  • Pope Francis Condemns ‘Abominable Cruelty’ Of Brussels Attacks

Pope Francis spoke out against the Brussels attacks Wednesday, urging the world to unite in condemning the brutal terrorist attack.

According to Reuters, the 79-year-old pontiff said those responsible for the attacks were blinded by “cruel fundamentalism.”

“I appeal to all those of good faith to join together in unanimous condemnation of this abominable cruelty which causes only death, terror and horror,” the pope said at his weekly general audience in front of St. Peter’s Basilica.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s suicide bomb attacks on Brussels airport and a metro train in the Belgian capital on Tuesday that killed 34 people and injured at least 200 more.

The pope said he hoped God would “convert the hearts of these people who have been blinded by cruel fundamentalism.”

According to the Associated Press, Holy Week ceremonies over the next few days is drawing large crowds to the Vatican and Rome, Italy. Harrison Ford Might Appear In Future Star Wars Films?

Harrison Ford has hinted that he just might appear in future Star Wars films.

The 73-year-old actor who played Han Solo in several Star Wars films, stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday as he continues to make the press rounds for the Blu-Ray release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, due April 5.

“I think it’s quite clear that I’ve got nothing better to do,” Ford told Kimmel about his visit to the show.

Ford shared that the death of Han Solo in the movie was something he’d been urging for a long time.

“I argued for 30 years for this to happen and I finally wore them down,” Ford said.

In fact, the actor wanted the character to get killed off back when he and George Lucas were making Return of the Jedi.

Kimmel noted that the Solo death came as a complete surprise because it wasn’t spoiled before the release of The Force Awakens.

“I think they knew that I would show up at their house and beat the s— out of them,” he said.

When Kimmel lamented that the world would no longer see Ford as Han Solo in the future Star Wars movies, Ford made an interesting comment.

“Who said that?” Ford replied. “Who made you the boss?”

OK, perhaps that’s not exactly confirmation, but it gets the blood pumping.

Ford also talked about the news that he’ll reprise his role as Indiana Jones. He and director Steven Spielberg are set for a fifth film slated to come out in 2019.

“I’m excited about this,” Ford said. “The opportunity to work with Steven again on this character which has brought pleasure to so many, not to mention me — it’s great fun to play this character.”

Vadym Kholodenko: Pianist’s Estranged Wife Charged With Murder Of Their Two Daughters

Pianist Vadym Kholodenko’s estranged wife has been charged with killing the couple’s two daughters in Fort Worth, Texas, Reuters reported on Monday, March 21, citing law enforcement.

Sofya Tsygankova was charged with two counts of capital murder and is being held on a $2 million bond. The couple’s daughters, Nika, five, and Michela, one, were found dead in their rooms by Kholodenko a few days earlier on Thursday.

“We have probable cause, reason to believe, that she committed the homicides,” Benbrook police commander David Babcock told reporters at a news conference on Monday.

Tsygankova, 31, suffered “what appeared to be self-inflicted stab wounds” in the incident and is undergoing a mental health evaluation.

According to Fox News, Kholodenko’s estranged wife sought mental treatment the day before their two young daughters were found dead.

Kholodenko, 29, who is half American, is an award-winning Ukrainian pianist.

Kholodenko won the 14th prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth in 2013, beating nearly 30 finalists from 12 countries.

The couple were married in 2010 and filed for divorce last year. Kholodenko no longer lived at the home with Tsygankova and their daughters, but routinely picked up the children from the home in the mornings.

The girls were buried Monday at a private service and a memorial service was scheduled for Tuesday night.

“The loss of my children will be with me forever,” Kholodenko said in a statement on Friday. “Wherever I go after this tragedy, my heart will stay with all the people here of Fort Worth and my daughters will rest in this soil.”

Amal Clooney Gives Passionate Speech On Human Rights In United Arab Emirates

Amal Clooney told the audience of a government communications summit in the United Arab Emirates Sunday that governments around the world have a duty to be vocal, consistent, principled and transparent about human rights.

The 38-year-old human rights avocate and attorney gave her address the opening of the annual event. The ruler of the emirate of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, was also scheduled to speak.

“The first piece of advice I would have from my experience is that governments need to be vocal about human rights,” said Clooney.

According to Fox News, Amal said countries face “an unprecedented human rights crisis” and urged that criticism should be carried out through dialogue, not prison terms, and that protests be met with “crowd control,” rather than bullets.

“My advice to you is not only to be vocal and consistent, but also to be principled in communications about human rights. The fourth suggestion I have is to be quick,” she said. “Governments must be prepared to be transparent and get their message out first.”

Perhaps Clooney was being diplomatic when she avoided talking about human rights abuses in Gulf Arab countries or the exorbitant toll on human life resulting from the Saudi-led military intervention in Yemen, in which the UAE is taking part. She did, however, mention countries like Sudan, Iran and North Korea, which are known for carrying out atrocities in her 12-minute speech.

Amal Clooney, who is married to actor George Clooney, is known for taking on high-profile international cases, including Egyptian-Canadian journalist Mohammed Fahmy, who spent more than a year in prison in Egypt before he and a fellow reporter from Al-Jazeera English received presidential pardons.

Emma Stone Slated to Play Rosemary Kennedy In Biopic About the Mentally-Ill Sister of JFK

Emma Stone has been asked to take on the role of Rosemary Kennedy in a new biopic about the mentally-ill sister of John F Kennedy, Jr..

According to Variety, the Oscar-nominated actress will portray the eldest daughter of Joseph and Rose Kennedy, and sibling to senators Robert F. Kennedy and Ted Kennedy, during her final days in Letters to Rosemary.

Rosemary led a difficult life and was one of the first people in America to undergo a prefrontal lobotomy at the age of 23.

The botched lobotomy, which left the young woman permanently incapacitated, will be the focus of the film penned by Nick Yarborough.

The script explores the moments leading up to the lobotomy, what happened during the procedure and the lasting affects on the family in the years following the procedure.

Rosemary Kennedy was reportedly an affectionate and dutiful daughter who was always eager to please her father. After displaying behavioral problems that caused her to fall behind the achievements of her siblings, Joseph Kennedy arranged the lobotomy. A year later, that same young woman was unable to form a sentence, which became one of many dark family secrets and a source of shame and embarrassment for the family.

The film starring Emma Stone has been on the coveted Black List of unproduced screenplays and is currently being shopped to studios and independent financiers. So far no one has shown interest just yet.

Some fans have pointed out that a patch of concrete seems to be missing underneath the small of her back in the photo posted to Instagram.

Even if the photo was tweaked, a second photo of Spears with her son Jayden James, nine, and her niece Lexie (oh and her abs) proves that she is in great shape.

While Britney may have taken a day off, she is still hard at work on her Las Vegas residency. Recently, Britney reworked her Piece of Me show at The AXIS to feature new costumes and the song Breathe on Me.

“I’m not ready to leave Vegas yet! And I just really really love this show and this city,” Britney told E! When it came down to me really having to make this decision, I just couldn’t imagine ending my residency at the end of this year.”

Prince Charles Ends Tours of Balkans By Encouraging Reconciliation In the Region

Prince Charles ended his tour of the Balkans by encouraging families who lost loved ones during the Balkans War.

The six-day visit to Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo by the Price of Wales and his wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, was meant to bring healing and reconciliation between the countries in the region, according to the Associated Press.

At the couple’s final stop of the tour at Prizren, where he was hosted by the Sinan Pasha Mosque, the Serbian Orthodox Church of St George, and the Roman Catholic Church of our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Prince Charles was greeted by a throng of people, including children excitedly waving flags and clapping.

“I listened this morning to some of the families who has lost their loved ones – missing persons. I know there are so many still in this country,” Prince Charles told the crowd.

“They asked me if I could help, I wish I could do more. It seems to me there is so much unnecessary death and destruction around the world.

“We see it all the time now in the Middle East. It is utterly heart-breaking. It is utterly pointless. Yet now we have an ideal opportunity to rebuild bridges.”

“I understand the appalling agonies, the dreadful experiences, the pain but in order for countries which have been through such utter horror to recover, that has to be part of the building the new foundation,” said Prince Charles.

“I pray that those courageous people that cross the bridge to the other side win the day in the end.

“So I pray that as a result of meetings like this and all the marvellous work that’s being done by so many courageous people, Kosovo will have a really special future.

“I’m so proud my country, the United Kingdom, has been able to play a small part in the renewal of Kosovo.”

Before visiting Prizren, Charles and Camilla met with relatives of some of the 1,668 people who have been missing since the country’s conflict in 1999.

Charles was awarded the Order for Peace, Democracy and Humanism when he met with representatives from the Red Cross and the EU who are aiding Kosovo in its attempts to identify victims and investigate mass graves.

The gold medallion and certificate were presented to Charles for his “life long contribution to supporting peace harmony and better understanding between people in Kosovo and beyond.”

“Thank you very much – I shall treasure it,” Prince Charles said of the honor.

Gwen Stefani Says She Has ‘Nothing To Be Ashamed Of’ After Split With Gavin Rossdale

Gwen Stefani doesn’t have much to say about the end of her 13-year marriage to Gavin Rossdale and for very good reason.

“I don’t feel like I have anything to be ashamed of,” Stefani told Time magazine. “I’ve done nothing wrong. I don’t feel like I have anything to protect about myself. But when you’re a mother, you have to have some boundaries.”

Gwen Stefani Says the True Story of Her Split With Gavin Rossdale Would Leave Us ‘in Shock’

The 46-year-old singer hasn’t been completely mum, however. She recently hinted to The New York Times that the real reason why the two split would leave people “in shock.” Stefani added, “It’s a really good, juicy story.”

Blake Shelton‘s girlfriend said after splitting with Rossdale, 50, last August, she returned to her solo career and recorded her third solo album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like.

“It was really a life-saver record for me,” said Stefani. “It wasn’t until I had to go through the worst tragedy that it really opened up a channel for me to be like, ‘God gave me a gift. I’m going to use it now. Because if I don’t, I’m going to die.’”

The singer’s faith has played a key role in helping her heal after the very painful end to her marriage.

Maryanne Trump Barry, Donald’s Sister, Receives Threatening Letter

Maryanne Trump Barry, Donald Trump’s older sister, received a threatening letter Friday in Philadelphia.

The federal appeals court judge received the letter a day after the GOP front-runner’s son received a suspicious piece of mail containing white powder, according to NBC News.

This is the second Trump family member to receive a threatening letter. Eric Trump, the son of Donald Trump, also received a letter on Thursday demanding that his real estate mogul father drop out of the Republican race for the presidential nomination.

Police were called to Eric’s apartment at Trump Parc East after his wife opened a letter and white powder fell out, WABC reported.

The mail sent to Eric Trump was postmarked in Massachusetts, police sources said, but preliminary tests deemed substance found inside the letter non-hazardous.

The FBI and Secret Service are investigating the incident, trying to determine if the letters came from the same source.

Trump Barry, a 78-year-old judge with the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit, came under scrutiny earlier this year when Trump off-handedly said that he would appoint her to the Supreme Court.

Ted Cruz has called Trump Barry a “radical pro-abortion extremist” for her ruling against banning abortions in New Jersey.

NBC said suspicious and threatening packages are not uncommon for high profile personalities.

  • Gal Gadot Explains What Inspired Her To Take On The Role Of Wonder Woman

Gal Gadot Explains What Inspired Her To Take On The Role Of Wonder Woman

Gal Gadot, who has been controversially cast as Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, said it was her daughter, Alma, who inspired her to put on that iconic outfit.

“I have a 4-year-old daughter and she adores princesses at the same time she will tell me the princess is so weak, she falls asleep and the prince will come and kiss her and save her and he is the hero,” Gadot said Friday at a press conference for the film.

“So I am so happy to be the one who is going to tell the Wonder Woman story. It is such an important story to tell,” she added. “It is so important for girls and boys to have a female, strong, super hero to look up to. The more the merrier and there is plenty of room for many more women to come and I am very happy to be a part of it.”

The 30-year-old actress faced criticism back in 2013 when it was announced that she would portray Wonder Woman, a.k.a.Diana Prince, a.k.a the Princess of the Amazons. DC Comics fans complained that Gadot wasn’t curvy enough for the role comparing her to Lynda Carter, the actress who previously suited up as Wonder Woman on the small screen.

“For me being an actress, my responsibility is not to pay attention to all the noise around me and to pay attention to the script and the director and protect the character and try to tell her story the best I can,” she said of the controversy.

Despite the backlash, Gadot says she is thrilled to star alongside Ben Affleck (Batman), and Henry Cavill (Superman).

“It’s a huge honor for me to be the one to get this amazing opportunity to tell such an important story. I feel very grateful,” said Gadot. “I never planned on being an actress or Wonder Woman but everything just happened and I am grateful and happy and in love with what I do. I am enjoying everything but it will take me sometime until I really understand what is going on.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25.

Pearce currently stars in Australian TV series Jack Irish. He is also slated to portray Scott Fitzgerald in the upcoming film, Genius, set for release in July.

  • Jennifer Garner Receives Nothing But Praise From Her “Miracles From Heaven’ Costars

Jennifer Garner has received nothing but praise from her Miracles from Heaven costars despite the turmoil the actress was under during filming as a result of her split from estranged husband Ben Affleck.

The 43-year-old actress did not let her personal life interfere with her professional life even while film during the darkest days of their split, according to a report by People magazine.

“Jen, obviously, had a lot of personal stuff going on in her life,” said Martin Henderson, 41, who stars opposite of Garner in the film. “For her, things were a lot more complicated, so it would have been understandable if she brought a lot of that stuff onto the set. And not once did she ever, and once again I thought that just speaks to her character and how [incredibly focused] and professional she is.”

The film was under production last summer when news broke that she and Affleck were ending their 10-year marriage.

The end of her marriage “didn’t stop her ever from arriving on time and being a trouper and giving us the best performance in every scene and never talking about anything else other than concentrating and focusing on the role,” said director Patricia Riggen. “I have great respect for her.”

Henderson said he thought the emotional turmoil may have led Garner to dig even deeper to bring an extra quality to her performance.

“We all like to think we have that inner strength, and having known Jen a little bit she has that same quality,” said Henderson of Garner, who is mom to to Violet, 10, Seraphina, seven, and Samuel, four. “When you see her around her children, the commitment that she has, how seriously she takes the responsibility of a mother and how she puts her kids first over everything is quite rare. In that regard, I think Jen is perfectly cast.”

  • O.J. Simpson Not Pleased With FX Series, So Says Former Guard

O.J. Simpson is none too pleased with FX’s take on the “trial of the (last) century.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Simpson, who was exonerated of the 1994 double murder of ex-wife Nicole Brown and Ronald Goldman, has not seen a single episode of FX’s The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, but he still has an opinion on the show.

Needless to say, O.J. is filled in about the show from everyone in his prison-world and reportedly believes the producers make him seem guilty of the brutal stabbing.

According to Jeffrey Felix, a now-retired guard who worked 20 years at the Lovelock Correctional Center where Simpson has been housed since his 2008 armed robbery conviction, Simpson’s first issue is the casting of Cuba Gooding, Jr.

“[O.J.] knows he is taller. He knows he is better looking. He has a bigger head. He is more muscular,” said Felix, who retired last September.

While the former guard has no contact with O.J. Simpson, his buddies at the prison fill him in.

“He is unhappy with the show because it is kind of making it seem like he is totally guilty,” Felix says. Some of the guards have begun to make fun of Simpson because of the series, he adds.

Felix said “the Juice” is also angry over the series’ depiction that Simpson failed a lie detector test.

“He told me he passed that [test] years ago,” says Felix.

Felix said Simpson will not likely see the series until possibly next year when he is up for parole, and add that he believes the former Heismann Trophy winner has a very good shot at getting parole because he is a “model inmate.”

“He is trying to lay low in there,” Felix says. “He is doing a great job.”

  • Cameron Diaz Surprises Class At Stanford University As a Guest Lecturer

Cameron Diaz surprised a class of students at Stanford University on Thursday and one can only imagine what must have gone through those students’ heads when the Charlie’s Angels star walked in.

Diaz, 43, helped lead a lecture on environmentally friendly design as part of taping for an mtvU program called Stand-In, in which celebrities teach a class.

In similar fashion, Madonna lectured students at New York’s Hunter College last week.

Diaz has long been a champion for the environment and has served as a sidekick for friend and renowned environmental architect William McDonough, a consulting professor at Stanford.

“He’s very charismatic, captivating,” Diaz said of McDonough, who Time magazine once called “Hero for the Planet.” “Bill is one of those people who is thinking big, but is also producing.”

Needless to say, the students in the Stanford class pretty much lost it with gasps and giggles when Diaz interrupted the class right in the middle of McDonough’s lecture.

Cameron Diaz, who is starring in the recently released In Her Shoes, later took some time to snap selfies with the students on their cell phones.

  • Cindy Crawford Poses With Daughter Kaia For Cover of French Vogue

Cindy Crawford and her 14-year-old daughter, Kaia Gerber, are gracing the April cover of French Vogue and look more like sister than mother and daughter.

It seems the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree. Kaia is every bit the beauty her 50-year-old former supermodel ever was — and is.

While this is far from Cindy’s first time on the fashion magazine’s cover, it is first time on the cover. It isn’t the first time she’s been featured by the magazine however. She and her brother, Presley Gerber, now 16, were featured in an inside spread alongside their mom in the September 2015 issue of American Vogue.

While obviously proud of her daughter, Cindy told NET-A-PORTER.COM’s weekly digital fashion magazine The EDIT that she worries about the pressures of modeling.

“Today, models are expected to be so tiny and I worry about that for her, because that was never my natural body type and I don’t think it’ll be hers either,” she said. “Still, I’ll say to her, ‘Enjoy carbs while you can!’”

“Kaia’s blossoming into such a beautiful young woman and I really want to let her shine,” added Cindy. “I don’t want her to feel in competition with me, although I’ll tease her, and say, ‘You have my old hair–give it back!’ Or, ‘Give me back my legs!’ But she’ll be fine…She’s much more together and worldly than I was at her age.”

Actress Brie Larson became so immersed in her character from the critically-acclaimed film, Room, that she say she needed to take time some time to find herself afterwards.

“This time a year ago I was still trying to figure out who I was. The movie was done but I was in deep, searching, trying to remember who I was before this movie. Who I was by the time the movie was over was so far away from who I was when I started. So it was a long process of trying to find myself,” Larson told OK! Magazine, reports IBNLive.

On Sunday, the hostage drama won nine prizes, including best film and best director for Lenny Abrahamson at The Canadian Screen Awards, which was presented by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television and aired on the CBC network.
