  • Daisy Ridley in Talks for Lara Croft Role in “Tomb Raider” Reboot

Daisy Ridley in Talks for Lara Croft Role in “Tomb Raider” Reboot

Daisy Ridley is reportedly in talks to play Lara Craft in an upcoming Tomb Raider reboot.

“There have been conversations,” Daisy Ridley tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m waiting for someone to say ‘I want you, let’s do it.’”

Daisy Ridley would certainly be an excellent candidate for the role.

The film will be based on the rebooted Tomb Raider game series. Director Roar Uthaug is excited to feature Lara Croft as an actual human being.

“I think making Lara Croft feel like a real human being, that’s definitely something we want to bring to the big screen as well,” he said.

Daisy Ridley’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens costar John Boyega thinks she would be an excellent candidate for the Lara Craft role.

“I played Tomb Raider the game, it’s a new take and I think the movies are going to be based on that version,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “But I texted Daisy [and] was like, ‘this is you!’ and ‘you need to get on that because you could be Lara Croft.’ She should be.”

Do you agree with John Boyega? Should Daisy Ridley be cast as Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider film reboot?

Daisy Ridley rules in her role as Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Surely she’d have the right look and all the right moves to portray a human Lara Croft.

  • Jencarlos Canela: The Word “God” Bigger Than Religion

Jencarlos Canela: The Word “God” Bigger Than Religion

Jencarlos Canela played Jesus Christ in Fox’s Sunday night broadcast of The Passion, and he has an interesting take on religion.

“I was raised Catholic, but I consider myself more spiritual than religious,” he said in a recent interview with People magazine.

What led Jencarlos Canela away from traditional religion?

The Telenovela star cites “human error” for his “disconnect from religion.” This doesn’t mean he doesn’t believe in God, however.

“We make the mistake of attaching the word God to religion,” Jencarlos Canela says. “The word God is way bigger than religion.”

The Passion was set in modern day New Orleans. It featured several contemporary songs, as well as a different look at the final hours on earth of Jesus Christ. Trisha Yearwood played Christ’s mother, Mary.

“We can’t allow anyone to tell us how our relationship with God must be,” Canela says. “We can choose our own path. And at the end of the day, all that matters is that we are on that path with a supreme being who helps us strive to become better people–a better version of ourselves.”

What did you think of Jencarlos Canela as Jesus Christ in Fox’s broadcast of the new, modern version of The Passion?

Did you like this modern take on the story of Christ’s last days or do you prefer a more traditional depiction?

Jencarlos Canela does make an excellent point in say God is bigger than religion. Too often people get wrapped up in the “right” way to worship, when a relationship with and belief in no doubt God trumps all.

Joe Santos, “Rockford Files” and “Sopranos” Star, Dies at 84

Joe Santos, the actor best known for his role as Lt. Dennis Becker on The Rockford Files, died on Wednesday in Santa Monica of a heart attack. He was 84 years old.

Son Perry Santos shared word of his father’s passing with TMZ. He said Joe Santos was placed on life support following his heart attack, but later passed away.

In a career that spanned more than four decades, Joe Santos played a recurring role on The Sopranos for several years. He appeared in the 2015 film Chronic. His first role that served as his big break into acting was in a long-defunct soap opera, The Doctors.

The sidekick of James Garner’s Jim Rockford role, Joe Santos played Dennis Becker from 1974 to 1980, receiving an Emmy Award nomination for his role.

In addition to his Rockford Files and Sopranos recurring roles, Joe Santos guest starred on TV shows including Magnum P.I., Hardcastle & McCormick, and Miami Vice.

  • Erin Andrews “Comes Out of Hiding” Since Winning Peephole Lawsuit

Erin Andrews “Comes Out of Hiding” Since Winning Peephole Lawsuit

Erin Andrews was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live in recent days, and she equated her visit with coming out of hiding.

As she chatted with the late night host, he told her how glad he was for her that she won the peephole lawsuit filed against both the hotel in which she stayed and the man who rigged a reversed peephole and filmed her nude, later sharing that nude footage on the internet.

“I’m so happy you won,” Kimmel told Erin Andrews, assuring her he realized she couldn’t talk about the case.

“Thank you, yeah, this is kind of my ‘come out of hiding‘ so why would I not want to be here,” she said.

Erin Andrews went on to share her gratitude.

“I want to thank everybody. People from all over the world, who were so supportive. There are no many nice people that reached out,” she said.

Andrews then turned to Jimmy Kimmel.

“Thank you, love you,” she said.

Erin Andrews was awarded $55 million in the civil lawsuit. It’s expected she might actually receive about half that amount. Michael David Barrett, the man who filmed her in her hotel room, doesn’t have the means to pay out such a large sum. The rest is owed her by the Nashville Marriott, for making it so easy for Barrett to commit his crime.

Michael David Barrett was sentenced to prison and has since been released.

Erin Andrews must now try to put the pieces of her life back together again. Sharing her thanks on Jimmy Kimmel Live may very well have been her starting point.

Candice Swanepoel is in the beginning of her second trimester. She and fellow Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo, wife of The Voice star Adam Levine, are expecting their babies at about the same time.

Kate Middleton: Queen Elizabeth is Doting “Gan-Gan” to Prince George and Princess Charlotte

Kate Middleton has nothing but wonderful things to say about her husband’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. In an upcoming broadcast scheduled for next weekend, the Duchess of Cambridge shares some of those thoughts. Our Queen at Ninety will air over Easter weekend on the BBC, in honor of the queen’s birthday.

While everyone else calls Queen Elizabeth “Her Majesty,” Prince George calls her “Gan-Gan,” according to Kate Middleton. The children love their time spent with their great-grandmother.

Kate Middleton also shares that Queen Elizabeth dotes on the little ones.

“She always leaves a little gift or something in their room when we go and stay,” Kate says.

Queen Elizabeth turns 90 on April 21 but her official celebration will take place in June. Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte will no doubt celebrate with her much closer to her actual birth date.

It’s interesting to note that during the broadcast of Our Queen at Ninety, Kate Middleton speaks in her first solo interview since marrying Prince William back in 2011.

Behati Prinsloo: Check Out the Birthday Message She Sent Hubby Adam Levine

Behati Prinsloo took to social media in recent days to wish her husband, Maroon 5 front man and coach on The Voice, a very happy birthday.

“Happy birthday to the love of my life,” the Victoria’s Secret model captioned an adorable shot of her riding piggyback on Adam. “Everything is boring and meaningless without you!!! ? #besthusband ?.”

Next year on Adam Levine’s birthday, there will be one more person in their family. Behati Prinsloo is pregnant, and the two couldn’t be happier about their first foray into parenthood.

Just a few days ago a source told E! News that Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine already know what they’re having–but they’re not divulging anything yet.

“She knows what she’s having and she’s very excited,” the source said.

While Behati Prinsloo no doubt showered Adam Levine with birthday gifts, it seems the best is yet to come. No due has yet been revealed for the happy couple, but Behati is in the beginning of her second trimester, so that means she still has several months to go.

Many fans wished Adam Levine a happy birthday via social media this week, too, but it’s likely none of those messages meant as much as the one Behati Prinsloo posted for him.

Gwen Stefani Has the Best Boyfriend, Blake Shelton Springs for Six Copies of “This is What the Truth Feels Like”

Gwen Stefani really got a gem when she started dating Blake Shelton. Not only has he supported her through some very difficult months, the two have helped each other out musically, too.

On Friday, Gwen Stefani’s new album, “This is What the Truth Feels Like,” dropped. Blake Shelton bought not just one, but six copies.

The “Came Here to Forget” singer took to Twitter to show off his purchase.

No, Blake, that’s not going overboard. That’s just what you do when you love someone, and it seems as plain as day that Blake Shelton loves Gwen Stefani.

That wasn’t Blake’s only tweet about Gwen Stefani’s new album either. He also shared a screen shot of the list that shows how Gwen’s album quickly climbed to the number one spot–on the day it was released.

Despite the struggles Gwen Stefani has gone through–the ones that led to the demise of her marriage to Gavin Rossdale–she seems to have come out on top. Her music is amazing, her new album is already at number one, and she scored a really hot, talented guy.

    Yes, Gwen scored a gem.

It certainly appears like Blake Shelton feels the same about Gwen Stefani, too.

  • Rory Feek Shares Bittersweet Video of Joey Feek’s Public Memorial Service

Rory Feek Shares Bittersweet Video of Joey Feek’s Public Memorial Service

Rory Feek shared some bittersweet memories of the public memorial service celebrating the life of his late wife, Joey Feek, in her hometown of Alexandria, Indiana last Sunday. He captured the laughter and the tears on his blog, This Life I Live, on Friday.

“We took one final tour-bus ride home. To Joey’s town. To grieve with and celebrate with the people in her community. And to lift up one of their own with tears and joy and songs and speeches,” Rory wrote.

“In the Alexandria High School gymnasium–the same place where Joey had played basketball and volleyball and cheered for her home team–a few thousand people gathered together in her honor. But this time, the cheers were all for her.”

Rory Feek explained that while two-year-old daughter Indiana napped following their drive from Tennessee, he sat on the floor of the Joey + Rory tour bus and jotted down a few things we wanted to make sure to say at Joey’s memorial.

“A few minutes before, as Indy was still napping, I sat in the back hallway of the bus and did my best to come up with a few words to say…to thank this town and to lift up my beautiful bride and this community,” Rory penned.

“Bill and Gloria Gaither hosted the celebration and they and a number of family and friends came up one by one to speak. Joey’s mother and father sang a hymn and shared a few words from their hearts. Her sister Jody talked about being by our side as Joey’s caregiver for the last few months and how Joey has impacted her as a woman and mother. And hometown-hero Carl Erskine, who pitched for the Dodgers in 40’s and 50’s played his harmonica and shared wisdom about raising a child with Down Syndrome with me. Joey’s high school coach Mr Howell even gave me a letter jacket from the high school with Joey’s name on it. An honor that is especially meaningful to a man who’s favorite movie is ‘Hoosiers’ and never lived in one town long enough to play sports or get the chance to try to earn one on his own,” he added.

Following Rory Feek’s turn to speak at Joey’s memorial, he and Indy watched a video featuring Joey Feek.

“It was hard and beautiful to watch at the same time,” Rory shared.

“The whole day was so special. Thank you to everyone who was there and to everyone who wished they could be there with us. Like me, I know my wife would’ve found a way to see the beauty in this sad day,” Rory added.

Bill Gaither provided Rory Feek with a short video excerpt of Joey Feek’s public memorial, so he could share it with those who read his blog.

Last Sunday’s public memorial service for the Joey + Rory singer was the final service for Joey Feek. Rory Feek, family members, and close friends celebrated her life at a private funeral on their Tennessee farm on the Tuesday before. Joey was buried afterward in the small family cemetery on the farm.

Now it’s time for Rory Feek to start figuring out how to move forward–as a single dad to little Indiana, and as a husband without his beloved wife. Indy won’t leave his side in the days since she lost her mother. That’s to be expected, though.

There are no doubt countless people who are praying for Rory Feek to find his way–a new way.

He’ll put the pieces of a new life together. He knows Joey is watching him, and expecting him to do exactly that.

  • Gal Gadot on Upcoming Wonder Woman Role, Providing Children With Someone to Look Up To

Gal Gadot is excited about the premiere of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as she plays Wonder Woman alongside Ben Affleck’s Batman and Henry Cavill’s Superman. She loves that her role provides children with yet another strong character to look up to as well.

“I have a 4-year-old daughter and she adores princesses at the same time she will tell me the princess is so weak, she falls asleep and the prince will come and kiss her and save her and he is the hero,” Gal Gadot said on Friday at a press conference for the film.

“So I am so happy to be the one who is going to tell the Wonder Woman story. It is such an important story to tell,” she added. “It is so important for girls and boys to have a female, strong, super hero to look up to. The more the merrier and there is plenty of room for many more women to come and I am very happy to be a part of it.”

When Gal Gadot was first cast in her role as Wonder Woman–back in 2013–there was some noise about her not being “curvy” enough to fill Lynda Carter’s shoes. Carter played Wonder Woman on the TV series of the same name.

“For me being an actress, my responsibility is not to pay attention to all the noise around me and to pay attention to the script and the director and protect the character and try to tell her story the best I can,” Gadot said.

“It’s a huge honor for me to be the one to get this amazing opportunity to tell such an important story. I feel very grateful,” Gal Gadot shared. “I never planned on being an actress or Wonder Woman but everything just happened and I am grateful and happy and in love with what I do. I am enjoying everything but it will take me sometime until I really understand what is going on.”

Fans can check out Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and more when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on Friday, March 25.

  • Blake Shelton Sues Tabloid for Defamation, Denies He Has Drinking Problem or Went to Rehab

Blake Shelton Sues Tabloid for Defamation, Denies He Has Drinking Problem or Went to Rehab

Blake Shelton filed a lawsuit several weeks ago against In Touch Weekly for defamation of character. The tabloid claimed The Voice coach and “Came Here to Forget” singer has a drinking problem, for which he went to rehab, and wrote that he–among other unsavory things–urinated on a mailbox because of said vice.

On top of that, the tabloid claimed Blake Shelton’s drinking contributed to his split from Miranda Lambert, publishing he was unfaithful to her, too.

TMZ obtained a sworn declaration Blake Shelton submitted to the courts this past Thursday. In it he lists several points that ascertain In Touch published some rather glaring untruths.

In the declaration, Blake Shelton swears to the following:

“I have never been to rehab.”

“I did not then nor have I ever hit rock bottom.”

“I do not drink excessively, binge drink or have a drinking problem.”

“I do not drink vodka before 11 AM.”

“I am never drunk, intoxicated, or unable to perform my job on The Voice.

“I do not slur my words or stumble when I drink.”

“I have never urinated on a mailbox.”

“My ex-wife Miranda Lambert did not catch me with a bunch of naked women in our Tennessee home.”

Blake Shelton is represented by attorney Judy Smith, who is the real-life inspiration for Olivia Pope on Scandal.

“The story was categorically false. Blake said enough is enough and decided to fight back,” she said to TMZ in recent days.

High fives are in order for Blake Shelton for hitting back at this sort of defamation. Tabloids have long gotten away with publishing countless lies about a wealth of celebrities. These kinds of lies can damage a person’s credibility and hurt their fan base.

It will be interesting to learn if Blake Shelton’s case moves forward within the court system. It must pass through some hurdles before it actually heads to court, but it’s well on its way.

Blake Shelton has Gwen Stefani on his side to lighten his load. He is on her side, too, as evidenced when he purchased not just one, but six copies of her newly released album, “This is What the Truth Feels Like.”

In Touch Weekly might soon learn exactly what the truth feels like, especially if Blake Shelton wins this case. That truth could cost them the $2 million he is seeking.

Rachel McAdams’ Relationship With Taylor Kitsch Heating Up

Rachel McAdams and her True Detective costar Taylor Kitsch have been dating–somehwat under the radar–for about a year. Now, it seems the two might be taking their relationship to the next level.

Life & Style mag reports the two are often spotted out to eat and at the gym working out together. Rachel McAdams even likes cooking for Taylor Kitsch.

“They’re practically living together,” a source says. “Rachel is at Taylor’s condo all the time.”

Rachel McAdams has taken another leap with Taylor Kitsch that is even more significant, however. She has brought the Friday Night Lights star home to meet her family.

“He immediately bonded with Rachel’s mom, Sandra, which made Rachel really happy,” the source adds.

Rachel McAdams is best known for her role in the Nicholas Sparks film The Notebook. She will soon appear in Doctor Strange, due out in November. She earned an Oscars nomination for her current role in Spotlight.

Once linked with actor Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams has never been married. Perhaps the 37-year-old is finally thinking of taking the plunge with Taylor Kitsch.

Blake Lively Circled by Sharks in Trailer for Summer Film, “The Shallows”

Blake Lively stars in a summer film called The Shallows, in which she finds herself stranded on a rock along the coastline, fearing for her life.

Yes, it sounds like it’s going to be that kind of film–but summer movie-goers will no doubt love it, even if only for the fact that Blake Lively is among its stars.

In a new trailer for The Shallows, fans are afforded a sneak peek of Blake Lively screaming for help.

“What was once in the deep, is now in the shallows,” the poster touting The Shallows reads.

In the film, Blake Lively plays the role of Nancy, who decides to surf in a rather isolated area. She finds herself–as seen in the trailer–surrounded by sharks, following an injury.

Are you a Blake Lively fan? Does The Shallows sound worth seeing when, after all, you could just go online and watch video clips of Blake Lively doing the talk show circuit to promote the film?

Does the plot–or lack thereof–of this upcoming Blake Lively film sound a bit predictable to you?

Ben Affleck: His Phoenix Isn’t Rising, Back Tattoo a Fake

Ben Affleck has been mercilessly teased over a giant tattoo he’s been sporting on his back since early March. A large bird, raising its wings as though ready to take flight, the artwork seems to depict a phoenix.

Even ex-wife Jennifer Garner and ex-fiancee Jennifer Lopez think the tattoo looks stupid.

Alas it seems Ben Affleck’s phoenix isn’t rising after all. The large bird emblazoned onto his back is nothing but a fake–some artwork created to look like a tattoo for an upcoming film role.

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star shared in a recent interview with Extra’s Mario Lopez that the phoenix definitely won’t rise.

“I actually do have a number of tattoos…but I try to have them in places where you don’t have to do a lot of cover up…they get sort of addictive, tattoos, after awhile,” Ben Affleck told the Extra host.

Were you a fan of Ben Affleck’s new (fake) tattoo? Or did you side with both Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez in thinking the tattoo was way too big–and ugly?

Fans can check out Ben Affleck, now safe in the knowledge that his body hasn’t been permanently marred by oversized art, when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters. It opens nationwide on March 25.

  • Dawn Wells, “Gilligan’s Island’s Mary Ann,” Talks Show Salaries–She Made Less Than Ginger

Dawn Wells, “Gilligan’s Island’s Mary Ann,” Talks Show Salaries–She Made Less Than Ginger

Dawn Wells isn’t–nor was she ever–rich from her role as Mary Ann on the beloved TV show Gilligan’s Island. In a recent interview with Forbes, the 77-year-old talked about her time on the show, on which seven castaways were stranded on a deserted island, after their ship–the S.S. Minnow–was lost in a storm. Each episode saw the castaways–including Dawn Wells–trying to find their way off the island.

When asked to describe one big myth about Gilligan’s Island, Dawn Wells said the biggest is money related.

“A misconception is that we must be wealthy, rolling in the dough, because we got residuals,” she explained. “We didn’t really get a dime. I think my salary–of course, I was low on the totem pole, Ginger [Tina Louise] and Thurston [Jim Backus] got more–was $750 a week. Sherwood Schwartz, our producer, reportedly made $90 million on the reruns alone!”

Even though Gilligan’s Island ran from 1964 to 1967–more than four decades ago–the salary Dawn Wells received wasn’t much.

She went on to explain, however, that it wasn’t necessarily all about the money.

“The series was very good for me, for all of us who were there, because we’re known worldwide. And Mary Ann is loved all over the world. It’s amazing,” she said.

A pop-culture question that has haunted (amused?) Gilligan’s Island fans for decades has yet to be answered. Dawn Wells doesn’t answer it here either.

Mary Ann and Ginger? Or Ginger and Mary Ann?

Were you a Gilligan’s Island fan? Who was your favorite of the two single ladies on the island–Mary Ann or Ginger?

More importantly–can you believe Dawn Wells is 77?

Candice Swanepoel and Hermann Nicoli have some famous friends entering parenthood at about the same time. Fellow Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo and her husband Adam Levine are also expecting their first child.

A source tells Extra of the two models, “Candice and Behati are best friends and they are not far apart from each other in pregnancy due dates.”

Larry Drake was best known as the sweet and gentle law office clerk with a developmental disability, Benny Stulwicz, on the long running hit TV show L.A. Law. Drake, who didn’t have any disabilities himself, died on Thursday, at the age of 66.

Steven Siebert, Larry Drake’s manager, confirmed his death. While the cause of death wasn’t immediately known, Larry Drake had a number of health problems.

The role of Benny Stulwicz began as a small one on L.A. Law, when the show began in 1986. By the time it ended, the role had expanded considerably, with Larry Drake winning Emmy Awards in both 1988 and 1989.

In addition to his role on L.A. Law, Larry Drake appeared in a few movies in the 1990s, including Darkman, Dr. Giggles, and Bean.

Prior to his work on TV and in films, Drake performed in dinner theaters. In recent years he worked as an acting instructor. His real passion, however, was baseball. Larry Drake visited every major league ballpark in the United States, according to his close friend Esben Melbye.

Tori Spelling, Dean McDermott Compete in Food-Related Spelling Bee

Tori Spelling and her family are excited about their upcoming TV special on the Cooking Channel, and in honor of it she and hubby Dean McDermott competed in a food-related spelling bee on the Today Show earlier this week. Dubbed the “Tori Spelling Spelling Bee,” both Tori and Dean were asked to spell the names of foods.

Zucchini was the first word up, with Tori Spelling acing it. Dean McDermott spelled bruschetta correctly in the next round.

“That was super sexy and impressive,” the True Tori star told him.
Tori Spelling hesitated over the word “gyro,” which is presented “yeero.” She wound up spelling it correctly after hearing the definition.

Dean McDermott tripped up over the spelling of “Worcestershire” at the end of the “Tori Spelling Spelling Bee,” conceding defeat to wife Tori Spelling.

“You’re still the best chef, but I’m still the best speller,” Tori told him.

Fortunately for all of Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott’s fans, the couple recently dished about how much better their marriage is these days–a far cry from when Dean cheated on Tori during a two-day affair.

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott will share spring cooking ideas when they appear on the Cooking Channel on Sunday.

  • Natalee Holloway: Father Disgusted By New Joran van der Sloot Alleged Confession

Natalee Holloway: Father Disgusted By New Joran van der Sloot Alleged Confession

Natalee Holloway disappeared while on a senior class trip to Aruba back in 2005. She was just 18 years old. The only suspect in her disappearance, Joran van der Sloot, was recorded by an undercover journalist in recent days, supposedly once again confessing to killing Natalee Holloway.

Dave Holloway isn’t impressed. In an interview with the Huffington Post, he said earlier this week that van der Sloot’s words amount to nothing more than a publicity stunt.

“They think they’ve got something when they really don’t,” he said. “A lot of people don’t realize that in Aruba, a verbal or recorded confession is not valid unless it’s a statement signed in writing.

“Tabloids will pay for [his story] because it sells magazines, but that’s never printed,” Holloway added.

“I always lied to the police. I never told the truth,” Joran van der Sloot said in this latest confession, when asked if he had anything to do with the Natalee Holloway murder. “Also, when I was younger, I never told everything. The police just never knew what they had to ask me.”

It’s likely van der Sloot will be extradited to the United States on extortion charges once he completes his sentence in Peru. He is presently incarcerated for the murder of 21-year-old Peruvian Stephany Flores Ramirez, who he killed five years to the day after Natalee Holloway’s disappearance.

Prosecutors alleged Joran Van der Sloot accepted $25,000 in cash from Beth Holloway in exchange for a promise to lead a lawyer for the family to Natalee Holloway’s body in early 2010, just before he went to Peru.

Dave Holloway would no doubt love to believe nothing more than an honest confession from Joran van der Sloot, as well as a location as to where his daughter’s body might be found.

Unfortunately van der Sloot has proven himself nothing more than a psychopathic liar. Natalee Holloway’s family will likely never receive justice for their daughter’s disappearance and likely murder, nor will they ever learn the truth from van der Sloot about what really happened to their daughter.
