  • Charlotte Rae of ‘Facts of Life’ Shares Surprising Heartbreaks and Triumphs In New Memoir

Charlotte Rae is best known as the stern Facts of Life girls’ school housemother, Edna Garrett, who helped guide the girls through the highs and lows of being a teen.

Throughout it all, Rae’s character, Mrs. Garrett, was cool as a cucumber. In a new memoir, the 89-year-old actress says she begged the TV show’s producers to let her character “lose her temper, yell at the kids. Let her be a human being.” It didn’t happen.

Rae shared that the show did not imitate life and she bore little resemblance to Edna Garrett. Instead, the challenges she faced in life, including an autistic son, Andy, and the late-in-life disclosure by her husband that he was bisexual and wanted an open marriage, left her a little lost and down a path of alcoholism and heart trouble.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Charlotte Rae said she wanted to write her memoir to others who are tackling their own difficulties and dreams and because her other son, Larry Strauss, a writer and teacher, told her she should.

“He said, ‘Ma, I think it’s time we did your memoir. You talk to me and I’ll do it,’” she said. “He was very sensitive to what I was talking about and wonderful (writing about) his brother, very sensitive and beautiful.”

The book titled The Facts of My Life will be released by BearManor Media on Nov. 1 and begins with the memory of her then 16-year-old son, Andy Strauss, being locked up in the juvenile ward at New York’s Bellevue Hospital because he’d been deemed dangerous. Andy eventually died of a heart attack in his mid-40s and Rae saw his illness as the “most devastating thing” in her life.

Battling alcoholism and heart problems, Rae soon learned that her husband of 25 years was bisexual.

“I felt there was something wrong with me and took it personally,” Rae said. “But I gradually realized what he was going through. My God, the poor guy, hiding it and being ashamed.”

The pair divorced, and John Strauss died in 2011. Her had found “a nice Jewish man of his dreams,” but she has remained single.

“Between the children and my career, I just didn’t have time. It didn’t happen,” Rae said. “There were people I had little flings with that were lovely, but nobody I wanted to marry.”

Life is now calmer for Rae these days. Son Larry, his family and others keep her busy and content, she said.

“I have wonderful friends. I’m not just a lonely old lady,” said Charlotte Rae.

  • Missy Elliot Is Back With New Single, ‘WTF,’ Which Features Pharrell

Missy Elliot is back after more than a decade since she released her last album and eight months since she killed it during Katy Perry’s Super Bowl halftime show.

Fans have been waiting a long time for this moment and the wait was worth the results.

On Monday, Elliott premiered a snippet of WTF, her new single with Pharrell during Monday Night Football, as part of a commercial for the new NBA season.

According to BET, Elliott’s absence from the music world was a hiatus for both personal and health-related reasons. Diagnosed with Graves’ Disease in 2008, Elliott said she was unable to create her best work and so decided to wait for the right moment.

“When I create something, it’s gotta be special and it can’t just be to throw something out there because I feel like I’m Missy,” she said in an interview. “I gotta feel like what I’m giving fans is 100 percent and that it’s game-changing. I don’t just throw out microwave records.”

In the 30-second clip, Missy can be heard rapping over the uptempo beat. Fans can hear more when the song arrives in its entirety on November 13.

Whatever the reasons for her absence, it’s good to have Missy Elliott back!

  • Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton Will Talk About Anything, Except Their Divorces

Gwen Stefani and her The Voice co-coach, Blake Shelton, love to talk up a storm on the set of their successful show. However, one topic is reportedly off limits — their respective divorces from Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert.

According to Hollywood life, it may be that the two are getting cosy together in the wake of heartbreak.

The website says Blake requires a drama-free environment on The Voice set, which translates to no talk of failed marriages.

“Blake doesn’t really bring his divorce talk to her; he tries to make the day on set fun by telling jokes and being a goofball,” a source reportedly told HollywoodLife. “It’s more important for him that everyone is in a good mood. No drama!

“Blake loves talking to Gwen and talking to her about music and everything else, except divorce talk,” the source continued. “Blake doesn’t like talking about divorce because it gets him to think about his divorce, and he wants to move forward instead of backwards.”

Needless to say, the two megastars surely have much they could talk about and it would be natural to rebound with each other, but it’s more likely that Gwen and Blake are just enjoying their time on The Voice and keeping things in the friend zone.

The Voice crew appeared together on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on October 26 to play a rousing round of “Spin the Microphone.”

In the game, Gwen was chosen to sing Hotline Bling and proceeded to perform the song “up close and personal with Blake.”

It’s true there was palpable chemistry going on between Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, but chemistry doesn’t necessarily translate into relationship.

  • Family of Adacia Chambers, the Woman Accused of Crashing Into OSU Crowd, Speaks Out on Victims

Family members of Adacia Chambers, the driver accused of crashing her vehicle into a crowd of OSU Homecoming onlookers, spoke to the media Monday.

Although the members of the family said they have no answers on how the tragedy occurred, they told reporters their hearts go out to the victims.

Adacia Chambers, 25, was arrested after police said she crashed her vehicle into a crowd during the OSU Homecoming Parade, killing four people, including a two-year-old child, and injuring at least 46 others. She is being held on four counts of second-degree murder.

A bond of $1 million was set by a judge for Chambers on Monday.

Chamber’s father, Floyd Chambers, aunt Lynda Branstetter and boyfriend Jesse Gaylord held a news conference Monday afternoon. Floyd Chambers said they are supporters of the school and the community.

Floyd Chambers said Adacia had been held in a mental hospital for a few weeks before being released. When things did not improve, he said he took her to different facility, where she was released again. He said she was kind, caring, loved music and was a wonderful artist.

“Our hearts go out to those victims, and it was a terrible, terrible thing that has happened. I can’t explain it right now. We don’t have all the answers yet,” said Floyd Chambers. “I spent yesterday thinking about, ‘should I send flowers? What should I do?’ The little girl who’s in the hospital in Tulsa… that just broke my heart. The little boy who’s deceased… that just tore my heart out. I can’t fathom losing a child like that. My heart goes out to that family and the people, the married couple and the young lady, it’s just terrible.”

“This is so not her. This is not her character, ” said Branstetter. “We don’t have the answers. We don’t know what happened either. Because the girl I’ve seen Friday night, the girl that was with me and that walked around, was happy, funny, caring, even the friend who I was with she had met for the first time made that same comment.”

Adacia’s boyfriend, Jesse Gaylord, told reporters that she seemed at ease the night before the crash, although she had difficulties sleeping. He said he’s never seen Adacia take any prescription medication and rarely drinks.

Gaylord added that he’s never seen her black out and said she’s a cautious driver.

Adacia Chambers’ attorney Tony Coleman filed paperwork at the court clerk’s office Monday, asking for a mental evaluation for Chambers. Coleman said he did not think Chambers was driving under the influence at the time, but was mentally ill.

  • Tori Kelly Performs Kick-Ass TLC, Fugees, Mary J. Blige Mash-Up At MTV EMA Awards

Tori Kelly killed it Sunday at the 2015 MTV EMA Awards show with a kick-ass mashup of songs made famous by TLS, the Fugees and Mary J. Blige.

Needless to say, the singer can do it all, but she really showcased her incredible skills with her mashup of some of the best talent out there.

Still waters run deep in the breakout singer. after the success from her debut album, Unbreakable Smile, she made it perfectly clear that she has no plans of losing momentum. Her latest single Hollow, which she describes as “honest,” “vulnerable,” and “epic,” was recently released.

As reported by Vibe magazine, the chorus chants, “I’m fragile and you know this/ So hold me, wrap me in love/ Fill up my cup/ Empty, and only your love could fill up my cup/ Because I’m hollow.” While all the lyrics seemingly mean a lot to the singer, Kelly admits that her favorite lyrics are “pour out your perfection on me now.”

  • Maureen O’Hara of ‘The Parent Trap’ and ‘Miracle On 34th Street’ Dies at 95

Maureen O’Hara, best known for her roles in Miracle on 34th Street and The Parent Trap, died Saturday in her sleep in her Boise, Idaho home, her family told the Irish Times.

    She was 95.

“It is with a sad heart that we share the news that Maureen O’Hara passed away today in her sleep of natural causes,” her family said in a statement to the Times.

“Maureen was our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family as they celebrated her life listening to music from her favorite movie, The Quiet Man,” the family said in its statement.

The Dublin-born actress and the second of six children born to Charles and Marguerita FitzSimons was a Hollywood legend and, later in life, a savvy business woman. She was the CEO of Antilles Air Boats, which flew tourists around the Caribbean islands, and was owner and columnist of the Virgin Islander, a monthly tourist magazine that was sold in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.

O’Hara began acting at age 6 and joined the renowned Abbey Theatre by age 14.

By the time she arrived in Hollywood, she had already experienced a stellar career in London. Once in California, the 5’8″ red-headed starlet worked with nearly every big name movie star of the day, including Tyrone Power, Henry Fonda, James Stewart and her great friend John Wayne, with whom she starred in five films, including director John Ford’s 1950 Rio Grande and his enduring 1952 The Quiet Man.

Known as the “Queen of Technicolor,” O’Hara was married to director George Hanley Brown and director William Price, with whom she had her only child, daughter Bronwyn Bridget. It was in 1956 that O’Hara would find her true love, although John Wayne was clearly her ideal man. In 1956, on her first flight back to Ireland since the end of World War II, O’Hara met Charles Blair, an Air Force hero who held a transatlantic flight record.

Married and the father of four at the time, the two became friends until 1967, when he divorced. They married a year later.

Within five years, after making TV’s 1973 The Red Pony, “Maureen gave up everything just to be a good wife,” her brother Charles FitzSimons told People magazine.

Her final performance was in The Last Dance, a 2000 TV movie.

She and her husband then ran Antilles Air Boats from their home in St. Croix, in the Virgin Islands, building it into a 27-plane commercial fleet ranging the upper Caribbean and grossing $5 million a year.

Their dreams were ended in 1978, when Blair was killed after the amphibious aircraft Blair was flying developed engine trouble and crashed in the sea.

O’Hara became the first woman to run a U.S. airline until 1979, when she sold controlling stock to Resorts International, remaining as company president until 1981.

Maureen O’Hara led a long and illustrious life and has reflected many times on her life.

“My first ambition was to be the No. 1 actress in the world,” she said in 1999, according to the Associated Press. “And when the whole world bowed at my feet, I would retire in glory and never do anything again.”

“Her characters were feisty and fearless, just as she was in real life,” the family said in its statement about the actress. “She was also proudly Irish and spent her entire lifetime sharing her heritage and the wonderful culture of the Emerald Isle with the world. As much as Maureen cherished her privacy, she always appreciated the expressions of good will from people around the world and from all walks of life.

“She especially loved it when children recognized her from her role in Miracle on 34th Street and asked her: ‘Are you the lady who knows Santa Claus?’ She always answered: ‘Yes I am. What would you like me to tell him?’”

In 2014, O’Hara was awarded an honorary Academy Award inscribed with, “To Maureen O’Hara, one of Hollywood’s brightest stars, whose inspiring performances glowed with passion, warmth and strength.”

O’Hara will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery, alongside her husband.

“For those who may ask what they can do to honor Maureen,” the family said in its statement about the actress, “we have a simple request: visit Ireland one day and think of her.”

  • Emmy Rossum Lends a Helping Hand to Childhood Friend

Emmy Rossum is a good friend.

According to Page Six, the 29-year-old actress blew into New York City to lend a helping hand to her childhood friend Dorie Golkin Smith.

Emmy Rossum’s friend is co-owner of new Flatiron clothing shop Of Mercer and Rossum made a quick trip to the big city to help her friend get ready for her store’s opening last week.

“[Emmy] painted the walls of the store — the doors — everything that needed finishing,” said a source. “She went methodically through each letter on the sign with a Q-tip to make sure it was neat.”

According to Page Six, the Shameless actress was in NYC for barely 24 hours before heading back to shoot the Showtime series.

It must have been a balm for Rossum’s broken heart to spend some time with her childhood friend.

  • Drew Barrymore Opens Up On ‘Being Under the Cloud’ of Postpartum Depression

Drew Barrymore opened up to People magazine for this week’s cover story about her experience with a common ailment that afflicts many new mothers — postpartum depresssion.

With two young daughters, Olive, three, and Frankie, 18 months, and a husband, art consultant Will Kopelman, 38, Barrymore says her life is “perfect and totally imperfect.”

But like many new mothers, Barrymore says that after the birth of Frankie, she just didn’t feel quite right.

“I didn’t have postpartum the first time so I didn’t understand it because I was like, ‘I feel great!’ The second time, I was like, ‘Oh, whoa, I see what people talk about now. I understand,’” Barrymore recollected. “It’s a different type of overwhelming with the second. I really got under the cloud.”

Drew says with a plethora of projects in the works, including her new memoir, Wildflower, which hits shelves Oct. 27 and her next film, Miss You Already, which hits theaters next month, the 40-year-old actress felt pulled in every direction.

“I just got right on the idea of, where do I need to be the most? Fifty-fifty would be ideal but life doesn’t work like that. Life is messy,” said Barrymore. “It was just really challenging and I felt overwhelmed. I made a lot of decisions and I definitely changed my work life to suit my parenthood.”

Barrymore was one of the lucky ones because her bout with depression was “short-lived, probably six months,” and the actress says she is grateful for the experience, which taught her to always remain present in the moment.

“It’s really important. I was in the kids’ class with Frankie and Olive this morning and I started fretting about some piece of work news that was just stressful,” she said. “You know, in like the Broadway Babies class and it’s the one-hit wonders day, and they’re singing I don’t even know what song, and we’re all doing our lollipop drums and I just thought, ‘Save it until after class.’ One thing at a time.”

The actress told People that it’s important that her daughters see her hard work as a good thing.

“Putting a negative stigma on work is a go-to. It makes us feel like it proves to our children that we don’t want to work, we’d rather be with you,” Drew Barrymore said. “I want them to see that work can be a good, positive, fun, happy thing. I’ve worked since I was 11½ months old so I have to be able to work, too. But I have to put them first. I don’t know if it’s good enough for anyone but I’m doing my best.”

Natalie Portman finally debuted in the first trailer for her role in Jane Got a Gun, which tells the story of a pioneer woman who resorts to seeking the help of her ex-lover to defend her home and family from a gang of bounty hunters.

A troubled production, Jane Got a Gun was originally touted as a Blacklist script from Insurgent writer Brian Duffield to be directed by We Need to Talk About Kevin director Lynne Ramsay and starring Natalie Portman, Michael Fassbender and Joel Edgerton. And then, Warrior director Gavin O’Connor quickly replaced Ramsay and hired Anthony Tambakis to rewrite the script.

The production also suffered several cast changes. According to Entertainment Weekly, Jude Law and Bradley Cooper considered taking on the leading man role.

The international trailer, with Portman, Edgerton and Scottish native Ewan McGregor doing a Southern accent, was released on Wednesday.

  • Sophia Loren Voices Her Disdain For Selfies, Plastic Surgery For Young Starlets

Sophia Loren has no problem in voicing her opinion.

The legendary actress shared her disapproval of selfies and says today’s young celebrities need to beware of too much plastic surgery.

The 81-year-old Oscar-winner shared her opinions Tuesday to Page Six at Cipriani 42nd Street.

“These young girls really need to be more careful and selective of what they are doing to their bodies and their faces,” said Loren. “I mean, you do not know for sure if you are going to a good doctor . . . you can end up looking worse than what you thought you originally were.”

Sophia Loren had very definitive ideas about how an actress should be measured.

“In my time,” Loren added, “an actress’ merit and skill was based on her talent. Now when people meet me, they pull out their phones to take pictures. I do not know much about social media, but it seems that that’s what makes people more famous. My era of Hollywood was much better — you were known for your skill and talent.”

Obviously, the one-time sex symbol longs for a different era.

“I was very lucky to be a part of that time,” added Loren.

Still, the Italian beauty says she will never stop working, and “retirement” is a dirty word in her book.

“That’s terrible, the word retire. Never,” she said. “We start always like it was the beginning of a long career.”

After sharing her viewpoint, Sophia Loren, looking beautiful in Armani, was honored at the Americans for the Arts National Arts Awards with Lady Gaga, Maria Bell and Herbie Hancock.

  • Gwen Stefani Shoots Down Rumors That She Is Dating Blake Shelton

Gwen Stefani is busy coaching on The Voice and is just as busy shutting down a plethora of rumors surrounding the singer following her split from Gavin Rossdale. And one of those rumors she is shutting down is persistent claims that she is dating her Voice costar Blake Shelton.

Entertainment Weekly exclusively reported that Stefani categorically denies dating Shelton.

After splitting from her 49-year-old husband of 13 years, rumors began to swirl that the Grammy winner might be romantically linked to Shelton, who is also recently divorced from Miranda Lambert.

Stefani referred to Shelton as “the cowboy” in her interview with ET before her MasterCard Priceless Surprises concert on Saturday.

“It seems like the cowboy is really happy on the show,” she said. “We’re all having so much fun on that show. Everybody is in such a good place.”

As for the rumors that she and Shelton are an item, she joked, “Have you read the news?”

Shelton also denies dating Stefani or anyone else for that matter in the wake of his divorce from Lambert after four years of marriage.

“The stuff I read about myself blows my mind. Shouldn’t I get to do all these things since I’m already accused of them?” he tweeted on Oct. 7. “I literally just got back from FAR northern Quebec chasing caribou and now read about all the crazy stuff I’ve been doing lately?!! #WTF”

After laughing off the dating rumors, Stefani explained how music has been a balm to her soul through her breakup.

“The biggest gift has been to be able to take some tragedy and write a song about it and share that,” Stefani said. “The rewards that I’ve gotten through that is just unbelievable.”

From the pain of divorce came a whole new album written in just eight weeks, and her MasterCard Priceless Surprises concert on Saturday at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom at The Manhattan Center, marked her first performance since February.

“Not that much time has gone by, but so much has happened, so I had to change it,” Gwen Stefani noted. “I had to get all new costumes, new band, dancers. Everything had to evolve the way I have just in this short amount of time.”

  • Jessica Biel Hears the Sweetest Words From Tearful Husband Justin Timberlake at His Hall of Fame Induction

Jessica Biel is one lucky lady.

Justin Timberlake broke down while offering a touching speech Saturday as he accepted his induction into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame and said the sweetest words to wife Jessica Biel, calling her his “rock.”

“This is the f—ing coolest thing that has ever happened to me,” the 34-year-old singer and actor pop star said after being introduced by his close friend, Jimmy Fallon, as reported by Us Weekly.

“I wanna thank all the great artists in this hall,” he continued, choking up. “I’m truly honored to merely stand on the shoulders of all these legends I grew up listening to, and I grew up admiring, to say that I stand alongside them now.”

Sporting a navy and black houndstooth suit jacket, Timberlake brought women, and presumably his wife Jessica Biel, 33, to their knees as he sweetly thanked the mother of their son, Silas Randall, calling her both his “rock” and “beautiful, loving and incredibly understanding.”

“Baby, I love you more than I could put into words and more than any song I could ever write,” he said of his wife.

Biel and Timberlake dated on and off for five years before marrying in Italy in October 2012. They welcomed Silas Randall this past April.

Can we get a collective sigh? What do you think about Justin Timberlake‘s tribute to his Jessica Biel?

  • Khloé Kardashian Receives The Response ‘Hey Baby’ and Thumbs Up From Lamar Odom to Her ‘I Love You”

The internet seemed to breathe a sigh of relief after news broke that Lamar Odom had awakened from a four-day coma, looked at his estranged wife, Khloé Kardashian, who has not left his side since rushed to a Las Vegas hospital, and said simply, “Hey Baby.”

Friends and relatives have confirmed that the former NBA star regained consciousness and is responsive four days after being found near death in a Nevada brothel.

Alvina Alston, publicist for JaNean Mercer, Odom’s maternal aunt and godmother, said that Odom spoke a greeting and gave a thumbs-up Friday morning.

“He woke up and he spoke,” Alston said.

Odom’s former coach Jim Harrick said Khloé Kardashian told him that Odom is now off dialysis, and that he showed a response when she reached down to say “Lamar, I love you.”

“Khloe has promised me she’s going to stay by his bedside until she and him can walk out of the hospital together,” Harrick said.

Authorities continue to investigate Odom’s $75,000, three-day visit to the brothel. Blood test results to determine what caused his medical episode still pending.

Odom was found unconscious at the Love Ranch Tuesday with white and reddish substances coming from his nose and mouth. He was breathing and taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas.

Khloé Kardashian rushed to his side that night, followed by Kris Jenner and the Kardashian sisters. According to reports, Khloé flew Lamar’s ex-wife and his two children to be by his side as Lamar’s condition continued to deteriorate.

Kardashian notified her fans that the family would not be posting on social media during Odom’s health crisis.

“As a family, we’ve decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar,” she posted, thanking fans for their love, support and understanding.

Mercer issued her own statement Friday thanking the public for its support, saying they’re family was focused on Odom’s “complete healing.”

“No words can express the overwhelming gratitude we feel for the outpouring of support from around the world,” the statement issued Friday said.

Meanwhile, Khloé Kardashian remains by her estranged husband’s side as he makes improvements, knowing full well that he is not yet out of the woods and has a long road to complete recovery — a recovery the whole world seems to want for the beloved, former Los Angeles player.

  • Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt Bash Lauren Conrad — Again

Heidi Montag and her husband, Spencer Pratt, don’t seem to think enough is enough.

As Us Weekly points out, The Hills may have ended five years ago, but people still consider Montag and Pratt two of the biggest villains in reality TV. Although they may not deny the title, they seem to take issue over the moniker when it comes to their relationship with Lauren Conrad.

“I spent years pretending to like her for a living,” Montag, 29, told the magazine of her former roommate and friend. “It was literally my job to deal with her, and it wasn’t pleasant… I had nothing to do with her problems. I even tried to help her. The fact is, she lied about me and tried to destroy my life, yet I was the one painted as the villain so the show could have her as the good guy.”

Although cast members of the hit MTV reality series have concurred that the show was scripted, Montag says that hasn’t changed the public’s perception of her or her husband.

“It’s not that I care about [LC] anymore, but it is upsetting to me that everyone knows by now that The Hills was a scripted show, yet people still think the negative stuff about me that the show set up to make me the villain to her hero was real. It’s bizarre,” said Heidi. “It’s like if people were still mad at James Earl Jones for being the voice of Darth Vader!”

Recently, Pratt, 32, said some rather harsh words about Lauren Conrad to Complex magazine.

“Lauren is a cold-hearted killer,” Pratt said. “That’s what people don’t get. She will cut you in your sleep. She tried to destroy us. If you want to throw missiles, I’m throwing a nuke. This is how I operate.”

Heidi Montag told Us Weekly that she means no harm to Lauren Conrad, 29, but she feels she no longer has to continue with the fictionalized version of herself that was created for the show.

“I don’t wish her any ill will, but I also don’t have to lie for her or play along with her story line as part of my job anymore,” Montag said. “I was pretending to be someone I wasn’t for those years I was on the show and I think people got an image of me that just wasn’t me. So I’ve just decided that I’m never going to be anything other than honest about her or my time on the show.”

Is anyone else tired of the bickering between Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt and Lauren Conrad?

  • Olivia Wilde Is Blaming ‘Pure Sexism’ For Political Attacks On Hillary Clinton, ‘It’s Ridiculous’

Olivia Wilde is blaming “pure sexism” for political attacks on Hillary Clinton.

In the midst of battle for equal pay by females in the film industry, Wilde is speaking out against sexism on the campaign trail.

According to People magazine, the 31-year-old actress calling out the people who she believes are criticizing Hillary Clinton based on her gender, not her merit.

“It’s pure sexism,” she told the Daily Beast. “This bulls— about her not seeming ‘warm’ enough is pure misogyny.

“It’s ridiculous,” she continued. “I think she’s one of the loveliest, most personable politicians I’ve ever met – much warmer than other politicians, in fact. That’s pure sexism.”

Wilde encourages voters to be more concerned with Clinton’s political record, which Wilde says “speaks for itself,” rather than how she looks or acts.

“She’s an incredibly skilled debater and her intelligence and experience speaks for itself,” Wilde said. “That’s the thing about Hillary – when people stop scheming to take her down with bulls—-, her actual resume speaks for itself.”

The Meadowland actress has upped her support for the presidential hopeful in the past months. She not only introduced Clinton at a campaign event back in June, she has also defended her pick for president on Twitter.

Do you think Olivia Wilde is correct in her assumption that attacks on Hillary Clinton are based on sexism?

  • Jennifer Garner Hosts Fundraiser to Save the Lives of Two Little Girls

Jennifer Garner has a big heart, there’s no doubt about it. The two young daughters of producer Gordon Gray and his wife Kristen were diagnosed with Batten disease, which is an extremely rare degenerative brain disorder for which there is no cure, and Jennifer and the rest of the Hollywood community rallied around them to raise awareness and funds.

On Wednesday, the 43-year-old mother of three children herself, held a fundraiser to support the Charlotte and Gwenyth Gray Foundation and its mission of raising the $10-12 million needed to support research and find potential treatments for the disease.

“Kristen and Gordon Gray are not going to let us avert our eyes from their daughters’ condition,” Garner said. “In the middle of their pain and grief, they are going to face the facts of Batten disease and look us in the eye and ask us to join them in the fight.”

The little girls, Charlotte, four, and Gwenyth, two, were diagnosed with late-infantile-NCL Batten disease in March. Batten disease progresses rapidly and causes developmental regression, blindness, changes in behavior, seizures and dementia.

Little Charlotte is already experiencing some symptoms, including having trouble with speech and muscle control. Gwenyth, who is symptom-free for the moment, has tested positive for the disease.

“We need the money yesterday,” Gordon Gray, 50, told People magazine in June. “Every day is worse than the day before. It’s a degenerative disease and we just need to get started now.”

According to the Grays’s, their foundation is “very close” to the 3 million dollar mark.

“We still have a way to go, but each event brings awareness, touches new people and helps spread out message which is that we want to cure this horrible disease so that no other child will suffer,” the Grays said in a statement.

“It is wonderful to see how invested Jennifer is in not only to our cause but also other rare diseases,” they continued. “She is so open and willing to help in any way and for that we are very grateful.”

  • Abby Lee Miller of ‘Dance Moms’ Faces Prison For Bankruptcy Fraud

Abby Lee Miller of Dance Moms is in hot water again.

The 49-year-old reality star, whose charges for assault were dropped in July, is facing an indictment from a federal grand jury on charges of bankruptcy fraud, according to Deadline Hollywood.

The indictment alleges that Miller hid hundreds of thousands of dollars from bankruptcy court. According to documents, Abby Lee Miller lied about income amounting to $755,492.85 she received from her Lifetime reality show, dance studio and merchandise from 2012-2013 in order to restructure her debt more favorably.

Each count against Miller carries a possible five years in federal prison, along with a $250,000 fine.

“Criminal prosecution is appropriate when debtors corrupt the bankruptcy process through deceit and lies before the court,” said U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton in a statement obtained by Entertainment Tonight.

Akeia Conner, an Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Special Agent in Charge, reiterated what Hickton said in his statement.

“Fraud and dishonesty in bankruptcy proceedings undermines the integrity of these important proceedings and especially hurts the creditors and American taxpayers,” said Akeia.

“The investigation of Abigale Lee Miller demonstrates our commitment to identify and prosecute those who commit bankruptcy fraud,” said David McGinnis of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service – Pittsburgh Division about the charges.

In July, Miller was sued by Paige Hyland, who alleged that Abby Lee hurled a chair at her. Los Angeles Superior Court judge Ruth Ann Kwan ruled that there was insufficient evidence to prove the claims made by Hyland and the lawsuit was dropped. The suit, filed in 2014, claimed that Miller was “paid to be abusive and bullying to her students. It also claimed that she “insulted and abused Paige on an almost daily basis, including cruel name calling, insults about Paige’s physical appearance and making offensive false and defamatory accusation [sic.] about Paige’s family.”

It’s unclear whether she will return to the Lifetime series. In June, Miller told ET that she wasn’t sure if she’d return.

“Lifetime is a little in arrears on their payment plan with me personally, and so I think that will have to be taken care of first before we talk about season six,” she said. “It’s the kids that watch our show. So I wish that the network would realize that, and the production company would back off the moms and the swearing and the fighting and all that, and let’s concentrate on the dancing.”

What do you think of these latest legal woes for Abby Lee Miller?

  • Emilia Clarke of ‘Game of Thrones’ Named Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive

Emilia Clarke, who is beloved as Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones, has been named Esquire magazine’s Sexiest Woman Alive.

For the cover of the magazine, the Mother of Dragons struck a sexy pose lying topless in bed. According to TV Guide, inside the issue, Clarke poses in a series of photos featuring the actress in lots of lingerie.

For the feature article, Emilia told of how she landed her star-making role as Daenerys Targaryen on the HBO hit. She said that after graduating from drama school, Clarke gave herself a year to make it as an actress, but failed. She wound up working three jobs, including gigs at a bar, at a call center and one job she declined to reveal.

“And then my agent calls me up and says, ‘Did you ever go up for Game of Thrones?’” Clarke recalls, noting that HBO had shot a pilot, but wasn’t happy with the original casting.

“My agent told the casting director, ‘I know that the breakdown for this character is tall and willowy and blonde. I know she’s short and round and brown, but I’d like you to see her.’”

Things went very quickly for the actress and she didn’t even have the time to read the George R.R. Martin’s books to discover more about her character.

“So I did what every good actor does and Wikipedia’d the living crap out of it,” she said.

From there, Clarke said she sensed that what HBO was looking for was “someone who could grow before your eyes in one season, who could gather strength and show vulnerability, they wanted the arc.”

As to the sexy and often times nude scenes for Game of Thrones, Emilia Clarke said, “I’m perfectly find with it.”

Do you think Emilia Clarke is the sexiest woman alive? If not, who is your choice for the honor?

  • Kirsten Dunst Prepared For Her ‘Fargo’ Role By Pigging Out, Watching ‘Friday Night Lights’ and Loving It

Kirsten Dunst lived out everyone’s dream of being lazy and eating like a pig, all the while getting paid to do so.

For her role on the FX series Fargo, the 33-year-old actress was required to pack on the pounds and so she did.

In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, Kirsten Dunst dished about how she had to gain weight to play her character. There have been other actors and actresses who have gone down this road in the past and many of them have complained about the process. However, Dunst says it was as great as many of us imagine.

“Well, listen, I was in Calgary and it was cold. And so I ordered in a lot of pizza, grilled cheeseI just had different cheeses and breads together,” she said, laughing. “And now I’m like, ‘Yeah! I gained weight for this role,’ but really I just sat in my bed, watched Friday Night Lights and ate. That’s what I did.”

Friday Night Lights is an obvious choice considering her husband and Fargo co-star, Jesse Plemons, is an alum of the show. She told Kimmel she always gets the behind-the-scenes scoop.

“I learned real juice. Like who was dating whoshocking couples!” she exclaimed, teasing the audience. “Like I can’t even say. It would be so fun to gossip about it but we can’t!”

In Fargo, Dunst portrays a sociopathic Midwestern beautician married to an unassuming butcher’s assistant named Ed, played by Plemons.

The actress had nothing but praise for Fargo.

“It’s nice to promote something and not have to lie about it,” Kristen Dunst said, insinuating there’s definitely been roles she wasn’t as excited about.

So would you enjoy being lazy and pigging out the whole live-long day?

  • Hayden Panettiere Checks Into Treatment Center to Address Problems With Postpartum Depression

Hayden Panettiere is seeking treatment for postpartum depression, according to a statement from her rep.

Much like her character on Nashville, Panettiere has struggled since giving birth to daughter Kaya with fiancé Wladimir Klitschko last December.

“Hayden Panettiere is voluntarily seeking professional help at a treatment center as she is currently battling postpartum depression,” the actress’ rep confirmed to Entertainment Weekly on Tuesday. “She asks that the media respect her privacy during this time.”

Recently, Hayden Panettiere opened up about the struggle that she and many new moms face.

“There’s a lot of misunderstanding and there’s a lot of people out there that think that it’s not real, that it’€™s not true, that it’s something that’s made up in their minds, that Oh, it’€™s hormones. They brush it off,” the actress said on Live! with Kelly and Michael in September. “It’s something that’s completely uncontrollable. It’s really painful and it’s really scary and women need a lot of support.”

Panettiere’s character on Nashville has also struggled with postpartum depression, and the actress says the storyline helped her better understand what she was going through in real life.

“What I thought postpartum was, was wanting to cause your child harm. You know, that really severe version of postpartum,” admitted Panettiere. “Now, having had a child, I’ve realized that it can be on quite a large spectrum, and the symptoms don’t have to be as in your face and obvious.”

“I definitely struggled with that a little bit,” Panettiere continued. “I never felt any ill feelings towards my daughter, and never thought, I don’t want to be a mom or this is terrible€™ or anything negative. But, my personality all around was, I wasn’t in a great mode. It’s not a good feeling but women need to know that there are a lot of different kinds and that they’re not alone.”

Can any of you new moms out there relate to Hayden Panettiere‘s real struggle with postpartum depression? Best wishes to Hayden as she courageously deals with this common problem.
