide

Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William visited the St. Thomas’ Hospital in London on Thursday to take on the difficult issue of suicide.

According to Hello magazine, the Duchesse of Cambridge arrived at the hospital looking as beautiful and chic as ever, wearing a smart green Erdem coat and her hair down in loose waves.

During their visit, the royal couple learned about the work being done at the hospital to prevent suicide and to support those who have been bereaved by suicide.

The couple had the opportunity to meet Jonny Benjamin, a man who was saved by a stranger when he tried to take his own life in 2008 when he was 20. Years later, Benjamin launched the Find Mike campaign to find the man who saved him and, as a result, was reunited with Neil Laybourn.

Benjamin, who is now a mental health advocate, thanked Kate and the prince for their efforts in tackling the issue.

Later in the afternoon, Prince William and Kate will join about 20 school children in attending a screening of a documentary Stranger on the Bridge, which chronicles Benjamins’s story, which will be followed by a private discussion between William and Kate and a group of people who have lost loved ones to suicide.

“The Duke and Duchess and Prince Harry are making mental health a major focus of their work in the year ahead,” said a Palace spokesperson. “The Duke of Cambridge is particularly keen to better understand the difficult issues around suicide, bullying, and the mental health of young men.

TMZ reports that Indio appeared in court with the 50-year-old Iron Man actor by his side.

Indio was arrested in June 2014 after police, who observed him smoking a pipe of while driving in West Hollywood, pulled him over.

    The dismissal clears Downey’s record.

Just two months ago, California Governor Jerry Brown pardoned Indio’s dad for his drug convictions.

Entertainment Tonight reported back in June 2014 that Robert Downey Jr. expressed his concerns that Indio had inherited his potential for drug addiction.

“Unfortunately there’s a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it,” said Downey Jr. “Also, there is a lot of family support and understanding, and we’re all determined to rally behind him and help him become the man he’s capable of being. We’re grateful to the Sheriff’s Department for their intervention, and believe Indio can be another recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale.”

  • Willow Smith, Daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Has Been Named the New Face of Chanel

Willow Smith — the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith — has been named as the new face of fashion label Chanel.

The news came during Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2016 show in Paris on Tuesday.

“The young singer, songwriter, actress and trendsetter has been wearing CHANEL for public appearances since 2013 and her first encounter with Karl Lagerfeld was in 2014 when he photographed her for the American magazine V. She was notably present at the CHANEL Fall-Winter 2016/17 Ready-to-Wear show presented this morning at the Grand Palais,” said the fashion house in a statement.

Willow, 15, also shared the big news via her Instagram account.

“I feel like there is so much creativity going on that I want to inject some of my ideas and some of my energy into the brand,” Smith told Teen Vogue backstage at the fashion show. “Because I feel like there’s a lot of things that come from youth nowadays that need to be expressed and amplified to the world.”

Willow’s brother, Jaden Smith, is another couture model in the family.

In a surprise twist, Jaden actually modeled womenswear for Louis Vuitton’s “Series 4” spring-summer 2016 collection advertising campaign.

Nicolas Ghesquière, creative director of the house of Louis Vuitton, said the label wanted Jaden to model for that particular campaign because he “represents a generation that has assimilated the codes of true freedom, one that is free of manifestos and questions about gender…Wearing a skirt comes as naturally to him as it would to a woman who, long ago, granted herself permission to wear a man’s trench or a tuxedo.”

  • Leonardo DiCaprio’s Stepbrother On The Run After Missing Court Appearance For Theft

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Stepbrother On The Run After Missing Court Appearance For Theft

Leonardo DiCaprio’s stepbrother is considered on the run after he failed to show up for a court appearance.

According to International Business Times, police have launched a manhunt for 44-year-old Adam Farrar.

A former actor from Hollywood, Califirnia, DeCaprio’s stepbrother has had a history with drug addiction and was arrested in January with his partner Charity Moore for allegedly trying to steal good worth $990.

Police officers issued a warrant for his arrest and their bail has been set at $3,000 for when they are caught.

A family source said that Farrar, whose mother Peggy married Leo’s father when he was one, would soon find himself back in jail if he continues to run away from responsibilities.

“He’s struggled before with drugs and although he makes promises to get clean, he gets caught up in something else,” a source told the The Sun. “Leo is sympathetic but this is the latest in a long line of offenses and he’s at the end of his tether. He got fed up with Adam asking to borrow money and not paying it back. No one knows where Adam and Charity have gone.”

After appearing in commercials, Farrar began starring in a string of movie and TV shows in the 1980s. He is best known for his roles in the 1980s science fiction series Battlestar Galactica and the ABC comedy-drama Eight is Enough.

Leonardo DiCaprio took home the best actor award last week for his leading role in survival drama, The Revenant. The Sun also reports that Farrar helped inspire DiCaprio to venture into acting himself.

  • Nicole Brown Simpson As Remembered By Her Friend Kris Jenner

Nicole Simpson Brown continues to haunt the thoughts of her friend Kris Jenner more than 20 years after her brutal murder.

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on Monday, Kris Jenner said she’ll “always feel horrible that I didn’t pay enough attention” before Nicole met her untimely death.

Jenner, who was close friends with both Nicole and O.J. Simpson, revealed new details about what happened in her world after Brown’s death.

Jenner was famously married to Robert Kardashian Sr. who was one of O.J.’s closest friends and became one of the accused killer’s legal dream team.

The relationship between the four friends is chronicled in the FX miniseries American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, which tells the story surrounding the “trial of the century” from the lawyers point of view.

Jenner, 60, told DeGeneres that the portrayal of tension between Kris and Robert over his commitment to defend O.J. on the series is accurate.

“It was very difficult because my ex-husband was on one side and I was kind of on the other, and the kids were in the middle,” said Jenner.

Kris said she’d actually made plans with Brown to go on a lunch date the day after her death and believes that Nicole Brown had plans to reveal to her that Simpson was abusing her.

“I didn’t know that there was abuse until we heard and saw the whole thing unfold like everyone else, and then heard the 911 tapes…which were going to be used as evidence during the trial,” Jenner said. “Me and some of her other close friends all were really surprised and shocked by that, because we felt like we really failed her as a friend.

“She and I were supposed to have lunch the next day-the day after she was murdered-and she said she wanted to show me some things and talk about what was in her safe,” Jenner continued.

“Now, unfortunately, it all makes sense that that’s probably what she wanted to reveal to me that next day, which broke my heart because I’ll always feel horrible that I didn’t pay enough attention.”

Kris Jenner, 60, said she had known Simpson since she was 17 and considered him to be “like a big brother” to her.

According to Kris, Simpson attempted to contact her after Brown’s death but the reality star did not give specifics on any conversation they may have had.

“[He called me] right after, yeah,” Jenner said. “He called me a few times, and you know, wanted to talk and explain how he felt.”

American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson airs 10 p.m. EST Tuesdays on FX.

  • Amy Winehouse’s Father Slams Oscar-Winning Documentary About His Daughter

Amy Winehouse’s father has bashed the Oscar-winning documentary directed by Asif Kapadia about the troubled singer, calling the film a a “negative, spiteful, misleading portrayal” of his daughter’s life.

Amy was named Best Documentary Feature at Sunday’s Oscars ceremony, but the late singer’s father was not too keen to celebrate.

Mitch Winehouse and other family members have been critical of the documentary about Amy Winehouse since its inception. Mitch opened up on Twitter about his feelings on Asif Kapadia’s win following the award ceremony.

“Always proud of my baby. Amy will not get an oscar though,” he wrote on Twitter. “Just Asif Kapadia. That is what this is all about … Asif. He’s fooled everybody.”

“I am not changing my stance just because film won Oscar. It’s a negative, spiteful and misleading portrayal of Amy. We will fix this,” Winehouse continued.

“I am not changing my stance just because film won Oscar. It’s a negative, spiteful and misleading portrayal of Amy. We will fix this.

Amy Winehouse’s family vocalized their disapproval of the film even before it was released a statement, saying that Amy is “both misleading and contains some basic untruths.”

“The narrative is formed by the testimony of a narrow sample of Amy’s associates,” the statement read, “many of whom had nothing to do with her in the last years of her life. Counter views expressed to the filmmakers did not make the final cut.”

Last week, Mitch Winehouse hinted in a tweet that there are other, more realistic projects in the works about his daughter.

“My friends. This film will not be the defining image of Amy,” he wrote on Feb. 21. “We are already working on other projects. I can’t say more at this stage.”
